I have had a great time! Was rainy day outdoors so I've set up my QRP equipment at the living room :-D right next to my couch... Enjoyed new homemade mcHF QRP transceiver (m0nka) and the UltraLight MLA v.4.

I've made 5 beautiful QRP QSO's across the Europe to Sweden, France, England, Belgium and Poland. Just for information. My appartment is situated on the 8th floor and made of the steelconcrete. Antenna was located approx.1m from the window.

Fantastic couch you've got! And a nice antenna too ! This inspired me to dig deep down into my garage and find an old home made magloop made of coax and with the remote tuning control . So after your nice video now I have the motivation to modify this loop a bit and try it out from my coach or , better, from my backyard ! I will make my own video on this and let everybody know! I think this video has sold me on getting a loop antenna and a qrp setup for my first radio after I pass the licence exam. I'm on the 2nd flor with a balcony where I can put the antenna, I was going to buy Yaesu ft70 HT for FM and c4fm but now my options have widened. Thak you.

Thank you for your comment! 😊👍 But don't forget that you have to manually tune your Magloop on every new frequency you want to transmit on. That's why I use my Magloop right next to me, because I have always tuned Magloop before calling station 🙂 Have a nice day! Paul

Ahoj Palo, super! Také mám mcHF (mimo jiných)a poslední dobou experimentuju s REMOTE. Nejčastěji HPSDR (Hermes Lite2 DDC/DUC SDR a 5W) ale na velkých anténách (3el.mono yagi 20,15,10). Je krása koukat jak to chodí na minimum a potvrzuje to, že je lepší cokoliv, než vůbec nic! Výmluvy že nemohu dát antény ven už neplatí. 73 Jirka2IT

Thanks Yury for the nice comment! :) It's the matter on a personal requirements. My requirements are most "portable" as possible, that's why I use the XIEGU much often on my QRP advantures because it has internal battery, built-in tuner, PTT button and internal microphone. No cables at all instead of coaxial cable. BUT only 5W :) The mcHF TRX runs 5-10W and has waterfall+spectrumscope which is very missing on a Xiegu. Both radios are great and I like them all :)

Hi Paul, I do also enjoy using my mcHF for hamming with a variety of antennas, whip, EFHW and MLA as well. But I do noticed you run yours with a noticeably high SWR level. Is that typical in your MLA operations or just something specific for the video ocassion or the indoor location you were running from?

No, the SWR on my Magloops is mostly between 1:1-1.5 but in this video I have got some bug on my transceiver. Maybe strong RFi or something :)

Hello there, i have got the new "mchf" chinese clone, but it seems ok, it has the latest firmware and so on, i cant build the kit myself, qnd i cant seem to find the original Monka version anywhere, so then i had to get a chinese clone, now im thinking of antennas, and this one, the MC-20 maybe are maybe what i need, but sadly it is alittle expencive for me right now, i have also looked at the HF-P1 antenna, but what to choose??? 🤔 i love QRP and 20w with maybe a Xiegu G90 is the max i want to use. 73 from LA-M160560 Norway.

Yes of course I know 🙂 but is not required to use it with my Magloop antenna, because this loop is actually a tuner it self 😄 I can tune it to 1:1 almost on all bands 👍
