I have been receiving treatments from a certified tricologist for the past 7 months. This means I get a collagen about twice a month. The micro needling feels okay, no pain just acute awareness of your scalp. My hair has been growing back nicely. I have hip length locs so it means a lot to me to be able to see my scalp sprouting little hairs. The whole process has cost me about $1,000 so far. It's worth it to me. Also, I massage rosemary oil onto my scalp at least once a week in between appointments.

Hi Cassandra, you can try scalp micro needling but you can't be too aggressive with it. And don't go back qnd forth. You're supposed roll it, lift it, then toll again, in one direction. Also a derma pen or derma stamp is better.

Just a note tho, an HSA is not free money. An HSA is a type of tax sheltered account that you own, that you put your own money in. So you need to fund your HSA. Now if you are lucky, your employer might actually put a certain amount in (so that would be “free money”). But in all seriousness, an HSA is to ease the financial burden if you have a high deductible.

I have used the Irestore Pro (white) helmet for about 2 1/2 years, and I would say the results are decent. For context: I have androgenetic alopecia (i.e. female pattern baldness). I had thick voluminous hair until my 30's, and then it gradually started to thin out over the next 20 years or so. A few years ago I started noticing some actual scalp showing through, so I could no longer ignore the thinning. I bought the helmet and I also started using Nizoral dandruff shampoo twice a week. Nizoral has an ingredient that neutralizes DHT hormones that are on the scalp and cause hair loss. Results: I have more hair. It's still quite thin, but my scalp is covered, hair grows in healthy, and I don't worry about bald spots. Bottom line, the helmet is not a miracle worker; but it produces good enough results and I would say that it is worth the money (and the time spent with a silly helmet on my head). 👩‍🚀

Glad it has worked for you. I've heard such things like it changes the texture of your hair or the color such as in gray hair turning whatever your natural color was Prior. Did you notice any of that? I just started using the pro the latter part of December but I've not had good dermatologists who sing to care but have been told that I have scarring Alopecia. I talked with the company about that and I don't know why I can't have more than one type of alopecia and I see follicles over a good area of the bald area and think there is potential for growth there Karma enough growth to cover whatever it is I need to cover like the bald spot. Luckily my hair is long enough for a comb over and when that one doctor said I waited too late and I did not I was questioning doctors years, I repeat years and no one was helping me. Nevertheless, I'll see what happens and I have faith. I think this is a helmet that you have to use forever if it works right?

@@sable7114 Yes, you have to keep using light therapy forever if you want it to keep working. My hair has been graying for a long time, and it continues to do so. I know what you mean about doctors. When my hair started thinning in my 30's, I told my doctor, and he literally laughed at me. Even now, if I mention it to a doctor, they just say it's genetic and dismiss it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, no texture changes except that it looks healthier. I've lost some of my natural curl but I think that has more to do with the natural process of graying than with the device.

I have struggled with hair loss since teenage. I am 44 now. Hypothyrodism, allergy, asthma, endometriosis, depression and pre-menopausal. I think I tried everything......I HAVE THE BEST HAIR NOW, which may sound like a paradox. However, I fixed my blood pressure, which was extremely low my entire life - with ginkgo. The lack of blood circulation in scalp can be an issue. What also helped with hair quality was Daeng gi meo ri herbal shampoo and conditioner. After a couple of uses, my hair falls less, grows like crazy and looks healthy and shiny. There is always hope !

Yeah blood circulation promotes hair growth. I watched a vid of a young woman who said she lies across her bed on her tummy, & hangs her head upside down (so blood flows to scalp) & massages her scalp for 4 or 5 mins a day. She said it has worked to make her hair grow in. Microneedling also works, but the point is to cause bleeding. Causing the minor injury brings blood to the scalp in order to heal the injury. So you microneedle only once a week, & allow ur scalp to heal for the rest of the week.

During the spring/early summer of 2023 I lost more than half of my hair. I did my bloodwork and it showed up fine so there was no obvious reason. I started to use home made onion shampoo (onion has proven benefits for hair growth), rosemary oil, started to masage my scalp and tried placenta ampules for hair. Now 8 month later my hair has almost fully returned to it's previous thickness and I have so many baby hair that are still growing 🤗

