I found as a guard it was just easer to let the OG's take care of the problems on the units they, knew what heat that the "Gun Hoe" Staff could bring and they never knew the rotation of staff. I just told the OG's to keep it quiet and keep any eye out for the SGT. and not to leave blood or bother me. And always make sure the inmate TV from the inmate that slept next to the officers cage window was facing me with the closed caption on and facing my chair. Quiet, Entertained and I would not get in trouble we all lived in peace and for 22 years it worked.

I worked with offenders at a facility that were allowed to operate chainsaws and utility vehicles but they were not allowed to possess a plastic fork. They were allowed to take their shirts off under their jumpsuit but were not allowed to take the top of their jumpsuit off. They were also allowed to smoke cigarettes at the facility but were not allowed to bring cigarettes out to work to smoke during breaks.

In South Carolina if we hadn’t shaved our face we would get turned around lose our meal and get sent back to the dorm even if it was just a 5’ o’clock shadow from shaving the day before ... but that one will hurt ya, especially for missing dinner at 4:30pm and having to make it until 7-8am for “breakfast” again the next morning smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

I've personally seen people get sent to the hole for stealing muffins to eat while working in the kitchen. Lol and as far as the t.v. thing, when I was in prison we could have our personal t.v's running 24/7, and I've never heard of prisons making you watch your t.v. with headphones. The 2 county jails by me tho you gotta buy a radio and headphones to listen to the t.v. thats in the pod. And I've def. Heard that rumor about them not wanting you to work out because they don't want you getting too big, because they wanna be able to control you.

While I was in County Jail there a couple of guys that wrap themselves in trash bags and do "Burpees" during rec. They were written up for misusing housekeeping materials or something like that, one got pissed and challenged the charge and was transferred out. The guys were already sentenced and awaiting transport, 9 years each, and were trying to get fit. Dude was my neighbor and was telling me he really thought he was gonna get off the charge so he was just being lazy the whole time, homeboy needed to drop like 40 asap.

In the UK My local prison used to make us do 15-20min warm up before Gym 10 min after then shower, if you wanted to go 3-4 times in a week you HAD to attend circuit training on Saturday & Sunday We had the same conspiracy they don’t want us getting too big

About the TV, the JRCF didn't have personal TVs. We had 2 TVs for the entire pod set up in the pod's day area, with one cell designated as the ones using the remote TV or it each day. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was movie night so it would get hectic. We would only be able to listen to it with a plastic pocket radio tuned to a specific station and headphones plugged into the radio. Once it came time for lights out, the TV's went off and we had 2 minutes for everyone to get to their cells and shut the doors, or you'd catch a charge. Had one dude miss that 2 minutes by accident since he was using the cell designated as a latrine to take a shit because his cellie was also taking a shit, and he still got sent to the SHU.

Most essential oils need to be diffuse before they can be applied topically joe. I suggest frationated coconut oil or any neutral cooking oil but you can't premix if you use cooking oil as it goes off where as coconut oil doesn't rot and the frationated varieties don't smell of coconut.

I don't understand about making more palatable food by combining various commissary items. What are you expected to do with a tub of cheese? Are there instructions/suggestion on the label? Yet they sell peanut butter & jelly? Are you allowed to spread it on a cracker? You are combining sugar (and possibly creamer) with coffee. This is not like making a tatoo gun. B.S. charge, in this case.

Most of the time guards don’t care but if you had one who didn’t like someone they could charge them, most guards don’t probably want trouble when you have 200+ and 2 guards as long as it’s nothing serious then most likely turn a blind eye especially with making food. I’ve heard some guards go on respect if you are causing trouble, drawing attention and blatantly being disrespectful then they won’t take it.
