I am glad that the wind doesn’t blow the cedar down

Great video, this is a beautiful built. I bought the led lights from costco, solar power comes with a remote control, inexpensive and look great.

Thank you for this follow up. It helps me see some of the more intricate details of how the structure was assembled. As someone familiar with LED lighting I'll suggest you check out alternative options for the lights you used which likely has a built in converter to come back down from 120 volts. Most LEDs use 5 volts and some use 12 volts. If you choose a 12 volt option you could eliminate the converter and with it the parasitic draw on your battery.

The pavilion you built is seriously the best looking one on youtube! We would like to model ours after this. The land we have on the side of our home will allow our maximum width (outside post width) of 13'6" (because we have a 6' easement to consider and distance from the house). The length is TBD (somewhere between 28-40 ft - we would have to look into moving two condenser units of two air conditioners). We live in Bokeelia, FL (hurricane territory, SW Florida), so we are concerned with the wind rating for this structure. Do you know the approx. maximum winds for this structure? Your structure withstood 50 mph winds. I wonder if it would hold up with a category 2 or 3 hurricane? A cat 2 is 96-110 mph wind speed, and cat 3 is 111-129 mph. Also, what depth should be for the 8'x8'posts (6 or 8 posts, depending on the length of the structure)? I think you had 36" depth. Our ground is mostly unconsolidated sands and silts. Thanks

We recently had 70 mile an hour straight line winds and the structure . What type of ceiling clearance do you need for the pavilion? What do you plan on putting underneath there? If the ceiling clearance is lower the structure can be a bit stronger with proper bracing etc. I'll wait for your response and then I'll respond again.

@@troxelservices The ceiling clearance will probably be 9'6", which will be high enough for our tesla and Key West boat (with canopy). If we ever sell the home, then it would also be high enough for a class B or C motor home (I think). We have 47 feet to work with on the side of our home, so the length of the pavilion is still not determined. We only may need a 22 ft pavilion, and then the remaining 25 feet could be a large room, which will be attached to our existing stilted home. So we would need 10 - 8x8" support timber posts (spaced about 12 ft apart, 5 on each side) and the entire structure can be 30 inches from our house. We can connect the large room to the house with a walkway. I think it is best to email you...

Super build. Could you have done this length with 4 instead of 5 trusses?
@troxelservices Жыл бұрын
I thought about this but I believe for this length and with the number of posts and the type of structure we built, five trusses were the way to go for sure. however, feel free to call me at 901-671-8219 and I would be glad to talk through more of the reasons why I believe five trusses was important.

19% is not uncommon for inverters .dc lights are better and cheaper

Agreed. We are going to us DC lights next time and for our new TS building we are building next year
