What further upsets me is that they say "as much as 10,000". That is WAY under what the real number is. I lived in China for an entire summer and met with people in villages and cities across China. Every single one knew about someone who died at Tiananmen Square. One woman had her entire family killed. EVERY SINGLE one. All her cousins, uncles, aunts, friends, siblings, and parents died. She was all that is left if her entire family. The reason she survived was because she was late to the protest that day. She lives in Hong Kong now and makes a point of spitting at soldiers every time she's on the mainland. China massively covered up the slaughter. I'll never forget the people I met during that time. Makes me very thankful for the freedoms I do have.

interesting video. I had not heard of August Landmesser. One of my favorite "defiance" stories tells that after Denmark was invaded in WWII, the Nazis told the Danish government that they had to supply a list of all the Jews in Denmark. The next day (if I remember correctly), the entire population of Copenhagen (including the King of Denmark) rode bicycles through the streets while wearing star of David armbands, on the assumption that the Nazis couldn't very well arrest the entire population. Additionally, throughout the war, Danish fishermen would smuggle Jews from occupied Denmark to neutral Sweden.

Or do you not see the sickening wealth the saudi/iranian/venezuelean and other oil countries display? For god sakes, the Saudi royal family bought the 450million dollar da vinci... So, explain to me how we stole their oil? Where is all this free oil at? The middle east could be a flourishing nation if they let go of their archaic religious beliefs and deployed a democracy where people could flourish. Instead they wage jihad against the west because they do not want to stop the hating and the raping and the murdering. We should have dealt with them at the same time as korea, ten nukes...then we could have actually taken their oil. You act as though the middle east was not the most imperialistic and violent society for centuries, taking over countries, enslaving millions. Do people really not read history? Hey, there's no rule that it has to be only five. Oops! I kinda compulsively followed that "rule" in one of my own videos! But it was because I could only think of four really good examples. There are plenty of examples of courageous defiance. A great video poster, Steve Shives, does "5 things" videos, but always ends them with, "The problem is coming up with only five."

Judas was a Hero, not a traitor, without Judas there would be no Christianity.

Flying Dog Judas Iscariot is eternally chewed upon by one of the three mouths of Satan himself. If he's a hero, he isn't treated as such.

I feel the actions of Brig. Gen. McAuliffe, acting commander of the 101st battalion, deserve a mention. At the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, at Siege of Bastogne the Nazis demanded that he surrender. Given that his unit was woefully undersupplied and outnumbered 5 to 1, surrendering probably would have seemed a sensible thing to do. But instead, McAuliffe gave the infamous one word reply: NUTS!

My father was stationed on the USS Belmont, GER 4, the sister ship to the USS Pueblo. In January of 1968, the Belmont had to go into dry dock due to major technical problems that kept her from going on her originally assigned mission of monitoring Russian submarine activities in the straights of Korea... After the overhaul work was completed, she was stationed in the Indian Ocean for a few months (just in case something happened). Thank God for technical difficulties...
