@Pheonix Martin you cant lift the desk because once you let go of it when it touches the ceiling it's going to fall again if there is no weight on the bed, it's easier to try to pull the bed down.

when I was a teenager I also invented a bed that went up to the ceiling on ropes, but it was only a paper concept to make more space on the floor for lego. I never actually built it. Your inventions have the youthful fun-ness plus an actual implimentation - brilliant.

It's just the weight of the desk. As soon as I get off the bed it naturally goes up because the desk is heavier
