When I first bought an Xbox, all I had to play was Conker and Halo CE, because that's all I could afford. When I first bought an Xbox 360, all I had was Gears 1 and Battlefield 2, because that's all I could afford. And now that I'm older and can afford to buy many games, I bought an Xbox Series X, and all I had to purchase was a gamepass. Teenager me would of nutted at having so many games to play on day 1.

As a 40 year old father of 2 kids, I choose Xbox SX over ps5 this time. Previously had a ps4 and then xboxone very late. My reasons; 1/ Gamepass (saved so much $$$). Currently have 116 games in Xbox but only 6 games on ps4. 3 of those on pc now. 2/ can cross play minecraft/roblox with kids on Xbox one/iPads/pc/iPhones etc. Hence much more players online in this ecosystem. 3/ more family friendly games. Minecraft/overcooked/roblox/moving out/heaps of co op and classic games 4/ can finally online play with my adult pc lan friends with hundreds of games now because of gamepass. Whereas before could only play together the few games we might both have. 5/ quick resume. I can literally press 2 buttons on controller and both xbox and tv turn on and I get into my assassin creed game within 10-15 secs. Perfect for quick 15 sessions between cooking dinner or break etc. Atm, see no reason to get ps5 until something like gamepass comes out. I canceled my ps4 plus account as my entire family online play is on Xbox/pc now. Ps4 was only for couple of single player games anyway. That’s my take.

I take my PC over either, though I have a 2tb XBox One S. My PC has not one, not two but 3 1tb SSDs plus a 4tb harddrive for non game stuff. Oh, there is a 500gb NVMe SSD just for the OS. I have power, storage and the ability to play games on keyboard and mouse or gamepad, download and edit photos, rip music from CDs, transfer music I rip to thumb drives, browse the internet, do my banking, play games not available on consoles, and so much more. Now that Microsoft, Sony and Steam have games for the PC, I'm satisfied. Who needs a console when you have the king of gaming machines. Best of all, I can exchange video cards, add more memory, watercool the cpu and plug all sorts of stuff into it for scanning documents, printing documents and pictures. The PC can also be hooked up to any TV and those super ultra wide monitors. The console look at me, green with envy.

@@bondgabebond4907 video cards are pricey now and you have to know how to put the things together, buy the right components. It's a good deal if you have ton of money and just buy the ready computer with top characteristics. But it's not a good deal if you start to choose a 500$ PC. Some processors won't be compatible with your motherboard, what happened with me. Sometimes( like in my case with intel core i5 6400, 16gb of ram and 1060 6 gb) games ran at 60+ fps but they just had microfreezers when you do a sudden mouse twist. It freezes for a half second and then goes back. GTA 5 was dropping from 114 to 40 fps which is much worse even than a stable 30 fps. Sometimes the game I bought on steam didn't want to run properly. Like Max Payne 3. It launched, gave me an error, people had the same error on forum and there was no solution for that. Also, now I have xbox and game pass. Many of the games that are avaliable for xbox game pass are not avaliable for gamepass on PC. Even if the subscriptions share the same name, gamepass on PC doesn't include ea play and doom eternal for example. You just can't compare these two machines, they could not replace each other. How many hours I spend on the internet trying to fix the fps issue, downloading some programs and doing some crazy stuff with my windows, even boosting the memory from the bios. And it didn't work. Yes you have the advantages of getting the right fps but you have to be prepared for all these issues. It happened to me, I had xbox all the way but all of my friends just adviced me a PC and now it doesn't turn on. They don't know how to fix it :)

@@alexanderpierre3030 The storage for xbox will also get better, since the deal MS has with Seagate is going to end, opening up the door for many different third party options. As for #2, aestheticlly it may be an opinion as to which console is "better," but functionality-wise it is not. The Series X is an engineering marvel, able to pack that much hardware into such a small footprint and push out that much heat.

