The reasons you hate it are the reasons I bought it. Simplicity with no complications. Didn’t intend to do long rides but the fuel range is annoying. I’m only getting around 130 miles

I’d say that’s about right for the scram. I’ve got 150 before but, that was riding it tamely rather than “spiritedly”

Bloody hell! Call me 'old school', but most of your gripes are why I'd buy the bike (2nd hand). I don't want all those effin digital controls...gimme analogue! Who needs a pillion pad? Get a non-scrambler bike if the missus has to come out with you. And the tank range is what we used to have in earlier days....bite it or change it. To me it's a bloody good bike and on my list for the stable.

I have the scrambler 900 2017 and found that the bike loves drinking fuel! However, I did a few tests last week with E10 and E5 petrol. Going out down the countryside on Tuesday, I used E10 and my fuel light turned on around 110 miles. On Thursday I used E5 and my trip was exactly the same and the light turned on around 140 miles. I've only started using E5 in the Triumph as somehow it lasts longer? I'm not here to start a debate with anyone by the way! Just my experience 😅
@Nomad_Scrambler
@Nomad_Scrambler 8 ай бұрын
Couldn’t agree more the E5 runs much better in my bike and the price difference is barely noticeable when filling up, only run E5 in my bike and E10 as a last resort! Thanks for the insight as it’s what the comments are for!

I recently watched a vid where they put a T120 tank, wich has 2 litres more, on a scrambler. Looked a little more bulky. What grinds my gears is the short front mud guard. The radiator just gets pummeled by everything you drive over and looks like crap after just a few hours of driving. In rain it´s almost instant.
@Nomad_Scrambler

I feel you especially in the uk when it’s always raining! Went high mudguard on mine and love it even if I am constantly washing the bike. 2 extra litres would work out sweet for the Scramhler! A nice sweet spot I reckon

Did you not make a list of your needs before buying? Every thing you criticise was known before purchase! As with other comments the reason you give are all reasons for me buying the scrambler. Simplicity, no gimmicks/gadgets. Even the tyres - possibly not my first choice but a tyre that is rated by many adventure bike riders! Mate you simply bought the wrong bike for your needs.

The bike sounds fantastic. The range does seem a bit low, 12 lts is too small. My 1988 Low Rider has 16 lt and my 2022 Panam has 21 lt, giving it 250 miles range when touring, it sounds fantastic with a V&H muffler.

Awesome scrambler! Only thing I'd say is it's a scrambler, part of the original design of the scrambler and bobber style motorcycles is that they're minimalist bikes, so asking for more tech on a scrambler goes against the design philosophy of the scrambler. Really the 900 street scrambler is more of a true scrambler than the higher 1200 Triumph scrambler, with all their tech and offroad specialized parts.

I agree with you. This is a “pure” ish machine. I want simplicity, not gizmos and gadgets, USB in a bike who cares!! I’d even be happier if it had simple analogue gauges. If you want tech on a bike look at something else, figuratively speaking.

I hate dual clocks. I like the simplicity of it and the lay-out. My only gripe for technology is a handlebar area doesn't have USB. Fuel is a bit sucky. I like the tyres. They get hard rutted dirt roads in Oz and potholes the size of boilers. Agree on the pillion. I did put a rack with grabs on it. Tbf, my #1 gripe is suspension. I've now got Ohlins and progressive adjustable springs at the front. If it rode bumps like a V-strom this'd be a much more likeable proposition .

I don’t mind the lack of usb up front because I just run my wires under the tank to the under seat usb. Fuel consumption can be high. Personally the Perrellis I have on atm corner so much better. 100% agree with the shocks they could be so much better and even maybe a little rise in height because sometimes I feel a little low down

You need a 1200. The 900 is basically a town bike. Plus may I recommend Continental TKC-Rocks tyres. I have owned 2 Scrambler 900’s. I always wanted a 1200xc, but I am too short for it. The 1200x is just a rip-off. I could try to lower the XC but I actually went for a lighter Italian bike. The new bike is only 175 kilos as opposed to the 223 kilos on the 900. Definitely more flickable but I will miss the sound of the Triumph. 😉🙏

It should come with a center stand, standard, especially for that price. All classic Triumphs were equipped with centerstands, standard. Also agree about the dumb ineffective short front fender comments. Also I think Triumph is "cheaping out" by not delivering the bikes with polished or chrome cases and chrome wheels like they used to in the 2000's, when they were really trying hard. Now it seems like they are coasting and cutting corners. Even the dual tone "paint" isn't paint --- the stripe is a decal. The 2000s bikes had 2 tone paint, with a hand painted pinstripe. I don't want the tech. I want to ride the bike. I don't want a computer chip riding the bike for me.

@@Nomad_Scrambler hm, well, I can't live without a center stand. It gets the back wheel off the ground and the front wheel touches the ground very lightly and the front wheel, too, can easily be raised off the ground. You can do a million things. Change tires, chain, sprockets, fork oil, grease headway bearings, change oil, and on. I prefer the polished aluminum and chrome for 2 main reason. First, that's how the originals came...so if I'm buying a bike in large part for its looks, I'd like it to look more like originals. It's weird that Triumph literally makes the engine to look exactly like a T120R 650 engine, but then paints it black? Second, black cases scuff easily, and then eventually wear through down to the aluminum where you boots touch it. Also can't keep black clean. I had a black bike once, and in 2 or 3 hours it'd show every bit of road dust and look like hell again.
