I have been doing the same routine as you mentioned on another tape. Ladies Let me tell you, my 4c hair LOVES IT! I have never ever felt my (natural) hair so soft, so moisturizer, so easy to handle, wet or dry. It hold for about 4~5 days before I do a refresh. 4real! 4real! I Spritz my hair with water/glycerine mixture, after my deep conditioning, then leave in conditioner then lock it in with castor oil then twist my hair. At first I was turning into a product junkie, desperate to find the right product for my hair. then I realized how silly and expensive that was spending money just for the product to collect dust on the shelf😂 I can’t use it fast enough washing once a week. Camille Rose rosemary oil collection won the battle. Thanks CD

GLYCERIN actually close the hair cuticles. its perfect for high porosity hair. i don't understand why youtuber trying stop people from using it. i believe they trying stop people from being successful with their hair journey by advertising more product. Glycerin and protein is the only product you really need for length retention. Not oleplex and these expensive hair bands like shea moisture.

can you share your source stating glycerin closes the hair cuticles? appreciated 🌺

It does close the cuticles. I figured that out because my hair is smoother. My high porosity hair is usually rigid but when I put glycerine in my hair, my hair shaft smoothed out all over. And stayed that way with a healthier regiment

I just brought glycerine to the hair party and it is wonderful! I made a humectant water with just the glycerine and sat with a cap under my hood dryer for 30 minutes. The softness was crazy. I also seal with castor oil and that is the magic combo for my hair.

The myth of glycerin drying out hair arises from a misunderstanding of the nature of humectants. Humectants attract moisture from the surrounding environment and hold onto it, helping to keep hair, skin, or whatever surface they are applied to hydrated. People believe that in very dry conditions, humectants can draw moisture from the hair or skin and potentially release it into the atmosphere, however, humectants have not been shown to 'release' the moisture they have absorbed. The primary function of a humectant is to attract and retain the moisture within its molecules. They do not transfer or release moisture they've absorbed. This is why you do not use 100% glycerin. You have to dilute with water so that the moisture is already absorbed into its molecules before you transfer it to your hair or skin. So for as long as the hydrated glycerin molecules remain in your hair or on your skin, your hair and skin will remain hydrated irrespective of the weather.

I can make a video on youtube how I only use glycerin and water to grow my hair and my video will get deleted because of hair brands like shea moisture and mielle. Glycerin keeps my hair moisturize for days. Ever product I use my hair will end up dry in 1 hour. They want you to keep buying their products. It's best to get a healthy shampoo to clean the scalp and conditioner and leave in condition. That's the only thing you need to buy and gel for style

I have low porosity and simply using leave in and oil does not get the job done. I would have to re-moisturize maybe the next day. Since I’ve started using glycerin and hair grease. I don’t have to moisturize until the following was day. My curls are so defined as well. I can let my hair air dry and the curls are still defined and not frizzy. In comparison to the past, if I let me hair air dry I could barely see any curls at all.

Used Glycerin for the first time today. Love how my hair feels but may have used a tat bit too much, my scalp feels a bit sensitive. My hair usually dries out after a few hours of having applied my moisturiser, but NOT today. My hair feels lush. Going to add more water to the mixture next time and see if my scalp prefers that. Thank you for the video very informative

If you grew up in Zambia in the 80s, you definitely have lots of experience with glycerine. We applied it on our skin and minutes later there would be 'beads of water' forming. This shows you that glycerine is pulling water molecules to the area where glycerine was applied. We just didn't know the science and fancy term back then. Our grandmas added it to their top society body lotion. I can go on and on but just do your hair a gigantic favour and buy yourself some good quality glycerine.

While I absolutely love glycerin and also don't think it dries out hair in low-humidity environments, I would just like to point out that hair product manufacturers are not the most trustworthy people when it comes to giving honest, accurate information about ingredients. The point you make about them is... I believe you, I just don't trust product manufacturers as a source of information. I think we all know that they will say, or hide, whatever they have to to sell products, and they wrongfully market products all the time.

I live in north Europe and after watching your video on glycerine I bought and started using it. It was during the summer and my hair was looking great. However now that it's winter, I used glycerine and it was catastrophic to my hair. My hair gets so dry and oh my God I have to put it away. I think glycerin is good for people with lower porosity hair. I have naturally high porosity hair and products formulated with high amounts of glycerin dry my hair out. This is what I have experienced for myself, not what someone else has said about it. If glycerin works well for you thats great but it doesn't work well for everybody.
