I agree 100% with all your points in this video. Having larger more open social areas at the cost of extra guest cabins, is something i think alot of people are looking for. With crew cabins and sofas you can easily sleep 10 people if you really wanted to. If you are only sailing 2-4 people 99% of the time, you absolutely dont need 4 cabins and 5 heads, thats just a waste of space. Love the interior and the liveaboard feel it has. Brilliant that you can choose your own layout, 2, 3 or 4 cabins. Great video!

I must say, what an outstanding layout. It reminds me of Perini Navi and Alloy sailing yachts that have both the upper and lower salon areas. Doing this to a 75' - 80' yacht really enhances the living area. Thank you Nick for the wonderful tour and no worries about showing the lower salon several times, it's what makes this yacht a winner.

Very low bulwarks for style, that's why you get the carbonfibre stub stanchions to make it a bit more safe. I would take them off haha There's no real inside dinette, the table in the main saloon lounge is a dining table but the settee is well back and unsuitable for dining. The helm seats look like you can reverse the backrests and have them face towards the stern but there's a cabinet right behind where your legs would go. All boats this size should offer a two cabin option. Just make the cabin windows bigger.

30+ years ago, I had a converted ex-naval 70 foot patrol boat. Wheelhouse and main deck cabin and everything else below. 2 large comfortable en suite cabins, one for'ard and owner's aft, with lounge/galley accommodation amidships. Very old school of course, but made for a very comfortable boat. This Pardo seems to have brought back the concept of a traditional gentleman's motor yacht and improved it very nicely indeed. It's no wonder to me that you were so enthralled. I certainly was. An excellent yacht, beautifully presented and a superb tour. Well discovered Nick.

I have to say I am a little disappointed that you didn't show more of the lower deck galley and lounge area😂. Got to agree, a great idea. The mirror wave was an 8/10 on this one. Exciting layout. I’ve been looking for something like this. So many large boats waste lots of useful space on cabins that don’t ever get slept in. Just because you can fit 12 people on a yacht doesn’t mean they are all going to be sleeping on it. Beautiful fixtures as well. Suprised you didn’t suggest that the owners daughter sleeps in the VIP and her boyfriend in the overflow. To nitpick: you’ve got to stop calling surround speakers stereo speakers. They mean two different things
@kevinmcintyre65032 ай бұрын
Such a treat to see such a novel layout. You are quite correct that even as viewers we predict the lower layout before you even descend the stairs. Not this time. My only modification I would request if buying this one, is that I would put a proper foldable up/down table in the lower lounge so you could eat your meals there in handy position to the galley. I always find myself looking at the practicality of having to lug crockery and dishes of food up and down the stairs for every meal, and it would be a pain in the neck after a while. Great little crew cabin. Impressed by the separate shower in such a tight space. You would definitely want to hire skinny crew members for the access and the narrow beds. My gardener is a terrific former South African gentleman, who worked on super yachts. Fun to chat with him about it, the life, the tiny beds, the long hours etc. He definitely agreed that the narrow bunks are a challenge to sleep on. Great tour Nick. Loved your enthusiasm.

What a great idea. I've often looked at the four cabin layout and thought how cramped it looks (in a boat of this size); great if it's a charter and the guests are spending more time in the water than in their cabins but this is so much nicer for the majority of owner operators. Love it!

Boat 7.5/10 Nick 10/10 The 2 bedroom layout works well for a small family that wants a live on board boat, the downstair kitchen and living room is going to get a tone of use. Usually you’ll find more practical to have the galley on the same level as the dining table. Here you’d have to carry all the plates upstairs as there is no dining table downstairs. For a liveabord it wouldn’t be really suitable. And why would you need a second lounge area. If your just the owners on board, you would use the main salon on the main deck, with blinds down for privacy. If you’re with guests, you would like to have everyone together instead of having two separate lounging (and even more is the weather permits to use the outside). I think I would go for the galley up option.

@9VARZ2 ай бұрын
That concept of a lounge + kitchen space is already very common on cats (particularly power cats) but it's usually found on the main deck. This one somehow is a very nice "porting over" of that idea because it also mimics how the individual cabins are directly connected with it. It's a great place to be both in the early mornings and also in the late evenings. I'm also of the impression that this is an option on some 50 and 60-footers, though.

Why hasn't this been done before? It's like anything: Someone has to be first at some point. It's like an interior designer saw the light and thought what you thought, Nick; "Why always draw up many cabins when you can do so much with the space?" And so yachts continue to evolve and become less and less standard. Beautiful to see! You'll only have that £5,000,000 to spend? I wouldn't know which yacht I would choose. 😉

I think this is one of my favorite designs. For me, the much more comfortable lower lounge/galley makes more sense. Something so often overlooked, there is lots of sleeping for kids, grandkids for many of us. We don't hesitate to bed them down on couches at home, why would this be any different. Older kids/young adults would probably be happy on the big sun beds. The 3rd full (day) head really would support this. Ideal for weekends, long trips with just your favorite couple.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the unique lower-galley and living space but the question I kept asking myself is ‘where do you eat?’ The only table-height eating location is in the cockpit so imagine making nice dinner and then carrying every plate up those stairs. Moreover, you said the lower area is ‘the ultimate hand-out area’, so why have the upper living space? I’ll go one step further; why not put guest or the owner’s cabin where the upper living space is if the downstairs area is ‘the ultimate handout’?

I tend to watch your channel on my TV so as to get a better view of the boats as a 15" laptop screen just does not do them justice. Now this boat is SOMETHING! I don't care for some of the fittings (louvered roof in a salon, for one - is it really water tight?) but that below deck outline is to die for. Oh, my word, it's amazing. And yes, two cabins are enough in many cases. An actual laundry room! And that little crew cabin is so practical (once again - tight seal on that hatch!). Everything, as you might say, "Brilliant"! I expect you need to start doing some really amazing saving for the bucks to buy one of those. Truth told, I'd be pretty happy with a boat like yours as that is even beyond the budget of someone on Social Security (is it really?) in the USA. Thanks much...

Funnily enough I was thinking EXACTLY along these lines layout wise during your Princess series. If I ever get into the position of speccing a 75-80ft from scratch, I would ask for this. Why would me and the wife need 8 beds when we are 90% of the time just the two of us? Living/social area beats sleeping area 7 days a week in my book. Sure, the kids might come and visit a few days per season, but that can be solved then. Brilliant, and I fully understand your enthusiasm (since I hade the idea my self, and being totally puzzled why it’s not been done. Until now)

I agree this is the perfect owner/operator yacht for a mature couple. Only thing I would change is to swap the upper salon dining table with the lower salon coffee table… If I was eating inside I’d prefer to just eat down next to the galley and if I was going to carry the food upstairs then I’d plan to eat outside, because think about it, if the weather isn’t nice enough to eat outside then what view are you missing by eating on the lower deck? Also, with as large as the seating is around the lower salon along with the full day head, if you have smaller grandkids they can just sleep there. I’ve always thought filling up 3-4 cabins on an owner/operator boat just creates extra work for the owner looking after so many guests that it would probably take the fun out of the excursion and make it to much like work, plus whenever I’ve been boating with a bunch of people the guest start to cluster in other areas of the boat and your left at the helm by yourself and can start to feel left out on your own boat! The guests aren’t intentionally being rude, it just gets boring at the helm if your not the one piloting, so they start to wander off… Only two couples would definitely keep it more intimate on longer trips, with the size to load up the boat with a lot of friends for shorter day trips if you want too…
