Hey @DanPos why don't u let 5 indie devs develop their own variant of a certain game mechanic instead of an entire game. For example a research tree. let each dev make their own creative research tree. Other concept options could be: health bars, turn based, Procedural generation, enemy ai, etc.

I really appreciate seeing a pass-the-game challenge that doesn't take the "kill enemies, enemies are killing you" route, more creative obstacles & victory conditions here. I'd keep the timer personally, but a way to increase the time would help yes. Little ragdoll dude was a galaxy brain idea.

What an interesting game you guys made! I know @tarodev thinks the tire noises he added are annoying but I actually quite like them! Someone invited me to do a "pass it along" project but only me and another dev ever successfully worked on it. The rest of the people dropped out. Glad to see it's possible lol

Things that would improve the game: 1. More food items to sell: Pizza (5) Watermelon (10) Apples (1) Turkey-Leg (5) Pie (15) Muffins (5) (?) = Cost price Banana = (5) Bread = (10) Water = (5) Toilet Roll = (25) 2. Power Up Boosts: War Wheels = $200 = Go 2x faster and with more power Leap = $100 = Press Q to jump up high ( Change Bean Blast to $50 ) Spillage Sucker = $50 = Spillages will disappear when near you 3. You have 5 minutes to complete a shopping list. With a maximum cost of $250 total. 4. The more expensive an item, the rarer it is 5. You deposit items to a truck, and at the end, if you win, you'll see the truck drive off into a street of houses, with a scary red sky and beans rolling about. The lore is that beans are angry and want to be eaten, and so crawl about, trying to be sold and consumed! 6. If you lose, you see beans break through the garage door, attacking the player and spilling beans all over the place. 7. 10% of beans open when in sight of player, making a puddle of beans that can cause the cart to slip. It lasts 1 minute.

Honestly, getting overwhelmed by beans and just being unable to move is very nice and adds to the game, as long as it is a fail state.

I'd make it so the shopping cart person blinks red on hurt and when they die, the cart just continues moving forward as the camera is focused on where the ragdoll was and the screen fades out while you are returned to the main menu. Might add this in just for the Unity experience (never used it before, only Unreal) You guys should do something like this again, it was very entertaining.

I think what made the game the way it is, is that none of the devs knew what game they were working with, so they couldn’t expand on it a lot. If there was a rule where you were allowed to give one sentence to the next person, I think it’s guaranteed this game could’ve become a pretty good wave defense game or something.

Add health for the shopping cart and new abilitys to fens off the BEANS. Like a baby shooter a baby on the baby seat that shots the brans with a gun. And maybe some upgrades like shooting speed and stuff like that....take insperation from horde hunter. And an ability where you throw Grenada around the cart and you can upgrade it like additional projectile's and damage speed ect. Ill one hundred% love to play the game like that

Only thing I would change is give the end condition of being stopped for a few seconds! (Think of being arrested on NFS but by... Beans). It would give the Beans programming sense. 😄

i wonder if doing this but passing the project around 2 or 3 times would work better. the first time everyone adds some features to it, the second and third time around people are a bit more aware of what it’s about and add polish and fix bugs. would also be neat to have each person start on something different, like one person starts models and art (or separate), another starts sound, another starts the game, etc. could end up with like forest sounds, pixel art, and shopping game that get combined in some way. or if models and art were separate, needing to put idk building textures onto models of people. i think it could lead to some unexpected results

You guys should continue the rotation but make the rules you have to carry on your original design from the first edit and timed. So you have say 5 hours to get it edit it and pass it on . Then do like 3 rounds to update and polish your ideas in it.

It was awesome nonetheless but i think it'd be even better if you make it multiplayer where all the players try to fight and block each other from gaining points all while all of them are getting attacked by the "Beans". It wasn't a real game with a point, but they really trashed it as much as possible and then added some 90s website start screen? in comparison the third & fourth people did a really good job of just taking the confusion and running with it and keeping the feel. I think it would be a wonderful video if you did another round of this, but with the same game. So to start off, you Dan, would have 4 hours to change/improve/tweak the game, then you pass it on to the same next person, and so on and so forth until all 6 people had their turn with making changes.
