Your not the right kind of person that should be reviewing a German SUV. Your obviously a truck guy and so your very biased towards trucks and seemingly American SUVs. I’ve watched just about every video review of the X7 and no one else complains about the things that you have complained about. You should have done your homework first before reviewing this vehicle. I own the 4.0i as well and I am 5’6” and I have no issues getting in the car. And as far as the display key being too big, then don’t use that key or buy it. There is an option not to buy it and stick with the regular key. You even hated the shifter. That’s my favorite part of the vehicle. All the premium options you complained about are all things that most of the owners of these vehicles love. And pushed the key sliding around and say it slides. Well all keys will slide if u put it on a smooth surface and push it. You had good effort in this video but it’s best if you stayed with trucks and American SUVs where your comfortable and not give a biased review

This entire video is based off your vision on trucks vs a luxury vehicle. I love watching the review car channels but I would recommend you don’t review a vehicle that you have no liking towards or very limited understanding of. Kinda hard to watch a review on a vehicle when the reviewer is biased only towards a certain setup.

To address just one of your issues...rear seat entertainment system access, controls and features can be limited or turned off by the driver with relative ease...It’s in the manual...the written version and the Idrive version.

Sorry , but I think you chose the wrong car for your needs and this car not necessary to buy with all the extras what is annoying you ..... This car is build for many different purposes all around the world. Honestly do you think , this is not build for the fun boys and business man, mafia etc..... I think this is not exactly only for shopping and school etc..... Also this car tech is for safety peruses and if you use the indicator then no problem to take over a bike or so... any other car with similar tech do the same annoying things just maybe more.... with less perfection, this is my experience. Get in and out 100% agreed. But my priority is safety and comfort with quality.

In terms of your dislikes: The rear seat entertainment and activity key are options. I’m pretty sure the air suspension has some sort of mode that lowers it for entry/exit or loading cargo. And it has those performance bits because of an old phrase that BMW uses that your colleagues judge a BMW model heavily off of. The Ultimate Driving Machine.

Decent review, but I feel like you should learn the vehicle better before making complaints. The rear screens can be limited. The display key actually has a dedicated spot behind the cup holders with wireless charging which addresses both of those concerns just as an example.

You show hauling a trampoline, using the tailgate as workbench, talk about your kids messing with you, which all could give the impression it is your vehicle. Point still stands, you didn't do your work to understand the vehicle and yet want to complain about things that are easily addressed with a basic knowledge of the vehicle and BMWs in general.

The upshot of this video for me is read the owners manual. Then you might be able to use the car properly. Reading is important. A review admitting you don't know because you didn't read the owners manual isn't great. Plus, if you were buying the car and not borrowing it, you would be shown all the features. A poor review. But maybe that's just me.......

Its not complicated to drive. Quite literally, you put your foot on the brake, press the start button, put in drive and off you go which is identical to every other car on the road. Your complaints have to do with features which most of your complaints are because you aren't knowledgeable. Just my opinion.

The first day I drove mine home I figured out most of the vehicles functions within 5 mins without even reading the manual. Nothing complex about this vehicle man. Andrew Burt is correct when he says you step on the gas and it goes and that all that it is. I even figured out how to put in semi autonomous within 30 seconds. You even complained about the adaptive cruise control. You must be Chevy guy. Your the reason why the new Chevy/GMC trucks don’t even offer adaptive cruise control as an option.

I test drove a BMW X-7 40i for a week, and both my wife and I both banged our heads on the edge of the driver's side door frame opening it, as it is angled backwards unlike my GX vehicle Door. Sensors for everything you could have ever conceived and then some, a bit over-kill for my tastes. I was driving on a highway and I began experiencing a rally annoying vibration in the steering column, and wondered what the heck was going on. Then I observed a flashing notification that I was exceeding the posted speed limit. That could save you a traffic ticket, but I had no idea how to deactivate the very annoying and uncomfortable steering column vibration, and had to pull over, stop the vehicle on the highway shoulder and try to find how to turn this feature off.

The car is available without the running board. I don't have one for that exact reason.

What exactly you want bmw to do with step/emtry door? * Electric conveyer to roll you in? *Folding ramp to fold you in? *Doors to open upways? *Car to tilt on a side for your entry? Steps to take you in a roof and load you from the top? 🤷‍♂️ This is not a sports car, and big brakes are needed as more and more houses are being built on the higher hills nowadays. If you need a car for the wild kids, - you buy a sprinter with no buttons. If you want an off roader, you buy a 4 runner or a landcruiser. If you want a higher status because you have more money then you can spend or you living from paycheck to paycheck, but you still want people to think you are still cool dude, - you buy a bmw! Why is it so hard to get? 🤷‍♂️
