Other towns outside of Nairobi will offer you affordable accommodation, land prices, food, etc. You will actually still get most of the conveniences available in Nairobi such as Malls, taxis, etc in towns like Nanyuki, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa, Thika, Nyeri, Meru, Malindi etc. Trust me, not many countries in Africa can beat what Kenya has to offer in terms of a balanced mix of everything. Let me just add, we'll accept you here just as one of us.

Seconded! A Kenyan born in Kenya and spent my early years at home but moved to northern europe at 10. I frequent Kenya at least once a year and last time I was there I bought some land in Limuru. I find Nairobi being exhausting and noisy so I preffer that outback lifestyle and besides, Kenya is fairly well developed in connectivity & being an engineer by profession, Im designing my own off-grid system to meet our needs. Also considering of getting meself one of those punda(s)😅 So yes, I would choose a satellight arms length region outside Nairobi for sure!

@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE what he said. My cousin's kids all go to private schools under the American system but they can afford it. Not all Kenyans can afford and many kids still perform very well in public schools. It all depends on what you can afford or what you prefer. Kenyan system schools are also good but it depends on what you want your kid to venture into when they grow up in terms of college or university studies. You could try the Kenyan system which is more of a British system style but modified somehow to suit Kenya then see how your baby performs or how he interacts with other children and see their textbooks to see if you are okay with it and if not then get some more money and let your children learn in private schools. Many Kenyan parents now do it but majority go to public schools. Depending on where you settle down if you choose Nairobi, you could take your kids to Nairobi Primary School, Westlands Primary School, Saint Georges, etc. All these are public schools but they are of a higher level when it comes to extra-curricular activities and also if you don't prefer your child going to school in eastlands (you may find out about that location of Nairobi one day). Not a bad place cause that is where I grew up but the surroundings are not very conducive to bring up kids I don't think. My opinion. Anyway, all the best in your decisions.

Anyone of Afrikan descent in diaspora can visit Kenya and do business without a visa? This was a month ago, maybe the video was a month too early. Great stuff for sure. Edit: legally by the constitution, you have to be a Kenya to outright own land, you can lease land and it will be under your name, legally protected for max 99 years if you wish and pay for that long of a lease. Before the 2010 constitution it was free for all, no local protections if any, and lease was capped at an absurd 999 years, thanks to British colonial laws 😅

I'm an expat in Kenya. You can't own land outright unless you're a citizen. I bought a shamba but had to transfer title to a Kenyan with the hopes of retrieving it when I become a citizen after 5 years of continuous legal residency. In few cases you can lease for 99 years. In order to become a permanent resident you have to prove guaranteed income outside of Kenya. You can't work unless you qualify under special circumstances. They want Kenyans to work and have secure employment which isn't taken by foreigners.

I've read the legalese with regards to those 7 years. But that is to become a Kenyan. There should be other legal ways to stay in Kenya long term without being Kenyan. For example, a work visa. Or through some kind of family reunion scheme. I recall an American who used the latter and was recognized as a a Kenyan after only a year. These things are the same when it comes to moving to a country in the EU. I believe it's even more draconian if you want to move to the US. It's not uncommon for countries to regulate these things. Or to expect something else.
@denlemagency341 Жыл бұрын
There are many short cuts through corruption but the safest way is just to follow the correct procedure
@safariyamaishayetu4144 Жыл бұрын
@@denlemagency341 But I'm not talking about corruption. In fact, I am pointing out that citizenship is not likely to be the correct procedure here. Being granted citizenship requires 7 years of living/working in Kenya, only leaving for no longer than what would be considered a regular tourist visit to a non Kenyan country. That infers that for the duration of those 7 years you would have some kind of legal long term staying permit such as through a work visa. Chaining tourist visas together will be both impossible, prohibitively expensive and probably illegal if you are at the same time working in the country. Because that work would probably be non declared and thus not taxed. Work visas I imagine would be cheaper though perhaps not be that cheap. Kenya is hardly different from any other country on this matter.
