Rescuing people...sometimes when you "rescue" people, it feels like you're rescuing Yourself. Not always, but.. sometimes.
@shootatsquare4 ай бұрын
That's the problem with it. People rescue others in subsition of rescuing themselves

Anyone else think that some of these guests Charlie has on the show are completely off base? There's a lot in this episode which feels like he's jumping to conclusions that he wants to believe. Like how giving to people is telling them they aren't capable of anything. Quite a reach. It reminded me of the old onion headline "parenting expert has nerve to tell you how to raise your own kids". I was getting the vibe that he was an Ayn Randian libertarian and reaching for a way to say transactions are morally superior to charity. Was not surprised at all when he said he used to be a venture capitalist.

He literally explained the difference between giving freely with an open hand vs giving to make yourself feel good/needed/significant. Many do the latter and in attending to their own needs by default they are not seeing the other fully for who they are and empowering them to help themselves as far as legitimately possible. Giving to others the right support/advice/resources so that they don't eventually need repeated support is far more dignifying and honouring than keeping people disempowered and dependent on others.

I haven’t fully sorted it out, but I think he’s speaking to the source of one’s giving. There’s a stage historically and developmentally where we have been coerced into giving (give because it’s the right thing to do, because god/dad will love you if you do etc). Almost all of us lived though this and have learned to believe that left to our own devices, without the obligation of society or our superego, our charitableness will dry up. I’m testing it in my own life and have found that I definitely pulled back from some charitable giving, but am tapping into what feels like a deeper generativity. Remains to be seen how it translates to long term charitable behavior - time will tell

This is true. I feel a lot hate towards the men who try to help me when I don’t need their help. They force it on me and I can tell it’s only because THEY want to look good or make me feel less than them and not because they genuinely want to help. They’re not only wasting my time for their pleasure but also denying me from learning and acquiring the skills/strength that I want from the task.

What happened with Charisma On Command? Are we ever going to get more videos on that channel?

Has anyone done the full charisma course Charlie created? Is it worth it?

Can't speak for you but I have done it and considered it worth it. It notably impacted my life for the better

Bought it once and I'd say yeah however I had to refund it because I realized there was a lot of work to be done on fundamental issues I dealt with first. So if you are not like me who was in total shambles and had no social life whatsoever and you can afford it I think you could give it a shot. He clearly knows what he's talking about, both Charlie and Ben just scream "competence".

People could also vote for Trump because they liked the economy and no new wars...
@ZakBellinger4 ай бұрын
Yea he totally lost me when he said the only reason someone would vote for trump is that they had a domineering parent... And then goes on to state how he had a very domineering parent, but doesn't seem like he would vote for trump lol. For someone who "listens" so well he sure is far off in his own lala land.
