Here's how you can choose good references - The point of the reference is that it should serve a specific purpose. You choose references for draiwng poses or colors or even composition. - The key is knowing what to look for in references. - once you know what you are exactly looking for, you can get one reference or a combination of references take up your drawings/illustrations. In general- choose multiple references so you don't end up making your drawing a remake of the reference.:)

Soo if i want to learn how to draw heads i should draw 100 heads and constantly critique them about what i dont like? And of not draw from anime but real life?

Yes, Here's what I would recommend if you wanna learn to draw anime heads - learn the basic anatomy of the head (to understand basics) - draw 10-20 heads from real life (to practice those basics without hindrance of style) - Copy and Draw 100 heads from existing anime/manga and get better each time This way, you have learned the basics and practiced without the crutch of style, and then focused most of your energy on your core goal - learning to draw anime heads P.s if you just wanna leanre to draw moral heads - just replace the 100 anime heads phase with drawing heads from pictures.

​@skyhavender Hey, you should probably aim to draw many heads in order to have a diverse visual library. A lot of the things you learn will transfer to the next head you draw. However, if you only draw one head over and over until perfection you risk not expanding your skillset and possible burnout. At the same time though, keep doing what's fun and feels good to you (because that's what matters)🙏 Check out Ahmed Aldoori's 100 head drawing challenge. 👍
