I once ate a moray eel and it was one of the rankest meats I've ever eaten. I later discovered I'd dodged a bullet, as morays have a habit of preying on fish that eat toxic algae.

I'm an amateur entomologist from Canada. Other than some bees and wasps (especially if you're allergic) there isn't much you need to be worried about in Canada. There are some arachnids (spiders and ticks in particular) that can be a problem however.

Strange thing from history Emplastrum cantharidis, was a bandage with spanish fly. What I have read it "worked" since it irritate the skin and the skinirriation “diverse” from other pain.

I ran into the ruff skin newt a few times. Its the least colourful of our toxic newts and is often mis identified for one of the low toxic ones.

Unless you're feeding them the types of toxic bugs that they'd eat in the wild then they're not toxic whatsoever. That's why it's legal to own dart frogs in the first place.

They are super cute. And fun fact: Garter snakes will sequester newt toxin in their livers, making THEM poisonous to predators.
