I've been trying to figure out how to use the Draw mask feature along with the color correction options to customize the mask as a power window--in ways more detailed than just the built-in 'add mask' feature allows.

Thanks. The dependency on the Draw Mask and the tedious nature of frame-by-frame animation is a good example of why FCP needs a mask Selection Brush found in every photo app I know of and tracking for it. AI may help.

Here's one I used to be able to do in FCP7 but can't seem to do in FCP. I have an "over the shoulder" video and want to give ut a fancy, artisitic, shape. I used to be able to just drop the pre-created mask from a 3rd party company. Not I can't seem to do that. Would be a nice tip to have. Thanks

You’ll need to update Final Cut Pro if you don’t have object tracking.

In what way? I mean sure, you could use mRotoAI to isolate a subject and then add titles behind it by adding the title underneath that layer for example. 😄👊🏼

No unfortunately not. Currently, you can't track a draw mask in FCP.

So FCPX doesn't track draw mask? You have to keyframe manually.

Yeah unfortunately FCP doesn't track draw masks. It would be amazing if Apple introduced the ability to do that in a future update though! 🤞🏼

I'm Final Cut Editor but 2nd type of work is old fashion. I would go After Effects that type of transition. Final Cut must improve his self bro.

I'm also a heavy After Effects user but sometimes I don't want to be switching between apps and there are a lot of people who only have FCP (no AE). I would love to see some better masking tools in FCP, but with something like mRotoAI, I almost never rotoscope in AE anymore.

I disagree. Many people have commented in the past saying that they appreciate the way I am able to simplify concepts and the way I explain things. I also have to teach in a way that beginners, intermediate and advanced users can understand and get value form the tutorials. That means sometimes assuming that the audience has some knowledge of the basics, so as not to bore the advanced users. It also means trying to briefly mention the basics for editors that are new to the concept I am presenting. But thanks for your opinion.
