If it's any consolation, this was made about the Siege of Szigetvar using the TotalWar engine and a heavily modified game known as Medieval 2: Total War. I believe it was done mostly by historians and mirrors the account of the last stand here; this one was a little slow and depressing but so was the siege by all accounts. Check out their channel as well since they also replicated other pertinent historical battles with a meticulous and resounding accuracy, just look for the ones with English subtitles so you know what's going on. its a fake story. the so-called saragarhi "battle " was a british-made fairy tale to boost the moral of their sikh slave soldiers. here are some facts about this british propaganda bed-time story: ---about 70 afghan tribal warriros (not 10 000 like the british fairy tale claimed) attacked a british outpost occupied by 12 sikh puppet soldiers who served the british east india company and who tried to defend the outpost for the sake of their british masters. ---the afghans, logically, could not even gather an army of several hundred, let alone "thousand" men due to lack of reccourses in men and wealth, because afghans were not organized as regular state army but were simple tribes men. the whole orakzai tribe did not even number 10 000 men. yet this british fairty tale speaks of "10 000 orakzai fighters". lol (btw: the british were known to extremely exagerate opponent numbers) - and even if the afghans had the ability to have gathered more than at least 1 000 troops, it would not be logical to concentrate them on one single outpost. after all some decades earlier, the afghans managed to conquer the whole punjab and sindh region with less then 14 000 regular troops, thus ruling over its inhabitants, including the sikhs. so how would they need to take "10 000" men to take one outpost?? ---the sikhs slave fighters, who were on ther service to their british masters, did not fight the afghans in an conventional battle or in an open field. rather they barricaded themselfes in their outpost and had the huge advantage of modern british mashine guns, with which they could use the advantage of mass shooting from the distance. thus, they managed to possibly kill tens of afghans and postpone the capture of the british base for some hours. - after the the sikhs were killed, the sikhs in british controlled territories were naturally sad about the useless sacrifice of their sikh people. and due to more and more sikhs defeats and casualties, they started to question the purpose of fighting for the sake of their british masters. so therefore , in order to boost the morale of their sikhs slave warriors, the british invented this fake story of "10 000" afghans against whom the sikhs "fought coragiously", we must ask, if the sikhs were so "brave", why did they not fight for their own freedom, instead of licking the shoes of their british masters and fighting for their sake?? the british easily conquered the sikhs. but the british were crushed like rats against the afghans. in the first anlgo-afghan war, the whole british combat army was annihilated by the afghan warriros. so how come the weak sikhs could fight "bravely" against the afghans (who were stronger than the british), but not fight "bravely" against the british for the sake of their own freedom? all in all, the sikhs were never a serious match for the afghans. dont belive these british fake stories

Might I add that the battle of hastings was fought after having been force marched 360 miles north, fighting a battle, and then being forced marched 360 miles south, in just 10 days (to counter the Norman threat before they got to London), only to fight once more against the Normans, a considerable feat considering they had armour and equipment to carry too. 36 miles a day after fighting a battle whilst carrying full armour, is something that shouldn't be overlooked...

Legend. 720 miles (360 + 360) in 10 days equals an average pace of 3 miles per hour from start to finish, 24 hours per day. That doesn't count how long the battle lasted, which would increase the 3 miles per hour to something like 4 or 5. Then add time the army had to sleep, eat, masturbate, etc, which would further increase their average pace needed to cover that distance. Historic event that changed the future of human civilization, but greatly exaggerated. Edit: See the Battle of Hastings wiki and go to the Harold moves south section. More accurate description of what probably happened (traveling/distance-wise).
@WhistlingFerret7 жыл бұрын
James Bone I think it's just the second March that lasted 10 days (Unless you're stating fact, at which point, that is pretty legendary), but that still puts them at 36 miles a day, after fighting a battle, only to have to fight again without any rest.

The Sikhs were outnumbered 477 to 1. The Spartans at Thermopylae were outnumbered 333 to 1, if you only count the Spartans. In reality, There were 7,000 Greeks fighting 100,000 Persians. There is no other last stand that could have been #1, the 21 where some of the bravest of the brave who ever lived.

@Jattmafia3136 жыл бұрын
Connor Traynor Spartans also had 7000 men, guarding a narrow pass that pretty much made it an even fight. The numbers of Persians were also highly inflated by Greek writers (They said there a million Persians at Thermopylae, lol). In reality the Persians probably had around 80,000 total men, and only a portion of that would be fighting the Spartans at any given time, it’s not like all 80,000 charged the 7,000 Greeks. The Sikhs were 21 men fighting 10,000, completely surrounded and no hope of survival from the very beginning. Those are much worse odds. Afghans had guns at this battle, they’ve had guns and cannons since the 1700s in Afghanistan.

@Jattmafia3136 жыл бұрын
solidmoni the Sikhs were not weakened during the Mughal empire. That was there birth. They were under a constant state of genocide from their inception, yet still managed to take down the most powerful empire in India. You can research all the battles between Mughal forces and Sikhs, it is lopsided on who the victors were in the battles. The war was won by the Sikhs. Same thing is true for the afghans, who committed genocide on Sikh civilians but when they met in pitched battles the afghans lost every battle. Sikhs won the afghan-Sikh wars. Also, Dost Muhammad Khan tried to make deals with both to the British and Russians to help him fight Ranjit Singh. Treachery like that means they afghans and sikhs could never be allies for long.
@Dakka19685 жыл бұрын

In reality Vukovar is the great Croatian victory, and complete Serbian defeat. Serbian army, cetniks, entered the City Vukovar at the end but the cost was so high for Serbs, that they never recovered, and eventually they lost the war, at the end. Vukovar is a thru example of Croatian toughness and bravery. Some 2000 workers from the shoe factory, some volunteers from other parts of Croatia and Bosnia Herzegovina, defended their City for over 3 months, against third strongest army in Europe then. Serbian loses were huge, 10 -15 thousands dead soldiers, over 400 armored vehicle destroyed, more than 20 planes, helicopters shut down. When the Serbs finally entered the City, revenge was more then bestial. All Croatian survivors were taken to concentration camps in Serbia, thousands of them killed, old, young, wounded, slaughtered in the most horrific manner, women raped.

I meant as a percentage of population, the vast majority of the army is still Hindus. Plus the sikhs are one of the largest martial races native to present day India as defined by the British martial race theory. Also the martial tradition in Sikhs is religiously sanctioned and impacts all Sikhs, while in Hindus it is limited to certain warrior castes, while the other castes have lagged behind due to the prevalence of British era stereotypes and a lack of martial impetus in their societies.