Hi Cassandra. I have to say you always bring smile to my face! I love you for that :-) just keep doing what you are doing, you are doing it right! I spotted some hair loss 2 years ago, I will be 48 this year, so pretty much age and hormonal changes. My biological father was almost bold in very early age, on other side my mum is 70 and she is like a lion. I never had hair like her so I know I have to take care of them. I went to see trichologist 2 years ago, was diagnosed with Telogen Effluvium and I started with microneedeling/serum sessions every other week, vitamins, good shampoo. Nothing much happened after 6 months. I stopped being so worried and accepted that with age our body changes anyway. I bought laser cap from the clinic (no specific brand though - 282 diodes, pulsing red light). I went to see another trichologist few months ago. We were talking about laser caps and she told me that they work the best directly on scalp, the light will not go through the folicles through the mass of hair. This made me think. Does the laser cap only works directly on the scalp where I part my hair? ..... Based on your videos and videos of other trichologists I discovered iRestore Elite which I am tempting to buy and replace my current one. But my question still remains if it is working on the scalp under the hair. I wrote the company several times, they answered all of my questions but never this one about hair covering the scalp while using the laser cap. I did a reserach and no one actually talks about the mechanism of how the red light comes through the layers of hair under the cap to the folicles. All explaining videos show only short hair. On other hand all promotional videos of all companies producing laser caps show people with lots of hair putting laser cap on. My question is: do you know how it actually works through the hair? Otherwise we would have to shave ourselves to have the best results? Thank you for reading my long comment 🙂And thank you for all recomendations. I am going to buy Nutrafol, it looks ace! Thank you millions, you are absolutely brilliant! xxx

I thought the same. I think you'd need to part your hair in different ways in different sessions. I would say the light will find spots that are not covered by hair and penetrate the scalp but it won't go through hair itself.

Seriously! Unless you’re a senior…then it seems they can’t do enough unnecessary expensive tests. I could relate story after story as to how our system has underserved and even permanently harmed friends and family. In my late 30’s I started getting massive shedding. After four years of not getting any answer from my GP and dermatologist I got a referral to Toronto’s Women’s Hospital. The waiting list was two years( I kid you not). Travelled to TO, waited four hours only to see the student doctor, waited another hour to see the actual doctor, who looked at my scalp for 30 seconds, declared it was caused by stress (it wasn’t) discussed it for another minute, because I kept asking her questions and then left. I have many family members who live in the US and I’ll take their health care any day of the week.

I'm a guy with short hair and have been derma rolling for about 2 months. Results are definite. I don't have an issue with pulling out my hair while rolling since I keep it short. Can't really ease your concerns regarding breakage or pulling out hair on account of derma rolling. In terms of scarring, if you do decide to derma roll, make sure you get a roller with 192 needles instead of 540. The latter is indeed more painful and has a significantly higher risk of scarring.

Derma rolling, topically applying a blend with water, coffee, rosemary, and peppermint oil each day and exfoliating my scalp with an apple cider vinegar based product have yielded the most results in about a 2 month period. If your skin is oily, do you really need to moisturize? The idea that "everybody needs to moisturize' is pushed like crazy by the beauty industry to sell products.. I only use moisturizer during the dry cold winters (Some By Mi's 30 Day Miracle Cream is my current favorite) or if my skin barrier is fkd up (Dear Klair's Midnight Blue calming cream is great!). Most of the time serums alone are hydrating enough for me. These ingredients work for my oily/combo skin: bha, pha, mandelic acid, azealic acid, niacinamide, vit C, vit A (retinoids), q10, kaolin clay, charcoal, tea tree, peppermint, rosemary, cica, huttunya cordata (heartleaf). The list is long, but I've tried a shit ton of products during my 10+ years of skincare enthusiasm and found these with trial and error. There's no shortcuts to healthy skin, unless you won the genetic lottery, lol 😂

I’m about to purchase the iRestore store pro and trying to decide whether I should opt for the monthly kit which I think is probably not necessary, but would love to hear if it helped. they also try to upsell from their free three-year warranty to a five year warranty. (If you’re still in warranty, I wonder if they would upgrade you to the latest device?) I’m not sure if it’s worth paying to upgrade from 3 to 5 yr warranty because the device will probably be obsolete with something much stronger out in five years. It’s already a big purchase at $2100 after savings + tax so lmk if you think I can avoid the shampoo, conditioner and vitamins kit? Thanks!

Not to knock Cassandra's or anyone's personal views, but I do think her vegan diet is what's causing the hair loss. I was vegetarian for 10yrs. From 17y - 27y and my hair was always very fine, flat and thinning. For many reasons I quit vegetarianism and started eating meat again. Many things improved, my hair and skin improved and literally overnight I had no more anxiety o_0 I thought I had an anxiety disorder I was always so anxious for no reason, as soon as I started eating grass-fed meat literally overnight I had no more anxiety. For women I think it may be worse when they're on a vegan/vegetarian diet than men, a lot of them have hair loss, anxiety, panic attacks, fertility issues, even seizures. Look at vegan females on youtube and they all seem to have the same ailments. Not trying to be mean, just saying we have to put facts over our feelings, as an ex-vegetarian myself and consider adding meat to our diet. Even Derms always say there is no such thing as Vegan-Collagen; Look up the video/interview 'The Vegetarian Myth' by Lierre Keith on youtube for more info, it is amazing.

