Every winter a lot of my indoor plants die.I watered them once a week but when it is spring or summer I watered them 2-3 times a week. This is true use your finger when checking the soil if it is wet or dry. Thank you for the very good information.

1:49 OMG, thank you so much for the gravel tip I've just added some stones to the bottom of my decorative pots for my succulents. My first succulent I accidentally 'unalived' beacuse I watered it AND didn't allow it to stop dripping wet before I placed it back in the pot. So it rotted & died. 😔

I have found you channel and have learned a great deal. I went to a plant swap at a garden shop and came home with 3 plants I had never heard. I have followed you site on the ZZ plant . Most "trace minerals" actually concentrate as tap water is left out. Chlorine is the exception. Keep making videos, theyre very helpful!

For #2 I have been using lids off of my vegan protein jars to raise the inner pot up, so any water still dripping when i put it back just goes directly down. Pumice and rock is expensive & takes up a lot of room, and the lids are up-cycling.

I use a Xiaomi plant sensor which gives me the temperature, soil moisture level, fertility and light level. It is battery powered and can be set up for specific plants.

Key overlooked point - gravel or rocks OUTSIDE of the pot. All gravel inside the pot does is raise the water floor since draining between different materials is slower especially when the higher up one is more water retaining
