For the last 10 years or so my meals have been very healthy (with the exception of the occasional dessert, which is due to my extremely sweet tooth lol). My bodyfat averages 10% and on a good day I can do 15 pull ups and 30 dips. In my humble opinion, consistency is the key. All these habits have to become so ingrained in your psyche that you wouldn’t dream of skipping them, in the same way that you wouldn’t skip brushing your teeth. The byproduct of these habits is that I feel great and get so many kind comments on how amazing I look. I love your podcasts Jeremy, keep up the good work! 💪🏼

So when the colder months comes and I could just wear hoodie all the time and didn't have the drive to exercise. After a few years when I really needed to stop and look at my lifestyle because I was mentally so drained and basically not sleeping I realised how much exercising makes me happy when done consistently and I automatically have such a good mindset about everything. As a personal annecdote for habit 2, I am the opposite. I do not weigh myself when on a diet and training plan and just stick to it for a given time. Around 3 months. And I get the results that I want because I noticed (at least for myself) that I get too confident when I see results. Even if it's just 3kg of weight loss I usually get too confident and cheat a little daily until I'm no longer following the plan. So this is a to each their own thing. I went from 260lbs to 180lbs on my first run. Then 120lbs to 180lbs on my 2nd with noticeably larger muscle size.

My why: I have managed to lose some weight and I felt ready for a bulk. Messed up, gained weight back, and got to that point when I am sleeping on my side, my belly pulls me further. I hate it. So hoping to lose it again and be smarter about it in the future.

My reason for getting healthy is to feel more confident in my body and prove to myself that I am capable of so much more than I think I am. I also want to change my daily habits and live my life independently by making healthy lifestyle choices.

Honestly I think Jeremy looks better than 95% of guys that are on gear. Way to go for him to be all natural and keep at it until he finally has an amazing physique. I’ve seen the progress over the years and if you read this well done man!!

If you’re vegan, great protein sources are lentils, beans, and soy. I normally have two protein shakes per day as well - one for breakfast, and one between lunch and dinner. It becomes especially important to be purposeful and count macros to hit that high protein goal

Dr. Mike is so correct, you tend to "grow" more cylinders when the demand gets to a certain point. I know this from EKGs resulting in "Athlete's heart". I do have a lot of energy, low body fat, and eat a lot and I'm 46.

reegarding with the walk, my husband and I finally bought ourselves those smart watches, and we now monitor our walks. we both started with 8k, currently we are now doing 12k. what we usually do is have a walk before breakfast, then 30 mins walk every after meal. with that we easily reach our minimum walk for the day. listening to podcasts, audio books or even watching some YT or netflix helps forget that we need to finish a 30 min walk per meal. Btw since it's difficult to really walk outside, we just do our marches / walking inside our home. And on some weekends we try going to a different place for our walks. walking shouldn't feel complicated & difficult to do. Just do something that makes it easier to achieve & something you'll look forward to🥰

This is really helpful Jeremy. Though I’m 100% sure I won’t be able to cover all these habits overnight (or for over a month), at least I was pointed to the right direction and goal. I know that small little adjustments everyday would eventually get me there. Thanks again for this video.

My goal started in September ‘24 (42/M): I want to rip it on the mountain skiing, all day, and feel good and in control, secondly, I want to be there at the energy level my kids expect. Two pronged goal of selfish and selfless was helpful to get to where I am now. Skiied all day yesterday, and woke up not sore at all, just more motivated to do my strength training. These tips are truth, basically what helped me get in the best shape of my adult life.

I think for me is changing my mindset why I workout. How I see it is I’m working out to help with functional purposes (e.g carrying groceries) I also notice to do activities/exercises you ENJOY doing it’ll make the whole process fun and won’t feel like a chore

I’ve made the same switch about food in my mind. I’m not looking for every meal of the day to give me a seratonin hit of salty, sweet, etc. Learning more about each food’s nutritional benefits, i can connect its consumption to my overall health and long term goals. I’ve never loved chicken, spinach, blueberries, and green tea so much in my life. And when I treat myself to a Double Double it’s all the more special.

I'd love to see a video on how people with conditions like glaucoma could work out and not create more pressure in their head. Like, weight lifting is out according to eye Dr's, so if you can do curls and not bench work, are there other weight training things that can be done without damaging your eyes? Or, how about those of us in wheelchairs? I would love "out of the box exercises." Thanks, and LOVE your channel.

After my Ac1 resulted in levels of pre-diabetes range, i'm using that as my motivation to eat healthier. I didn't realize how much carbs I've indulged over the years. Now I aim for 30-45g each meal based on my dieticians recommendations.

