This is it. I finally found the account that gives tips that i find to be the best. In my history of hair coloring the ONE time i met a stylist who did a miracle job seem to have done everything that Craig mentions. She wanted to experiment getting my black asian hair to icey blue in one sitting. She only bleached my hair twice but probably used a smaller volume bc i had to sit through each bleach for very long i even fell asleep most of the time bc of it. We started at just a little before 10 am and finished past 11pm. When it was finally done both of our jaws dropped seeing how perfect it turned out and how little damage my hair took 😮 my natural hair is sometimes straight sometimes very wavy/curly depending on how i dry/if i combed it so coloring my hair usually causes it to start to frizz but it was crazy how the result she gave me did not frizz up my hair even after several washes 😮

I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, your channel. I've been a professional for 38 yrs. 😳🤣 and appreciate the way you approach our profession. Sharing is difficult for some people, but you've proven that going to the grave with useful knowledge is pointless. I believe in sharing also. I'm so happy to have found your channel, because bleaching has always been difficult for me. Now, I can accomplish what I've been trying to master for years, with your help. My fear has always been , that the hair would slide off the head in the process of bleaching , and attempting to reach a platinum icy blonde for my client. But I'm learning what I really needed to know, now that you're making yourself available. GOD Bless you ... I've subscribed and will be a continuous fan and supporter. I will watch and be watching every video you have. If you only knew how needed you've been by those of us in this industry , that hadn't mastered the "bleaching techniques" , and couldn't get past the fear of trying. Thank you again for "Keeping It Real" ... Love you Craig. ❤❤❤

A small token to show appreciation of your works. To be honest, hair professional do not have to worry consumer knowing more because like you mentioned, consumer won’t able to replicate the same result at home as with stylist, that extra pair of hand and specialty skills do make the differences. But the importance of imparting consumer knowledge is to help consumer communicate better with their stylist and this can prevent mishap. I didn’t know the industry language, so I was once asked my stylist to tone my hair platinum blonde (actually later I found out it should be called cream blonde) not knowing some platinum tone contain ash and my hair is very porous so you may guess my hair turn out ugly dull grey. If I have more knowledge, I would have been able to communicate better to my stylist and achieve better result. So I applaud you for teaching your viewer without reserve, and truly thank you for your generous sharing.

The not knowing- My mother always says if the packaging changes whether it is a box color, font size, model, etc check your ingredients and/or ounces. She always said that is a good sign something has changed. For me, This has always been true except in 1 case. A conditioner I used changed the top from white to black and the ingredients were definitely changed. My protein powder label changed using a lighter font. Even though the ingredients did not change, the vitamin content had decreased.

Going to a hairdresser is pure torture for me due to my chronic illnesses, no matter how gentle and understanding the hairdresser can be (far too often they either take it personally or are judging me for robbing them of some extra income 😔) so I so, so, so appreciate these kind of videos immensely ❤❤ After about 15 years of virgin hair, the coloring aspect was nagging too much to ignore anymore. Being a 6, or maybe a 5, I needed to lighten first to get anything close to what I want (from orange, so that’s easy enough since I don’t mind the more brassy tones, to red and purple, both warm and cool would be fun). Right after bleaching, I learned about High Lift, missed opportunity, great timing! 😅 But ah well, in some years that knowledge might still come in useful some day so yay! The fourth tip was the most useful eye opener for me personally, with all I previously knew and still needed to learn. I didn’t know that it was the same lift, just different time

Which sounds fab by the way! I hear you on the additions in the description and will bear that in mind - most of the videos/playlists I mention can be found in the description. Thanks for your further insight. Sometimes I’m afraid it just slips my mind. I work a full 5 x 10 hour days in the salon, do some freelance consulting work, run 4 digital platforms and edit 1 video for my channel a week, which takes around a day to film/edit. So it can be rather a lot, ha. Thanks for watching and again for your kind words. 👨🏼🙏🏻✨

I’m not a hair professional, but I seem to have the right touch so I don’t see the point of spending money on a salon however, toning is something different. I find it quite difficult to get my hair that beautiful, silver grey color and keep it that way, so could you do a video specifically on toning- tips and dos and don’ts including best products? Ratio- read the produ t instructions!!! In my experience the vast majority of brands mix 1:2, a couple give more flexibility depending on the technique being used. All manufacturers want the user to have a positive experience so give instructions for use.
@theworldofcraig9 ай бұрын
Of course I’m an advocate of following manufactures guidelines….I mention that in all my videos. I've had 3 foil treatments to make me blonde from a dirty blonde/light brown... I showed her pictures of what I like, but she keeps making me the same beige... it isn't bright enough and it blends with my face too much. It's flat. I want very, bright, golden blonde. She has a great technique and we do not have good stylists here, so I want to stick with her. (My last stylist of 9 years quit to care for her small children.) Thank you!

Around my face I have old bleached/toned pieces. Now graying actually white hair coming in around my face. I added some lowlights (7N/20 vol dev) to darken the white at the roots. Now white growing out for first 1/2 inch, I think I’d rather bleach and tone instead.

