You absolutely need no feedback. What you're presenting here is gold! No one explains these types of tips and dilemmas. Most channels focus more on the music and how it sounds at the end of a video and not explaining the subtle details that make up the core of any orchestration. I love your content, it definitely helps tremendously. Keep up the good work and thank you for taking the time to make such videos.

Marc, this is fantastic. This is exactly the kind of principles my music teacher enforced on our Wind Ensemble years back. Please please please do a long format video expanding on this. This is wonderful information and it will benefit more than just Film Composers. This benefits all composers.

Hi! you do add a lot of value and it's amazing to watch a pro at work. Thank you for your time, I have learned a lot! Could you make a (big:) video on mixing a hybrid, opening the mix i that context, balancing the project, what synths do you use (do you sound design?) ... wow it's a lot so maybe you give us also a complete mastering video :D Thank you for the videos already made and hope to see many in the future! Keep going you're doing great!

Hey Marc, former student here. All I write in this project started with a course at Cinematic Composing a couple of years ago. Please do continue to do orchestration videos. I just love colouring the pieces but I end up falling back to the same blends because I haven't developed the ear yet. Listening to orchestras is great but with this piece of additional knowledge it's easier to "search" for colours. Keep up the great work, it's appreciated!

Hey, Marc! I've been following the e-mails and occasionally the videos for quite some time now, and I must say, as interesting as some of the previous ones were, THIS is what is lacking in general everywhere on KZbin! I particularly LOOOVE that you're just exploding with phrases and ideas and sometimes I have to stop and rewind 5 seconds to fully grasp the concept; but maybe, speaking from a general audience point of view, this is way too condensed and fast. Anyways, you'll have to wait for more feedback to know if that evens holds up! Qué buen trabajo han hecho (vosotros y todos que han participado) aquí!

So does this mean the double bass and the tubas can be most easily left out in a band context? Because then you’ll have a bass guitar to do that job.

Bass instruments: you are wrong: one of THE most gutsy orchestral bass sources is the contra bassoon. Much gutsier than the tuba. Contra bassoon: Superb in accompanying that lyrical string ensemble making the floor literary tremble when in support of the double basses. Like no other.
