I was rather shocked at how good it looks. That is stunning. I always said though I relaly wished the A1200 came with fast ram from the start. Even if it was 1mb/1mb. The extra performance for the baseline would have been so much higher.

EON sounds like a good idea, but that video makes it look like it has the same problems as Shadow of the Beast - looks and sounds good, but the gameplay is flawed... I just did a feature on Scorpion Engine for Retro Gamer issue 236, it has so much potential.

I suspect the reason why this be the case is because of high cost and lack of demand, but, I'd so buy these games on floppy disks if developers made that an option. My A1200's floppy drive is crying out for an AGA version of Turrican 2

The rocks actually look better in the ECS Turrican 2, look at 0:35, in the AGA version, they clearly look super flat and too clean, but you don't have this feeling in the original version, they actually look more realistic. It's a problem most remakes have especially when going "HD", suddenly they look a lot worse. The 4th game looks excellent, great atmosphere.

Thing is some games I’ve seen that are new push the Amiga in a better fashion, wonderboy could be mush more plush since I had it on the master system and it dosent look miles ahead. And I thought chaos engine the second the next game come up. I used to want an Amiga when I saw it in the back pages of magazines but wasn’t in the category to attain it back then. And was wondering why people spend 600 quid on an accelerator card. Slowly this following is growing on me

the Turrican 2 intro of PC version (AGA version being just a port) doesn't look absolutely fantastic. In fact it absolutely sucks (especially Bren's look and totally replaced scene where he enters the equipment room - the new scene looks like he's having a headache) and is the biggest disadvantage compared to the true Amiga version (amongst a few others - just to mention no animated title or aliens instead of eyeballs in the last level). Thanks god that they kept the original Huelsbeck's soundtrack.

It is a Doom inspired first person shooter in development that runs full screen and smoothly (and looks amazing) on a stock Amiga 500 with 1mb RAM. Truly a programming marvel. Turrican II being probably my most favorite game on the Amiga, I don't think it needed an AGA version. I like the AGA water effect more, but I 100% like the OCS copper background gradient more. It's charm is completely lost to me with the smooth gradient. Great to see all this development though!

Shadow of the Beast had great graphics and sound, but the gameplay wasn't too good. Most people probably finished it by way of cheat (unlimited health).
