5 hours in the Changi Airport Singapore 🇸🇬 | Exploring the Jewel Changi Airport

Today’s video is all about Singapore’s famous JEWEL. The Jewel is a huge complex made up of shops, restaurants, and interactive components for kids of all ages. It is several levels high and holds the world’s largest indoor waterfall. Just like the rest of Singapore, the plants and green design are incredible. We start at the Food Republic hawker center where we get to choose from international cuisines from around Asia. After lunch, we take the kids to the Canopy Park: Mirror Maze, Discovery Slides, Foggy Bowls, and the Bouncing Net. The kids have the best time and get to work out some of their wiggles before getting on the airplane. If you have about four hours to kill in the airport, we highly recommend bringing your family to the Jewel.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. The Singapore kids at her age may not appreciate this tasty food but your daughter seems to like it. ❤ Hope she will be back soon to try out more Singapore local food. Hi, Singaporean here. Been watching many of your videos, and I'm actually watching this video for the 2nd time. Just wanna say that you and your wife are great parents and your children are so so so well behaved and matured. Kids their age, in Singapore, may scoff at certain foods and be fussy even though they are born here. However, your kids seem to take everything in their stride well and never shy from being adventurous. I just love seeing your kids try the food and give very respectful and considerate "reviews". By the way, I did those when I was 74 years old. Am a Singaporean lady ( retired teacher). There are other activities that most tourists are not aware of. There’s a hall/ studio on Level 4 where you can participate in interactive activities. I think you & your children would enjoy them. I did 😁. I’ve been watching out for your ‘new’ videos. DO RETURN & ‘take us’ on your adventures in Singapore. I think in my previous comments I mentioned our zoo, bird park, Night Safari, etc…… Wonder if you have visited those places. Take care ! Food Court - Mainly located in shopping malls, air conditioned, multiple food stalls (example: food republic as shown in video), pricing wise is more towards the middle range Hawker Centers- Mainly located near housing areas where people stays, non air conditioned, multiple food stalls, suppose to have more affordable food for locals, the center is manage by the government (example: Ang Mo Kio & Newton as shown in your previous video, newton pricing wise now is not so affordable cos tourist visiting pushes up the average pricing) Restaurants- Can be located anywhere, mostly air conditioned, have to pay for Goods & Service Tax (7%) and will be (8%) in Year 2023 and service charge (10%) when dinning in, food is serve to your table Coffee Shop- Mainly located near housing areas, non air conditioned, is similar to food court but on a much smaller scale, pricing wise is more affordable 😀😀😀

I was laughing hilarious when you were all at the Mirror Fun Fair! I have been 2 times to Singapore travelled by KLM in 90's and 2000 was stopover from Sydney. I stayed at Shangri-La Hotel. Memory I had from Singapore airport was the many orchids with waterfalls. Indeed Singapore is VERY CLEAN! I have seen many Indians living in Singapore especially Tamil. Food Republic is a food court. Food court is like indoor air-conditioned version of hawker centres but prices can be higher at such food courts around town, tourist spots & even airport, depending on what type of food.

You should consider making Singapore as your base while exploring the rest of SEA. They have almost everything, almost like US standard. Like temporary working for you and children can go to school there as well. The only problem with Singapore is, everything is quite expensive comparing to the rest of South-East Asian nations. 😁
