Made me really happy to see it here. My grandfather used to tell stories since he was a fisherman that worked around the coast of Norway and UK and the myths of the old man in the big castle was the one I loved the most. He said that the crews out on ships would see the Island appear in front of them and it was covered in forest and on a hill stood a big castle with one single tower. If you went ashore you would see big black hares (or rabbits in this case) and the old man in the castle who according to the same stories was very old, had white hair and would pay the men in gold just to make them leave. All in strange coins. I wonder where this legend started. It's really amazing and feels like perfect material for a fantasy book.

I believe this is a complete hoax. The chances of an unrelated alien civilization using ALSO binary to run their computers is very very very very low but plausible. Current is either on or off. Aliens also discovering electricity and following the same train of thought that we did that we could create a technology based on if current is on or off and to, years later, also develop computers from that is not impossible per say. BUT the aliens also using ASCII??? A system created by US? Ridiculous. ASCII is simply giving an arbitrary numeric value to characters (letters of the alphabet, numbers, symbols such as /$%?, etc). If you'd ask 2 humans who have no knowledge of the ASCII table to create it from scratch, they wouldn't give you the same answer. One might start that table with the letters of the alphabet, the other the numbers. Maybe a third would rather start it with the symbols. It would also imply that aliens also coincidentally use our western alphabet... and speak English for some reason. Oh, and also use the same coordinate system that we do. WE decided where the "0" for latitude and longitude start and how many degrees are in a circle. This is complete hogwash.

If Atlantis really was located between south Europe/north Africa and America, it could be that the island sank as the continents moved away from each other. When looking at google maps there is clearly an underwater mountain chain at the supposed location of Atlantis. Maybe, 2000 years ago, those mountains stood above the water surface... (-*_*-)

At the current rate of continental drift, 2000 years would only amount to about 165 feet of drift. I imagine it would take a lot more than that to hide an entire mountain chain. But not a bad line of thought

Hy Brasil is a weird thing. Phantom islands are strange. I believe that some of these islands were truly real and not made up. Perhaps these phantom islands are part of lost civilizations or even some sort of portal into some sort of dimension or parallel universe. I think other phantom islands could easily be errors made by sailors or misjudgments. Atlantis I believe really did exist and somehow or another it seems like someone or something wanted to keep Atlantis lost from all records.
@MachalyM8 жыл бұрын
To think that Atlantis probably wiped out by a tsunami thousands years ago, well, in my opinion, there would be nothing left to be seen. Massive water coming fast in that kind of velocity, giant waves probably as tall as skycrapers, able to wiped out a continent. I wonder how big the super tsunami if it was true? Well, my country hit by tsunami twice this decade, so yeah... this kinda makes me shiver.
@Grmario858 жыл бұрын
According to your reasoning Athens isn't real either.
@ODST1048 жыл бұрын
+Abby Lowe Athens was thought to have a strong connection with Athena but same applies to her but Athens did and does exist. Just because an ancient man said a place has a connection to a diety and said diety doesn't have evidence to exist does not mean the place didn't or doesn't exist. Locations are not like deities, the location can/could have existed even if there is no deity.
@1119-m3n8 жыл бұрын
think about it .... atlantis was an island not a floating gaint boat or something , what have islands in commen , yes , they are connected to the groung of the ocean , islands are underwater mountains and the part u are seeing is the peak of this mountain. if atlantis was destroyed by a tsunami then all the surface of that island is gone , if this tsunami is big enough which have to be absurd big it can take a whole part ( the top) of that mountain, but this mountain should be CLEARLY SEEN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN there must be an elevation ( thought maybe where the azores are this elevation) (Atlantis existed) > tsunami -> possible >>> possible to find the location

I am a muslim and i have heard a story from many different people including religious scholars that, once there was a city rich in minerals and people with so much knowledge and power which was given to them by God. But then they started to disobey God, therefor God sent Gabriel to destroy them. When Gabriel arrived there he wanted to know how much knowledge they have. Gabriel saw two kids playing and he asked them do you know where is Gabriel right know? One of the kids replied, "wait let me see". That kid drew few lines and said "Gabriel is not in skies nor in water and this guy (pointing at the other kid) is with me and i know him, so it must be you !". After that Gabriel destroyed that city. This is just a story not mentioned in any book but the story is like the lost city of atlantis. But the thing that amazes me is that connection between these two stories, like a same event witness by two people. You guys should search and read about it. :)

One thing that I consistently appreciate about your videos is that you never state things as fact when they have yet to have been proven as such. You're very diplomatic in how you present topics (eg. "While this has yet to be proven, here is some evidence supporting it...What do you think?"). Your videos encourage further research and exploration rather than ending the viewer's interest at the end of the segment. Bonus: Even when you have super eerie videos (like on the MIB) your voice is still calming enough for those of us anxious folk to keep watching ;) Your topics range from creepy to somewhat whimsical but they are always so professional!

It's one of the greatest videos of your channel in my opinion. I've a question - since AHS:My Roanoke Nightmare started, can you please do a documentary about Roanoke, the mystery about 117 people vanishing from there and the word Croatoan? It'd be fascinating to know more about it and the theories surronding that mystery. I'd be very glad if you do it in the future.

I truly do believe that Atlantis existed. Maybe Poseidon didn't summon a great wave upon the city, but I do in fact believe that maybe a massive tidal wave struck the city, as scientists say the tectonic plates in the supposed area had shifted, long ago, which triggers monsterous tidal waves

Wait I don't get why people believe and mention gods as proof in greek mythology when greek mythology itself is a myth? (sorry for sounding dumb)
@ritikachauhan20288 жыл бұрын
I suppose because even though Greek myths are... well, myths they are still mostly based around real locations. For eg. the city of Athens got its name from a fight for patronage b/w Poseidon and Athena. While the gods are not real, the place does exist. Of course, it is in a myth but it doesn't necessarily mean it is mythical.
@FromDkWithLove8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Platon Abby Lowe explains it well. Greek mythology was simply the religion of that era and equally legitimate to any religion we have today, although a lot more tangible. Even though it may have been founded on myths, the historical prominence of the mythology is no myth.

I hope you, one day, host a video featuring the rumored holes at the poles of the earth, and the hollow earth theory. I know it sounds absurd, and I thought so at first, but after looking into it, it's quite disturbingly convincing.

Plato, dialogues about Atlantis: people taking dialogues as factual events and not stories he wrote to convey abstract ideas. I don't get why people take it literally, the island he describes is a metaphor for intellectualism being destroyed by those is charge. It's not an actual place and it never was.
