A snack that I still make for myself that I learned long ago when my oldest daughter was in preschool (she is now well into middle age) Ants On A Log - celery sticks stuffed with peanut butter with raisins on top Might sound odd, but it’s crunchy and has protein and a bit of sweetness, and the combination just works somehow.

At our school here in Australia we can still provide homemade treats for school parties etc (we don't to class snacks just individual lunch boxes on a daily basis). It's really good seeing what gets brought in, we live in a very multicultural area so the kids get to try all sorts of new things.

Love how real you and Brooke are. Watching your videos and feeling encouraged helps me on the hard days. Great variety of snacks,something for everyone! Thanks for the recipes. My grands like Dill crackers ( like Fire Crackers without the heat). My treat: I peel and slice apples, let sit in water with some salt for a few minutes then drain,don't rinse. Take cream cheese with a little brown sugar stirred in as a dip for those apple slices. Salty sweet treat and they don't turn brown. Please use wax paper carefully in oven. It will leave wax on your food and can catch fire. But it's great to use in fridge and Parchment paper is safer for oven. 😊

Funny story. When my kids were here I made this: big box cheerios (or bag of generic if they still make that), 1/2 bag chocolate chips(mini are best), 1/2 box raisins, 1/2 bag coconut, & enough honey to make it stay somewhat blended. Probably around 2-4 Tablespoons. Makes a HUGE bowl full. They could have 1/2 cup per day. My littlest couldn’t say trail mix. She named it c r a c k mix. This is over 35 years before what you’d think that meant now. As an adult we were in the grocery store together and she said, “I should make some______ mix”. (For her kids) People started whispering and looking at us. Took a minute to figure out why 😂 to this day that’s what my whole family call it. 😅Definitely addicting it tastes so good. You can add anything else to it but that’s all I could afford then. Back then it was about $3 to make and enough for 2 batches minus the cheerios.

Ranch Oyster Crackers • 1 bag of oyster crackers • ⅓ cup canola oil • ¼ cup ranch seasoning • 1 tsp dried dill weed INSTRUCTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 250F. 2. In a large bowl, combine the oyster crackers, canola oil, ranch seasoning and dill weed. Mix to combine. 3. Pour seasoned oyster crackers on a baking sheet and bake at 250F for 10 minutes, stir, then bake for another 10 minutes. 4. Let them cool for a couple minutes before eating! Enjoy! See Mindy Mom has a no-bake version. She also has a hack for extending muffins. She has some great snack ideas.

School snacks growing up would be home popped popcorn, raisins, dates, other dried fruits like apricots, apples , cranberries, and mango's. We also got nuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. We never got store bought cereal or chips. Mom and Nanny would make homemade Granola. If we did good on a test we got some chocolate chips in our granola or treat bag.

I can't wait to make the strawberry trail mix! It looks so delicious! At the beginning of making this you mentioned freeze dried bananas and I was just wondering are those a real thing? Seriously though I've never heard of freeze dried bananas and I'm 42 years old. I think I'm actually going to make all of these because they all look yummy! I know my son would love them all too! Thanks for sharing another wonderful video with us! ❤

@MyBeautifulChaos93 if it is banana chips you're looking for our local grocery store here in NC is Food Lion and they sell them in plastic containers in the produce section. At our Walmart and Dollar Tree they have them right next to the trail mix. Hope that helps you. 😊

how is it in the states you guys are aloweed to have peanutbutter in states schools we cant eaven sent a treat unless its says peanut /nut free on pkg
@carriesessum250510 күн бұрын
It depends on the school or district in the states, some schools are nut free if one or more students are highly allergic. Depends
@Mollycat-mg6jq10 күн бұрын
@ Ah thank you all our schools havebanned it nomatter what
@MyBeautifulChaos9310 күн бұрын
Yes, it depends on the district/school/class. For example, my 6 year old can't bring any peanut products into her classroom as there are multiple kids with allergies. But, my other 2 daughters can because they don't have any in their classroom. They all go to the same school. I could see a permanent ban being put into place at some point though.