Love the app! Finally an app that combines tracking meals, workout and monitoring progress! I especially find the workout tutorials very helpful. It even has recipes for healthy eating - could do with more but I’m sure that will be added soon. I’m coming to the end of my free trial and will definitely purchase a yearly subscription

Im 59 and currently 17% body fat. Aiming for 15% in 4 months' time, getting in shape for a holiday. I dont track calories, but I am monitoring my weight, and it's going down. I cycle to work as long as the weather's good, thats 20k or 12 miles per day. Weight training 4 days per week, plus walking the dog. I sleep 6hrs per night, caffeine does not affect my sleep. Typically I drink caffeine in the morning, but I can drink a large energy drink and fall asleep literally straight after.

caffeine tolerance feels great - I can drink my fav-drink right before going to sleep without any effect. Reality-check comes when you don't get to drink a cup of coffee for half a day for any reason... You crave it like crazy :P

I personally had a very unhealthy relationship with food and one thing I will recommend for ANYONE on their weight loss journey is to repair your relationship with food as you are dieting. I think a lot of people go to loose weight and forget that they also have to keep the weight off once they reach their goal. For me I am very all or nothing and would get cheese its and then end up eating the entire box in a go because 1) No self control and 2) I would get into the toxic restrictive mind set of just removing all less nutrtious food from my home and diet, which * shocker to no one* only made cravings worse and continued a cycle. So something I did as recommended by my therapist is buy all of those snacks in the pre packaged size servings and make it so I eat one of those little baggies through a period of time and actually let my body absorb it and digest it. Instantly helped not only teach myself the control I needed but made dieting way more approachable.

One good tip about the walking you missed is to walk after every meal if possible. Research has shown that a ten minute walk after a meal is more beneficial to blood sugar control than a 30 minute walk at a different part of the day. Personally I have a super hard time losing weight even though I eat healthy and am very active. I'm retired at 42yo, and have been walking 20-30 minutes on my walking pad after most meals. I aim for at least 80 minutes total every day on my walking pad. I also run 3x a week at a low to moderate intensity, on top of my heavy lifting. I've been losing about a pound a week lately.

I just got a free body eval today from gym and all my parameters for stuff like lean body mass, visceral fat, body fat%, etc, are looking good! I thought I was closer to 15-16% body fat but I'm sitting at 13.7%! I just need to really up my protein intake and start hitting those weights! I've always been a decently healthy eater, and fairly active, I just never have really done any weight training. My overall BWI score is 8.4/10. I am 35(will be 36 in about 3 weeks) and my Bio age is registered at 32. This all was really good information to see because I have never done a body scan like this.

I'm fortunate enough that my job has me on my feet walking around a bunch. I'll usually start my gym routine with a 15-20 min walk, but I always set the treadmill to 3-3.5% incline at about 3.8mph belt speed. I also check my bodyweight almost everyday, might skip one day, but generally I try to do it first thing in the morning.

If you are new to working out, don't set something unrealistic for yourself. Set your goal at moving. Whatever that is for you. Be walking, running, lifting weights, yoga, etc. Just get started. As you advance, then you can advance to more sophisticated monitoring. Again, only if this aligns with your life and your goals. But, whatever you do, get moving.

running is OP - skyrockets your endurance with a small caveat of living through all kinds of injuries if you're not careful It also builds the whole body. I had never done any weight-lifting in my life before I started archery. From the get-go I used maximum allowed tension for 2 hours training without breaking a sweat, whereas others where cooling down after 1 hour and they used minimum-medium tension

I love the advice! I just wish there wasn't an idea around food that centered on "toughing it out". I feel you can make some incredibly delicious foods with the formula you presented in the video! Like a nicely seasoned chicken thigh with a salad consisting of different ingredients like dill, arugula, tomatoes ect drenched with some olive oil, squeeze of lemon and a pinch or two of salt could be delicious! Idk i feel like that's why people have a hard time sticking with a healthy eating life style bc they thibk it's either eating super oily fatty foods or eating very dry unappealing foods- definitely learning how to cook and season your food can make a dry brocoli plate one of your favorite meals if adding the right ingredients that keep you going back to it!

I’m down 55 pounds (262 to 205) since mid November, I’ve been doing carnivore and intermittent fasting. Weight is stalling a bit now. Started going to the gym recently. But I’m not sure if it’s worth it with my current diet. I’m on roughly 1000cal a day. (9oz steak, 3 to 4 pieces of bacon and 2 to 4 eggs is my normal food for a day. The diet isn’t bothering me at all. Just not sure if I’m going to stop losing fat and just burn muscle.