Nutrafol is way too high in biotin for me which is an acne trigger. I've been taking Biosil among my other supplements which is really helping. I have had Covid related hair loss since I had covid last July. Started falling out in large clumps in September. I already had thinner fine hair and have lost nearly 50% of my original thickness. I'm also using The Innate Life brand Rosemary scalp oil. I use Evolvh haircare line. Also using collagen powder daily. My hairloss finally started slowing after 2 months of incorporating these changes with consistency. I do take other supplements such as iron, zinc, d3 + k2, b complex, vit a, omega 3 etc.

You have to have a high deductible health plan to qualify for an HSA. Most of the money that goes in to this account is from your paycheck so your health insurance isn’t paying for it you still are. It is taken out pretax so it decreasing your AGI. It also rolls over and can invest your hsa but your company may make you maintain a. Minimal balance before you can do that. Also to legally use your FSA or HSA the supplements have to be prescribed by a medical provider and in general hair supplements do not make the cut. From the IRS… Currently, the only way to use a consumer-directed healthcare account to pay for most vitamins and supplements is if a specific vitamin or supplement is recommended by a medical professional to treat or mitigate a medical condition with a letter of medical necessity. Massage therapy falls along these same lines. Medically necessary for a specific health condition and ordered by a physician with a letter of medical necessity.

If you are curly and have no hair loss issues, oiling is good with any oil, especially coconut, it is a protection against the shampoo (maybe you want to clarify but your hair is dry and brittle for some reason) and prevents snugging and therefore breakage. But does Manes by Mell know that you say regular trimming is a myth? 😅😱 Of course it has nothing to do with growth, but you also want length retention...

This is only the second video I’ve seen of yours (love your enthusiasm, btw!) after watching the one on red light laser therapy that promotes the iRestore hair cap. I happened on this video randomly but after watching it, wish that for the sake of full transparency, you had mentioned doing these other treatments/taking supplements in addition to using the cap, in the other video on red light laser devices where you show before and after photos of your scalp as photos seem to suggest that your hair growth was solely from the iRestore. (I wouldn’t have known any different if I hadn’t seen this video.) Perhaps for others more familiar with your channel and journey, they already knew you used other treatments but I now am left wondering if the iRestore was solely responsible for the hair growth results shown in your other video. I’ve seen other people’s videos on the product but their results were far less dramatic. Yours sold me on the product…until I saw this video. Now I’m unsure. I would really appreciate knowing whether these other treatments were done concurrently while using the iRestore before buying the $2k cap which is a big purchase for me but one that is worth it if it can produce results without needing additional hair supplements, anti inflammation serums, etc. I realize everyone’s results will be different but want to set realistic expectations. I hope I expressed my concern respectfully as that was my intention. I would love to hear back from you if you have time as significant hair thinning and loss has been a deeply distressing result of menopause and excess stress. Thank you very much for the detailed videos and sharing your journey!😊

Omg girl, 1 kidney, 2 uteruses, Hashhimoto’s, heavy stress 🙋🏻‍♀️while going through menopause 🙋🏻‍♀️ (me too) and dealing with hair loss? 🙋🏻‍♀️ (me too) I feel your pain…like, literally (Fibromyalgia & Complex Regional Pain Syndrome🙋🏻‍♀️) but love how you can find humor in what can otherwise drive us crazy! I hear ya about being F-ed by the US health care system. I know far too many people suffering with severe symptoms who go to the doctor and toms of specialists to ideally (hopefully?) feel a bit better but those doctors often make them feel even worse….especially if we already suffer from anxiety! Before I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome, I went to a neurologist who referred me to a psychologist (because, it must all be in my head, right?) 🤬 Of course, it was a male doctor and I’m a female so no surprise there; also, neurologists are definitely not known for their “bedside manner.” Then there’s my Rheumatologist, who doesn’t even look at me during appointments and is cold as ice. Did I mention the back surgeon who yelled at my 80 yr old mom (kindest women ever) and told her to “tone it down” during my appointment? (I brought her with me to support me because he can be kind of a jerk.) It seems like you have been through it, and then some. My heart goes out to anyone who has had to deal with American healthcare. I realize that we are in some ways lucky to be here but NOT with health “care,” that’s for sure! I feel like I found a soul sister in you in that we both know that there’s a billing code for the warm blankets at the ER! (i’ve had to go down my bills, line item by line item and found that they were throwing things in there that they didn’t even do and hoped I wouldn’t catch!) Wishing you a relaxing long weekend. Thank you for making me laugh tonight and for all the wonderful content.

Also speak about how your genetics play a role in the type of hair you have. You just have the hair you have and only so much vitamins, lights, and scalp massages are going to "change" your genetics.
