My motivation would have been inversely porportional to the amount of food in my pack. I've been there, raining, wet clothes, and overcast. The prospect of town would get me moving eventually.

I usually wait until I get close to a trail town in order to get cell service. Then I’ll call the hotel directly from the trail and make reservations.

It was right in the middle of the trail! Maybe a bobcat or a young cougar. WOW!
