Just a handy tip make sure you get a JR railpass if you're planning to use the shinkansen/bullet train. It'll pay for itself after 3 trips (eg. 1 return trip + a one way trip), shinkansen tickets are surprisingly expensive, it costs roughly AU$180 (US$120) one way from Tokyo to Osaka while a 7 day railpass costs AU$350 (US$235).

I’ve been to everyone of these locations, highly recommended! These are things you don’t forget, Japan is beautiful, can be expensive, but it is worth it!. Im currently learning Japanese, so when I turn 16 I can fly to Japan and live with my grandma for a month or two. I’ll get to explore on my own, I can’t wait!

Ahh I live in Okinawa! It has become such a popular tourist destination over the years. It is so lovely and I highly encourage checking out the northern end of the island and even other islands (Ishigaki, Iriomote, Zamami, etc) because they might be even more beautiful than Okinawa. There is so much to do and see here and I highly recommend it :)

Hokkaido definitely!!! How could you not include beer capital Sapporo in a feature like this. You guys could absolutely do a whole series on this topic. You don't have to focus solely on prefectures...dial in a little bit more.

Never see it on lists, but I recommend visiting the the upper western part of Japan too! I've lived in Shimane prefecture for the past two 1/2 years and I absolutely love the location! Izumo Taisha shrine, Oki Islands, the sand dunes in Tottori are just a few examples of things to visit! More people need to know about this area! And, it's only a few hours north of Hiroshima by bus, so it's relatively easy to get to!
