One thing I’ve learned is, and I’m sorry for going against what you said, but you don’t always have to go to your lowest aperature. If you find a good light source you can get pictures better in focus if you choose a decent aperature. If you have a full frame camera that does well in low light setting, you can even get away with doing this with minimal light.

Thanks Pierre. Love your energy in the videos. Quick question, do you use the hood for general protection of the lens or to shield from stray light? I try to keep the whole camera/lens as small as possible to not stand out, but wondering if I'm missing something. I have an 85mm so already somewhat larger profile.
@gundamaction1201
@gundamaction1201 2 жыл бұрын
I generally just use the lens hood and it works fine. I don’t know if there’s any other way if lens hood is too much of a profile. I do understand why you wanna keep a low profile though

I like to use my Rokinon 20mm 1.8 for night photography on my Asp-c camera . The other lens I use is my 50mm1.4 Takumar which ccan be hard to focus at night do to its shallow depth of field but set 2.0 or 2.8 not a problem. Depending on the camera I limit my ISO to 6400 or 12800 both with some noise but acceptable. I found in post editing I need to adjust the Gamma correction on the plus side to reduce the shadows

Tip 1 - Make sure your camera's sensor doesn't suffer from seriously maddening levels of noise in low light. If my (frankly shitty NX11) camera tried to take the picture at 0:53 it'd look like she was walking in a heavy snow-storm, actually, come to think of it, you'd be lucky to see anyone in the shot at all! Cheap-as-f*** sensors are just *no* good at low light, especially ones that are over 10 years old! Does anyone want my camera? Hit me up.
