I might consider buying this because when i was younger, i had a nintendo ds lite. It was a decent console and i had fun playing the vast library of games it had to offer. Now in heh, 2018, even this console is like 4,5 years old, it still looks sleek. Even though it doesnt fold, the console still looks sick. When i stopped playin on my ds lite, i went and collected some pokemon cards a few years ago, now heh heh i finally have enough money to buy this baby and wont share it with my younger brother. (Just kidding ;) i am looking forward to getting super smash bros and pokemon games. Thank you for your opinions man.

If you ask me, the reason why I prefer the New 3DS and New 3DS XL over the 2DS or 2DS XL is that it has the faster load times and amibo support, while also being a lot sturdier and less thin and wobbly then the 2DS XL model. I wish I could say if I prefer the smaller model over the larger one, but I’d never really decide since both have their own pros and cons.

I got myself a Pokéball edition 2DS XL. I actually like it. It's cheaper. And it folds. I grew up with gen 4 Pokémon games, so to have a folding 2DS brings back that nice feel, you know? I sorta miss the 3D, but I play for hours so it will hurt my eyes eventually. I guess a 2DS is better. Besides. I have Pokémon Sun, and the Rotom Dex fits perfectly.

Thanks for standing up for the 2DS man! I had been out of games for a while and had totally skipped over the DS generation. The 2DS helped me jump in on the cheap and I absolutely love it. Just like you said, it brings back memories of the Gameboy. People complain that it feels like a toy... but it IS a toy, and that's why i love it. I don't need my Nintendo system to feel like an Apple product (though I still love my Switch). I feel totally comfortable just leaving this thing laying around and throwing it (literally) in my bed or on the ground and don't have to worry about it. No one want's to admit it, but secretly this is the best 3DS model.

i personally love my 2DS!! when i got it at first i didnt really like the fact that it couldnt fold up like all other DS like i was worried my screens were gonna crack when i am travelling but i looked online and found super cheap screen protectors like 7 for $1 soo after that i have been chucking this thing everywhere i go and its still perfect! Nintendo knows quality!! plus i love opening up electronics and the 2DS makes it simple if you want to mod it or FIX any problems! i dropped my 2DS from like a 5foot drop directly on the left trigger button so it stopped working so i opened it up and fixed it with ease! nothing was broken just moved out of position!! FOR THE PRICE ITS STUPID NOT TO BUY IT LIKE I NEVER LIKED 3D AS A FUNCTION!! IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUY A DS BUY THIS ONE!! OR WAIT TILL JULY FOR THAT 2DS xl which is a different beast all together but totally different design!

Just got one from a game shop for $60 after my DSI XL took a crap. At first, it looked wired but now it's starting to grow on me. The hingeless design is def. more sturdy whereas it felt as if my DSI XL was going to fall apart if I opened it up too fast!

Among the 30-ish 3DS/DS games I own, I play MH4U the most. If you’ve ever played it , then you know that an average Hunting session can be upwards of 5 hours. The original 2DS is by far the most comfortable DS design for prolonged gaming sessions. The hand cramps that I used to get with the clamshell designs never show up when I’m using the 2DS.

Not really but its bad for ur eyes :p I never use 3d mode and my hands are too big for 3ds haha

show me a link that it's bad for your eyes please. All it is doing is redirecting light all screens have that light but for the 3d to work it just puts the light in different directions threw slits in the screen. it's not a special light it's the same as any LCD or IPS display so that would mean all screens are bad for your eyes in some way which is already true so using 3d has the same affect as a TV or computer monitor.

***** Everytime I use the 3d mode, my eyes get super tired and its hard to focus and after a while i start to peer like I do with VR gears. I dont have any links. I just base that theory on my own experience.

I can see how it would strain your eyes but do you think the strain is damaging the eyes? Or are you talking about more of a motion sickness? I only ask because they used to say reading in a poorly lit room was bad and it really wasn't. I get motion sickness if I read in the car and a I get a bad headache. I can't look at my phone in a moving vehicle. I'm wondering if that's the same as the 3d

I really love it! It plays all the ds and 3ds games, it closely feels like a gameboy and has small screens So you dont get your eyes that hurt! And There are many versions that comes with a Pre-installed Game! I have a super mario Bros 2 (the new Game) preinstalled and the 2ds is black and Blue

I'm picking one up on Black Friday. It looks like a really cool little game system. I can play some great Nintendo titles and not break the bank. I considered a Switch but I think this one will be great for Mario, Mario Cart, Pokemon, and Zelda.
