I love this, I wish more people would do it, there's some amazing music out there that haven't gained the reach they deserve, probably due to lack of marketing or other artists hogging streams with bots or listeners not searching for music but instead going straight for curated playlists etc. I'll have a good listen now and bring forth my impeccable professional ears 🤣 I'm also thinking about buying a cd player again , not only do I appreciate the tone of a cd player running through good equipment but cds were the time when I used to listen to albums from start to finish as the experience, tracks on demand and playlisting has taken away that little ritual I used to have

I have a similar nostalgia, but for me it was vinyl albums. There was nothing like poring over a good gatefold whilst listening to your new purchase... sigh...

Fantastic that you added William Orbit to the list. Scored points for that one, and also Ozric Tentacles by the way. But William Orbit's Strange Cargo is amazing. For a long time you keep hearing new sounds and details every time you play it. Everything somehow fits. Funny thing was that it was released I think in 1992 or 1993. 5 years after that Madonna released her Ray of Light album, and you can instantly hear the magic of William Orbit in it. Madonna may not be your cup of tea, especially live, but Ray of Light is a masterpiece, and Orbit definitely deserves a lot of credit for that one.

Thanks! Yes, Strange Cargo III has rarely dropped off my go-to list for the past 30 years - it never gets boring.

Wow thanks - you just made me go and re-listen to Erpland. Forgot how great the Ozrics are. BTW scored 7 - heard of all the artists but haven't listened to Damage, Alleycat or Side Two. Also a Jarre fan. Keep the vids coming!

These are great. You are rekindling my love of the progressive. I was minded of 1977 'Searching for the Spark' by Steve Hillage. Masterful. All of it. I look forward to digging into the rest of these.

'Green' nearly made it onto the list, and only missed out because I forgot! If I ever make a second list, it'll be on it. (I know SftS is on Motivation Radio, but we're close enough!)

Well that was a great little diversion! Thanks again. Sadly and wonderfully I only scored three points! Lucky me. More new music. Appreciate the share, :-)

Such a shame I can't play the music in the video, but hopefully you'll enjoy those albums :)

hahahah, great start. seen the Ozrics live over 20 times, the 1st time in '89 and my 28 year old sons middle name :P I scored 5, some william orbits mixes are in my collection, and fripp & sylvian. keep avoiding king crimson, i know what I am like with rabbit holes and my tendancy to fall down them and take too long and spend too much trying to dig my way back out

Aww, don't deny Crimson! Ease yourself in gently with Discipline (well, "gently" in a very contextual sense...) and work out in both directions from there chronologically. Of course now I need to make a "5 Incredible KC albums And The Order In Which To Listen To Them" video :)

3 for me (Ozric Tentacles, Erpland, Robert Fripp), but will definitely check out the rest. Born in 1962, my teens and later years were spent listening to Tangerine Dream (and their individual members), Vangelis (if you want something REALLY weird, check out Beauborg, it's insane and almost unlistenable LoL), Pink Floyd, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Genesis, Steve Hackett, Rush, Ozric Tentacles, and many others. Nice to see we share at least some common ground, musically 🙂

Hell, yeah, that list is completely in my wheelhouse :) I'm familiar with Beauborg, and have tried many times to love it (I first heard it when I rented it on vinyl from my local library!) Can't say I ever quite got there. (Invisible Connections wins the award for biggest "Nope" though!)

Being a King Crimson fan, I scored a whopping 2; haven’t seen or heard of the remainder.

Hmm so I guess im cheating here but I get 1 for Ozrics, 1 for Erpland, Nucleus 0, Alleycat 0, 1 for Robert Fripp, Damage 0, 1 Adrian Belew, Side Two 0 and 2 for Willam Orbit Strange Cargo 3 = 6 :). Srsly though do people even use these Spotify type things, practically everything is available on You Tube. Thanks for the suggestions and get in touch man :)

Oh I barely use KZbin for listening too music - Ive listened too albums my whole life - and Spotify has been up so long that I have a very vast collection of albums saved there so yeah.... There's also whispers of Spotify adding lossless sound as a optional subscription type soon... After that I'll probably never use a different platform (that is ofc untrue if for some reason a album I wanna hear isn't there)

I've just switched from Spotify to TIDAL. Mainly due to Spotify's price hike (Duo Spotify is now dearer than Family TIDAL), plus the audio quality is noticeably better on TIDAL. Spotify is more user-friendly re. DLNA/Connect etc. but only marginally. Used to use KZbin but the audio quality can be rubbish.

Indeed that is cheating, since you and I sat together for countless hours listening in awe to Strange Cargo III!
