Thank you Jack wherever you are. You are missed. Not only am I a millionaire because I listened to Jack all those years ago, I have gained a wisdom that is beyond money. A wisdom about a life well lived and never giving up when faced with diversity. Jack has been my inspiration and mentor for all these years. Thank you St. Jack, I hope you are aware of how many lives you have changed!

5 principles of investing: Jack Bogle 1. Invest you must. Short term price volatility turns into long term CI returns. Never think you know more than the market 2. Give yourself all the time, time heals everything, give time, time. CI is miracle and time is your friend, impulse is your enemy. 3. This too shall pass away, your emotions should be kept out of your investments. 4. Rely on simplicity: Sensible asset allocation, diversified funds, buy at low costs. 5. Stay the course no matter what happens.

To which charlie said- if you mix raising with turds they are still turds aka mix something as good as value investing with something as bad as active investing the result will be zero cause anything multiplied with zero will always give out a big zero my friend.

I mean globalisation has happened, global GDP has grown hugely, global poverty is way down and China has overtaken US GDP at least on a PPP basis. The article was just very optimistic and wrong on the environment.
