I always really appreciate it when I see vegan recipes without a blender or foodprocessor! I mean sometimes it feels like every vegan recipe is just "Take veggies and blend them with spices" or "Blend cashews and spices to add them to your veggies".

Caitlin, I think this video is a great example of how much better you're getting at making videos! I thoroughly enjoyed 1) your display of the groceries cost updating as you listed off what you bought, 2) fitting the ingredients per meal in the screen, 3) the little things like the minipeppers, arugula, and avocado blinking like lights, 4) the background music nicely being at a low level in contrast with the sound of your narration, & 5) I think we have the same pan! I imagine this took a lot of time! Keep it up :D

Caitlin - EXCELLENT PRESENTATION !!!!! It is SOOOO refreshing to see that you didn't "follow suit" like many other DIY videos that subject the viewer to the same boring "watching water come up to a boil" shots.... I LOVE your use of the "time lapse - speed frame" effect to show the cooking steps yet not spend the real time having to sit through it. ADDITIONALLY - Your addition of the dollar amount budget costs for all of the meals as well as the individual meal cost is BRILLIANT !!! So many people do not add this element into their videos, and it's a helpful tool - you really have a knack for making interesting and helpful videos. The only suggestion I would have (and it's very small one) - is to think about adding the date (like "Summer of 2017") somewhere on the screen (like a bug or a crawl) to show a reference as to when your prices were paid.... WELL DONE !!!! KEEP MAKING YOUR VIDEOS - You have a real future in doing these!!!

Hi guys the traditional way to make Mexican rice a tip in case you guys want to try it. First you going to choose the rice that you want to cook Mexicans usually use white rice and sometimes brown rice you add a little bit of oil in your Skillet and saute your rice for a little bit. Don't let it burn. Blend in fresh tomatos (2) in the blender one small garlic (you could also use garlic powder onion powder) half a onion pepper and if you want optional a little bit of cilantro. You add this to your skillet. The heat of your Skillet will cook through your Raw salsa. Add water ( for one cup of rice is 2 cups of water) and salt to taste. Cover it for 20 minutes. Within this time. Don't let the steam come out. Have it in medium Heat and do not mix it. it's done add half a lime to your rice. That is the recipe for arroz Rojo. You can also add veggies like corn carrots anything you want when you add your water add your veggies too.

Hi Morgan, KZbin got back to me and said that there were no issues with the video. They recommended that if you cannot view it, you do the following (going to copy and paste) " (1) Clear cache and cookies (2) Use other browsers (3) Reset or restart your device/computer (4) Use other device Should it still give you the same error, please let us know and if you can provide a screenshot, that would be better. " I'm sorry the solution isn't more simple! :(

Caitlin Shoemaker thanks for getting back to me! I tried it today and it played right through. Maybe a lot of people where watching at the same time. I appreciate you checking into it!

i think seasonal foods would be cool too for this series. like summer foods or comfort foods for colder months. spooky fun foods for halloween and red and pink foods for valentines. i love this idea and think it can be so fun with a little imagination 😊

5 Russian vegan recipes 😈😄
@Racohi7 жыл бұрын
why this emoji "😈" though? I'm Russian by the way ;) actually we have so many vegan recipes or vegetarian but you can omit the cheese or replace it with a vegan cheese, beetroot soup"borshch", mushroom and potato soup, cabbage soup "Shchi", noodles soup, sour kraut/mushrooms/mashed potato/mashed sweet potato stuffed perogies, olivier salad "without the pork and eggs of course" and so many other soups and recipes, some of them have meats or chicken but it's not the main so it's easy to just omit it

ror ror I'm also Russian 😊 Emoji coz it'll be interesting to look how this theme will be developed:)

Alisa Ross unfortunately Russian food is not popular like Italian or Mexican or French or Indian or Greek or Turkish food I don't know why !! Even polish food is popular!

@@Racohi . Exactly, there should be plenty of vegan comarades on KZbin posting vegan dishes. She is just too lazy to search for them and thought posting on Mexican inspired video was an easier way. Smh!

I loved this! I would love to see you do Italian and/or Chinese food next! Also, I think the 5 for $5 title works well!

I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm doing a 30 day vegan challenge (thinking about using it as a transition period and lifestyle change) and I've gotten so many great ideas from the last couple of vids already.

Knowing real Mexican food, this was a bit traumatizing. That fake salsa was KILLING me.

Gandhijis as someone who is Mexican I completely agree but I appreciate what she is trying to do.

Gandhijis I'm Mexican and I can't stand when people bitch about "real Mexican food" like damn, if you don't like it her way, just do it yourself fr.

Riley Vega yikes. I came to the video hoping to find actual vegan alternatives to Mexican food. Thats why I commented this. Maybe she'll take it as constructive criticism and research real Mexican dishes and modify them to be vegan. You seem pressed for no reason.

Those recipes are awesome but I think around $5 for a homemade meal is a lot 😳 If you had two $5 meals a day your weekly groceries would cost $70, that's insane 😳
@CaitlinShoemaker7 жыл бұрын
Did you listen to my description? The most expensive meal was actually $3ish :) Plus I purchased organic foods, and not all of your meals are going to cost the same amount! For example, when I eat oatmeal with banana and peanut butter for breakfast, that probably costs less than $1

Caitlin Shoemaker Yeah I know, I just realized! I wanted to delete the comment but it kind of didn't work 🤦🏽♀️🙈 Sorry!

elusivebutsatisfying T. $70 for a week of groceries is cheap. It's just mum and I at home and each week our food shopping is around $200+
@elusivebutsatisfyingt.91667 жыл бұрын
Natasha Antunovich That is your problem and nowhere near cheap. My sister and her boyfriend need 300/month together! I used to shop and shop and shop groceries and I'd come to around 70€ + School lunch which is insane! One single person doesn't need to spend 70€ on groceries for 7 days!

Everyone can spend as much or as little as they want for groceries. It's a personal choice!

I love the idea of this series!! I really do appreciate that you continue to make videos showcasing budget friendly vegan meals that show recipes accessible to many more people than the typical "blend 5 cups of raw cashews in your Vitamix" approach. Excited for future installations! You should collab with Cheap Lazy Vegan or Mommytang & do a Korean inspired one!

I also want to share a salsa recipe is a traditional Mexican salsa recipe. For this recipe Salsa Roja (Red Salsa) and is so simple. First you need to boil two tomatoes 2 - 4 fresh green jalapenos. In the blender add your cooked jalapenos and tomatoes half of fresh of onion one or two cloves of garlic cilantro salt and pepper. Once you put your ingredients in your blender cup let it stand for one or two minutes so it could cool down for a bit before you put the top on and blend because this will prevent it from popping and making a big mess on your kitchen.

Thank you for putting it out there that it is easy and affordable to eat this way. Not everyone can afford to eat organic, spending hundreds of dollars at whole foods every week. I loathe it when I see creators on KZbin who are into food shaming others. Thank you for not falling into that trap. I'd love to see a Thai series, and maybe even a Mediterranean?
