Dude! Welcome back and congratulations!!! There is nothing better than kids in this life, and I know you’ve got to be an awesome father. Happy you’re back!

Thanks Carl. I appreciate it, really :) And you’re right, it’s been an amazing adventure and I’m only 3 months in. Enjoy the break mate.

Your build also contributes to your Jean fit as well. A classic fit looks like a baggy fit on me and what most people would consider most slim fit is a classic fit on me . Congratulations on being a new father.

I’m glad your back and I’m even happier that everything is well with your new family. While you were gone I re-watched a video from a few months ago where you had a comment from an older dude who said we shouldn’t be afraid to wash our jeans. He made a point to say that every time he gets a new pair, he washes and drys them twice just to break them in. Well, I decided to try it out on a new pair of 18oz jeans. I had been wearing them for about three weeks straight and was having a hard time with my junk getting caught, in what felt like a Vice, every time I took a large step. These jeans are no joke before they break in, lol. Anyway, I decided to try it and wow! I still turned them inside out for the washes, but what they did to my jeans was a game-changer. For me at least. It brought out an electric blue color that is amazing, and while they still feel nice and thick, my legs no longer feel like they are getting a severe workout with every step. I’m not really into the high-contrast fades, so this may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I like the subtle fades and the electric hues. The Jeans are Brave Star 18oz “Saber” from a loom in Japan. Also, I washed them in a regular cycle, and dried them in the dryer. Inside-out in the washer, right-side out for the dryer. I’m still going to wait a while between wears, but I think I’ll be washing them a lot more in the future than what I had been planning. Like maybe once every three months or so. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for putting that Dude’s comment up there for us all to see. And congratulations 🎊🎈🍾🎉! Sleep is overrated anyway 😉

What about the Edwin Marlon jeans, with comfort and ease in mind and the crop to add the modern touch? This is the new "dad" jean I think.

American suburban dad with a 14 year old son. I wear Levis LVC 1947's, my son wears LVC 505's. With babies you're better off in tab twills or take yourself down the vintage Champion reverse weave rabbit hole till you've memorized all the labels and have a closet full of sweaters from schools you didn't go to.

That rabbit hole is deep.

My baby girl is almost 9 months old. Congrats! I have been rocking my dad jeans the whole time: Flat Head 8002 Heavyweight 18oz Denim Jean - Slim Tapered - Unsanforized. I bought them a few days before the first lock down, in early 2020. I have not added them to the laundry rotation any more frequently than before the baby, but to each their own. They just get more wear and grime. Especially the knees have started fading to white much faster since I am constantly down in my knees with her.
@Slavetilidie2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations!!! Appreciate all that I've learned about denim thanks to you and am glad you're back. I have a 3 and 5 year old, and I realized pretty quickly that I needed to be able to crouch for extended periods of time, cross my legs as I play with them, and just be variously Gumby-like. My first legit selvedge purchase was a pair of Nudie dry Grim Tim selvedge (purchased based on your vids), and I love them. They took some time to mold to me and stretch to suit my dad lifestyle, but now they're great. When my first was still really little, I went cross-legged to play with her on the floor, and something in the crotch of my Nudies went "POP." lol I have never been able to figure out what made that sound. The jeans are fine. I think that most high quality denim will work itself out. You just have to not care if your $300 pair of whatevers gets shit on/spit on/etc, and you're good. lol Laughed out loud @"even a brief jaunt to a cafe involves military grade precision and logistics." So true. So damn true. :)
@CeeAreDee2 жыл бұрын
haha, yeah the trials and tribulations of the dad life. But one smile from the little one and all the late nights and the "matter" as 1000% worth it. As for that pop, I would guess it was one of the main threads running over that area. If you've not noticed anything unraveling however, you're good. These areas are double of triple stitched for good reason, little inbuilt redundancy.
@Slavetilidie2 жыл бұрын
@@CeeAreDee Totally agree re:the worth, and thanks for the info. I've inspected the Nudies fairly closely, and nothing looks amiss, so I'm calling it good. BTW, just ignore the haters - you do great work here, and those of us who aren't assholes really appreciate it. lol

@CeeAreDee2 жыл бұрын
Always think of the boyfriend fit as strictly a women's fit. Made to look like they borrowed their boyfriend jeans but still with a bit of shape to them.
@lovemadeinjapan Жыл бұрын
Instead of hunting down non-existing nice dressing dad-jeans, go after vintage mom jeans, which are smaller on the hips. They are way more stylish on men. For example a Levi's 550 (not the new relaxed dad model, but the nineties mom model). They beat a 501 cut.