Quick Resume is the most amazing feature I've ever seen. Im mostly a computer gamer WITH an SSD Hard drive, but being able to just jump back in where you left off in a game is such a huge game changer. I've been a nintendo fan all my life. I've owned every nintendo home console and the majority of the handheld ones and with how greedy nintendo has been recently and the fact I wanted to try out something new, I looked at what the next gen consoles had to offer. And I'm a teenager with no job so I can't afford to spend money on the big systems. So it was between the ps5 digital and the series s. I ended up going with the series s and I've had zero regrets! It's literally a budget gamers dream! Gamepass to get hundreds of games to play, full backwards compatibility with the xbox one and partial compatibility with the 360 and og xbox, and power as good, if not better than a pc 2x more then it? It's been amazing. I've tried out SO many games I never would've if it weren't for gamepass and I've gotten to play a huge catalog of games that never came to the switch or any nintendo console.

IkR? I used to love sony consoles but tbh I think ima transition to Xbox now. Yes I do have a pc and yes all Xbox games are on pc but... the fact that One of my best friends is on Xbox, that I can try so many games with game pass, backwards compatibility with previous xbox, have retroarch and essentially play smash Mario kart final fantasy all on the same console is fkn amazing. Besides here in Canada the ps5 is 45$ more expensive with taxes which is fkn insane since it’s uglier, bulkier, has less storage and is weaker. Games, ps plus ps now and controllers are all 90$ and with taxes that makes it 103$ for each item. That’s fkn anti consumer and frankly since sony games are releasing on pc now anyways. Either way for my values and priorities a series x is far better

I suspect that half the people that claim xbox is better because it can run emulators... are not running emulators on there xbox. Acting like it's something brand new when everything and the toaster oven is running emulators... hell even Tesla cars run emulators. Like i said in my comment. The specs of series x says enough if you compare it with PS5, i mean PS5 even uses overclocking for their TF. And xbox without their performance would already been removed from the marked same goes for PS woth their exclusive games

I prefer the playstation cause 1 most of my friends play on it. 2 i like the trophy system better on playstation and the content creator features are superior on ps5 i use them to make KZbin videos. You can record gameplay up to an hour I believe. You cant do that on xbox. And lastly the exclusives are better imo. But i have the xbox to play their exclusives

These are only a handful of the great games that GamePass offers.

Can I ask, even though Phil spencer said day and date exclusives and you have yet to release anything if note yet, can you say you are completely happy with the series x? Not looking for you to say you made the wrong choice but I’m interested as I would be disappointed with being sold on power and them not giving any Gaines that display it. Only a few ps5 games have shown what it’s capable of so I’m disappointed in that regard but I’m happy there has been a steady stream of games for the first year so far.

Xbox wins this gen. I've been a ps fan boy my whole life and always had a bias towards PS. But after trying xbox. I've converted. I love how quiet the xsx is compared to the ps5. Makes me laugh ps5 players saying xbox hasn't got any brand new exclusives right now. Well jokes on ps5 players, at least we can fit more than 5 games on our consoles

Ehhh. They are both quite. And it’s true, Xbox lacks great first party titles. But i think they’ll have more this time around. I got the PS5. But that’s because I have a PC and any game that’s exclusive to Xbox is on PC too. Storage is my biggest complaint. Both should of had stock 2 TB of storage. 1 Tb isn’t enough anymore. My PC has over 3 with the NVME.

Your list is right on. And the fact that Sony had to overclock their chip to get their current performance in the next couple years game makers will be able to use the extra horsepower in the Xbox demonstrate the gap between the two boxes.

Optimization over power multiple devs have said this is why ps5 has been pretty much out performing on most games. Also devs have said that the 2 tflops difference is minimal at best....

@@jammycjj you don't understand anything my friend, those devs who said its minimal at best well 44% more pixels with higher presents are not minimal those are huge gaps, why was there such a big gap because it wasn't 2TF difference no more it was 3 or slightly more due to the CPU taken more power for the heavy physics in the game, this is only the start, the games that the PS5 is put performance on is due to 2 factors, one devs still getting to play with split memory so memory management is still an issue which won't be after year or maximum too and will take advantage of the faster bandwidth, also the xbox series x has effectively 33GB of ram where as to the PS5 has only 13 thats 20GB more how and why ??? Simple, SFS, so not only does xsx has faster memory but has more space effectively to much more assets, the devs that told you or anyone that the 2TF will make hard any difference either 1 don't understand SFS or just haven't paid enough attention or 2 they have a biased opinion so sorry to burst your little bubble but you will see the difference which may even have higher delta than 44% more pixels in the future.
