@@Brad_West I mastered fcpx. I have been using it for over a decade and it sucked from day one. A software that doesn't even work well with its own computers. Dehancer I paid $449 to dig in to files and trouble shoot in 2025. its a rip off . Davinci Resolve works better with Mac computers an has a better film look creator. I do not recommend Dehancer its all hype people.Fcpx will use up over 300gb in one project, totally wack. I do not edit stock footage, I edit footage that I film.

If I have videos that were recorded five days apart, and I put them in the multicam. Would the multicam space them five days apart? Like multicam wouldn’t leave like a five day gap in between the two videos would it.

Hi, great tutorial. But I cannot see the Icons on top of the imported videos that let me select whether to change AUDIO with the VIDEO or only VIDEO or only AUDIO. What did I miss?

Excellent explanation and delivered in a logical way which was easy to follow. One question I have is how to change black to white and back again? I have a black Labrador. The effect I want to create is him running along a path changing colour as he does so. I know the technique in general but black to white, not sure. To be clear the dog changes colour not the film to black and white. Any tips?

Yeah it's a little tricky with black and white since there is no hue. You could try using the magnetic mask to isolate the dog and then you can apply effects as you see fit. This video might help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmmrmJt_mZt6mac

When making the selection on the color curve, try grabbing one of the other points on the curve and moving it around. Does that help?

Great video. What do you recommend if the 4k footage is too slow (even 25% proxy) on a M1 Max on a Samsung 2000 mb/s SSD.

I do multiple layers of 4K video on my M1 Max and I don't have a problem. I would suggest testing it on the internal SSD to see if it's faster. If that is the case, there might be an issue with your SSD drive.

Can Auto Captions work with Music / Sung Dialog? Davinci Resolves 'Create Sub Titles From Audio' is about 50% to 60% accurate when trying to Transcribe Music voice, Little bit better when Using Voice Isolation first.

the PIP effect is super useful to tell a story in a music video or doc. The shortcuts were as well. I need help with importing timecode from deity tc-1 using the tascam fr av2 . This was super helpful so I subscribed. Thank you Brad West! I want to be able to monitor background tasks (command+9) from iOS devices so I can be notified when footage has completed importing so I don't have to wait near the cpu for confirmation. maybe even be able to pause certain tasks so you can control the import telling the cpu when to transcode say if you're at the gym...

That would be handy! The closest thing to that is being notified on your phone when an export finishes which you can do with CommandPost. Having a little more control like that would be nice!

Hi Brad - I just bought and watched your course on colour grading / excellent! Would you be planning by any chance similar kind of course regarding working with sound in FCP? - If so, I would definitely purchase. As you mentioned, we could tolerate poor quality video but not poor quality sound