Awww, that’s great, chuffed you do. So, it’s tricky to give you a definitive answer remotely as there are so many factors but yes, I would use lightener/bleach for that.

Home hair for awhile pensioner now , why doesn't my toner go all through my hair , but catches on the tips of hair , like being pink hair
@theworldofcraig5 ай бұрын
It most probably (can’t be certain remotely) that your hair is more porous on the ends so the toner “grabs”. Thanks for watching.

Hi Craig, im slowly working through your videos as im refreshing my training ( returning to the industry after a 10 year gap) I have a new client that wants highlights, she has a lot of banding, the middle band looks to be high lift tint around level 7 and the ends look to be a level 8 bleach. Her regrowth is quite big around a level 4. I plan to strand test, but i can't find information on bleaching over old highlift tint to try get rid of the banding. I originally thought I'd do 2 tests, one with 20vol one with 10vol. I always mix 1:2, so perhaps i can stick to 20 vol and mix 1:3 or 1:4 over the mid lengths and ends? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for all your educational videos!
@theworldofcraig7 ай бұрын
Hi Rachel, well that’s made my day, so glad I can help. I would say the 1:2 20 vol would be fine - that’s without seeking the hair. But you’re going to strand test anyway, so it’s all good. I would suggest leaving the strand tests attached to the clients head, sounds odd but makes all the difference to compare and contrast.

Can you mix toner into the bleach/ developer mix? And also, what is the best way to fix ever so slight orangey streaks in otherwise ice blonde all over bleach and tone? The color came out almost too light and icy, with very few occasional yellow/orangey strands (level 9.5 ish vs level 11 over all? I used Féria hyper platinum on about 6 inches of regrowth on a salt and pepper level 6.5-7 base. I then used ugly duckling mix of toners very cool lightest blue, blondeme clear, and silver toner (about equal parts or those with a 20v dev for about 30 minutes. The overall hair is white icy blonde with just a few orangey-ish streaks. Bottom of the hair was previously died and over time turned into a blorange mess, which all of this made it all mostly even and super light with a very cool white ice color. Integrity of the Eastern European hair is excellent. The hair was only bleached initially once with the Féria Hyper platinum kit, followed by the toner, all done just once. My ideal look would be a little less white/ice, more playboy bright blonde, vs old lady white and no orange streak. Should I just find a level 9.5 ish all over color I want to go for instead of trying to rebleach the missed strands (and they aren’t really bad or wire, or splotchy st all).
@theworldofcraig5 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t advise mixing toner in with bleach - unless it’s something like the Blondor offerings. Sounds like the “orangey” bits need to be lifted again - when you’re dealing with two completely different levels on one bleach out it’s tricky. As far as the tone - hair colour is so subjective…what you think is “icy” most probably won’t be what I think. There are many, many blonde formulas here on my channel…and toning videos. Thanks for watching.
@Brightsupernova5 ай бұрын
@@theworldofcraigthank you so much! I figured as much about not mixing the toner in but I have heard people do it. And yes I think my next step will be to pick out those unfortunate strands and retouch them. The overall color came out paper white lady Gaga garish white. Would it be awful to throw in a demi or permanent color with a low dev vol not to lift but to deposit a little more life into it?

I have a wedding shower in one day. My hair was bleached a pale yellow but some parts a little orange tone. Used a Kenra sv rapid toner left in too long now my hair is purple with beige roots. Help
@theworldofcraig8 ай бұрын
So the Kenra Rapid Toners are very pigmented, if you left it on a while it’ll be tricky for you to remove it yourself. I would suggest shampooing with a clarifying shampoo and very warm water - that might remove some of the purple.

Hello, I am a great fan, I love your videos and advices, congratulate and thank you for all your tips :D I would like to know what you think of the shampoos that dye hair and is it true that they are natural? I have hair loss and I paint myself with Revlon Color Stay because it doesn't have ammonia, but this new thing that came out I've read about people who have had burns and they said thats no natural at all... I think it's better to stick with the one I know... Thank you in advance for your help! !! Successes

Hi Jenny, thanks for watching and for your kind words, really pleased you’re enjoying my content. I’m not aware of any shampoos that are natural and colour hair…? Perhaps if you have a brand name…? If you’re getting a great result from what you’re already using perhaps that’s the best for you.

Hi Craig, I’ve been bleaching my hair for over a year now, but 2 weeks ago I decided to go to the salon for a permanent color, a deep red. I didn’t like it, so one week later, I tried to remove the color but only got orange. Do you think I can bleach my hair after a couple of weeks? 🙈😂 just wanted to know how delusional is my idea. 😂

my gf had her hair bleached at her friend's house. Usually it's me who do it, but I wasn't there. Her friend completely failed and now she has a lot of dark spots. Should I do a patch job (bleach the brown spots first then do her whole head), or should I just do it like a normal bleach? I will use toners (I saw your toner formula redken eq shades with clear and 9v toners) to get it homogene with an Icy look. For bleaching I'll use the schwarzkopf pro bleaching powder with 30% from redken (I may switch to the 20% ahah). Not familiar with this products yet but I heard it can bleach 9 tones 😱
