My favourite chicken rice is on the corner of (this is a long one) Soi Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra 1 in Silom, little old couple run it, it’s so goood! Highly recommend, also down same Soi is a popular market for the workers in the area, there is a good chicken rice in there as well. I’m usually the only farang in there

80% of these khao mun gai shops have the fried chickens but in Japan only 5% has both the boiled chicken and the fried chicken combinations and therefore, most Japanese dont know that these establishments serve both. When I went to Thailand for the 1st time about 30 years ago, I also didnt know it but once you eat them both on 1 dish or 2 dishes, boiled and fried, you really cant order any longer just either. It is one of my favorite dishes when I goto Thailand and you can get them almost every province and Thai chickens are superb !! Its one of my top 10 foods in Thailand.

It becomes like porridge when they just put it on a bowl of soup. Chicken skin is only delicious when fried or roasted, totally agree.

I'm loving these 'best ofs', diving far and wide into your diverse back catalogue of Thai food! Great way for lovers of your channel, or even those searching for a specific Thai style of food, to access multiple providers of that style in Bangkok. And to boot, presented by Thailand's best food blogger! When there in July we'll head to Jack's, then along the canal to Hiso Curry Rice Pa Aew, and with stomachs bursting, round out at Pan Fried Chicken Noodles Pien!!! Keep up the great work, Gary!!

Hey Gary. Keep your chin up fella. Weirdly I’ve just spent the weekend in the big mango, Walked nearly 70km from Thursday to Monday. Loved the Thonburi vibe. Just wasn’t feeling the hunger. Watched a disappointing cup final (no bars open) I’ve just got the train down to HH, then pigged out on Pai Mai market C ya.

Greetings from Essex Gary. Watching your Kao Mun Gai store crawl over my muesli breakfast reminded me of my childhood when Kao Mun Gai was my nearly daily breakfast. My best Kao Mun Gai had to come with liver, heart, blood cake aka black tofu for some westerners and guen or guts. It is hard to find them on street stalls these days. If you find any, pls let me know.
Khaow mun kai can find everywhere but only few shop are good. everyone can cook eadily but very hard to make it delicious.

I love Khao Mun Gai. Not easy to find good one. Sometimes the rise sticky, sometimes the soup without chiucken taste or the chicken not juicy. Will try especially Jack! (On my way to Wat Suthat:)

Hainanese chicken rice is so good everyone and their mother in this region adopted the food, but it surprised me that it’s Thai that first paired crispy fried chicken with the classic dish.
