Came here for the tricks and I’m very thankful for your expertise. However, I gained even more just from watching your tutorial/production style. So quick and to the point without skipping important small steps. It’s not like you reinvented the wheel… you just did EVERYTHING a little better than other content creators of all niches that I’ve seen. Super clear and concise. You’re never overly extemporaneous (that’s a huge issue of mine). You also aren’t secretly gatekeeping from new users by intentionally using complex jargon while failing to explain it. A LOT of editors do that and I appreciated that you’re clearly confident enough in your skills that you’re not afraid to share the entirety while seeming encouraging. For all I know you eat babies every Saturday, but you come across as warm, welcoming, and proud to help. I at least feel like it says a lot about you. Absolute expert all around. Commented (obviously), subbed, liked, and all notifications turned on. In summation, you’re my new guru whether you like it or not. Lol WOW. I just realized the novel I just wrote lol. I have NEVER commented such a level of praise or written anywhere near as much on a KZbin comment in my life. I just feel you absolutely deserve to hear that you are incredible at what you’re doing all the way from the craft you’re teaching to the craft of demonstrating it. When someone is really good at this sort of thing they can almost make you forget they’re actually experts in multiple crafts. Huge props! Okay. Rant over. I don’t like being this nice. Gonna go yell at a random dog so I can return balance to the universe. 😂 🫡 ✌️ ❤️

@Brad_West. Love your video on FCPx tracker but can it be used to track a video clip in a video ,similar to how you added and tracked text and if so how? Thank you
@Brad_West Жыл бұрын
Yes, you certainly can. So first you track the object in your first clip, using the add track option in the inspector window. Then you drop the second clip on top of the first clip. Click on the transfrom icon at the bottom of the viewer window, or right-click on the viewer window and select "Transform". Then you should see a drop-down box at the top of the viewer window next to "tracker". From there you can select the track and the resize and position your clip accordingly. Hope that helps 😄👍🏼

You can most certainly track callouts with FCP’s built in tracking feature. The entire title/template will track with whatever object you track. Great Video! 🔥🔥🔥 Special question: I‘m going to track an object (video) from a B-Roll video that should correspond to an object (video) within the A-Roll. Both objects are moving (little zoom and rotation) in different ways by default. Is this possible by using the tracker feature? Multible instances?
@Brad_West2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! I'm not 100% sure I understand what you mean. You want to track the movement of the broll and apply that movement to an object in the A roll? You would likely need to isolate the object in the A roll first.
@electrosquash67062 ай бұрын
@ Here an example; An iPad is moving a bit (A-Roll), Now I‘m going to show a video (B-Roll) on the screen of the iPad. My issue is that both clips are in motion and I want to bring them together in an appropriate way. So I thought about auto-tracking each to a specific „center-point“. I tried it with keyfranes but the result is not good enough….

Great video! Hey, I'm trying to put a logo on a butternut squash rolling across a table. The issue I'm having is I want the logo to disappear as if it is attached to one spot on the butternut squash and is rolling around the squash. What would you use in final cut?

I think Pixel Film Studios has a surface tracker plugin that might do the job, although I haven’t tried it out. It’s not the easiest effect to pull off. There are probably ways to do it in after effects as well if you have it. If you get it right feel free to share a link so I can see it 😄👍🏼

I have just liked and followed you! it is a new feature and thanks for sharing. just a quick question, what if you have to track a object get out of the screen or come into the screen? does the tracker can also make the logo/text disappear or appear?
@Brad_West2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the support! The tracker will be able to track something until it gets to the edge of the screen. After that you would need to go frame by frame adjusting the trackers position in order to manually “move or track” it off screen. I hope that helps! 🤞🏼

Hi Brad, first of all great channel and fantastic tutorials. For some reason i don't see the link icon between Mask and Tracker as you show in the first exapmle. Do you know how to fix it? Greetings from Poland.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Did you drag and drop an effect to the clip in order to do the track, or did you click at the bottom of the inspector window to add a new track?
@planetinthelens Жыл бұрын
@@Brad_WestHi Brad, thanks for the answer. I used inspector to add the tracker.
@Brad_West Жыл бұрын
@planetinthelens Maybe try drag the effect you want to use, onto the clip directly. Adjust your tracker and retrack. You should have the drop down arrow then.

I have been using Filmora for a couple of years and just started on FCP. I find FCP confusing and overly heavy to use. I am still learning maybe I will end up using FCP full time but I doubt it
