I had Adidas F50s and the soles were rock hard and completely flat but you never got badly hurt by getting stepped on. Now, boots form to your foot nicely, but you can't caress the ball and it feels like your foot has a hole right through the middle of it when you get stepped on. Need some give and take. Not found a balanced boot for a long time.
@Gummigoo_under_the_map6 жыл бұрын
Oh god I had those exact blue F50 tunit boots, yeah, they definitely should be on this list, everything you say about them I experienced. They weren’t comfortable, the velcro tongue was just awkward, screwing the studs in was a massive pain in the ass and I lost studs til I eventually didn’t have enough studs left to actually be able to play and I just gave up on the things. It was super easy to strip the screws which basically rendered them useless and the little wrench they gave you was made of plastic and was super awkward when trying to actually screw the studs in because the things just kept popping out the wrench.

I started off with the Mondel, then ADIDAS Maradonna, the finished my final 6 years playing in ADIDAS Predator's on my boot deal. Now I get the new Pred's for free as a coach as I wear them in the technical area on match days, with the rep giving me a new pair if they know we will be shown on TV highlights or get to the 3rd round of the FA Cup. While I never fell for "Power Pulse", it's more for the kids. Those playing Park Football are better off with the heavier boot and leather upper, plus a more robust sole for protection. Don't you think there's a connection between boots getting lighter and more Metatarsal breaks?

Exactly my thoughts. The predators of that era were imo the greatest boot ever made. After a couple years of use (stolen most likely), he contacted them and told them they were failing and losing studs so they arranged to receive the white and pink later F50s and hard ground variant ahead of time again. I've used that stud pattern on multiple Lotto boots and can honestly say that it make absolutely no noticeable difference. @Soccerreviewsforyou6 жыл бұрын
Both have been done. Zoom never really caught on, and I personally don't think made much of a noticeable difference. The Boost that Adidas has put in a few different boots was so thin, that it just doesn't feel like Boost. It ends up feeling like any other foam insole.
@Starcraft2Union6 жыл бұрын
@@Soccerreviewsforyou Ah I see, thank you replying. I guess football and basketball are being played on very different surface afterall. I've actually been trying to find a pair affordable enough to have again. Most are running around $2-300 even to this day, and mostly because of them being vintage boots. Hey Josh. My nike tiempo legend elite boots just cracked at the exact same spot as you said the vapor 4 SL's would do. Is this a common thing?

If it's going to crack, that's typically the spot wear it happens. Age would be a factor at this point as well.

You can say all you want about the spotlight 2.0 but they are good cleats for kicking field goals and they are really light

The biggest fail is probably from customers who think buying those "new techs boots" will prevent them from sucking at football.

Can you still do the interchangeable thing with models that are out now? Like if you bought TPU studs and replaced SG studs on any adidas cleat

That's a very different, much more simple and solid system. Also, those studs are not meant or designed to be swapped out with plastic ones. The only reason they're removable is so you can replace them once they wear down, which will happen given that they're made from a softer metal.

I disagree with your comment on the +50.6 Tunit. I wore those boots for three years which included college training and games and also had a run for its money with club football while playing for college. it was a great idea. I lost no studs however I did ruin my steel studs. The only reason why i changed my boot was that the boot was cut open during its last game. It was a really good pair also very durable as it was my go-to boots for 3 years, if I could find some I would buy it again.

Agree with you had a pair through 2 years of school footie and Sunday league must of wore them 3 times a week training plus 2 games a week only lost 3/4 studs just out grew them

Hello Jürgen! Just to let you know: On current generation SG adidas boots there is the exact same message on the soleplate as on the F50.6 Tunit. So they still haven‘t changed that

I owned two of the boots you mentioned. 15 year old me thought the f50 tune it would be a great investment. Omg was I wrong. Heavy, lost studs, stripped screws. Oh and if they were not completely clean sand could get into the threading and ruin it. The Pumas were better I guess. Super light, but tore them after 15 games or so. Stupid high school me wanted to show off to my friends and didn't take in to account my finances.
