Windows 11 has one big problem that makes it worse than windows 10, which made windows 10 sorta good. The legacy of Windows 7. A lot of the features we had in windows 10 were based on or were created of things we had back in windows 7. Microsoft is doing the most they can though to make sure windows 7's influence is as long gone as possible, as we have lost a lot of features XP/7/10/(8 maybe) had. It is a new era, and not the greatest one at that.

Windows 7 is my favourite OS, but looking at how clean windows 11 is, I cant say I mind the changes. Windows 10 was repeatedly mangling legacy features such as the control panel, and also the whole issue of duplicate software. (snipping tool existing right next to snip & sketch for no reason is an example) I havent upgraded yet, but it would be nice if windows 11 had some kind of legacy support still built in for some applications (id probably die if they removed msconfig) Im gonna be doing my fair share of research before jumping from 10 to 11.

@@bololollek9245 Yeah after doing a bit of digging im sticking with 10 for now. I dont mind that they went for a excessively clean style, but the new context menu api and the inability to move the taskbar atm is kind of a deal breaker for me. Also on the topic of the control panel, the release build of win10 was great, but I cant stand how the old control panel now links up with the new settings. Its beyond jarring.

Just tried to "upgrade" to windows 11 today and loved how I could easily revert to windows 10. I have an MSI GS66 stealth and the upgrade overwhelmed my CPU, maxed out fan speed, and was just quite unnecessary with the oversimplicity on offer. The two most useful features of Windows 10 to me are taskbar customization and the integrated calendar and the two of them are just gone for no apparent reason. Will not be using Windows 11 any time soon.

Imo Windows 10 was and is a disaster as much as 11. 7 was the last good OS from Microsoft and was so practically from release. Starting with 10, Microsoft just decided to throw it's weight to monetize data based off your usage in a product they've already sold. An often broken OS with corporate spyware....how does anybody defend that?!

Windows 10 is fine and will be fine for many years to come -- even past EOL in October of 2025. Windows Server 2022 (logically released in 2021) is based on Windows 10, so users could switch to that if they must have security updates. And frankly, Windows 8.1 and 7 scrape past the line of usability for now, and security updates are available for both of these OSes, albeit only through piracy. My point is, other options are still more than suitable.

@Chris I agree.. I really like windows 11.. they removed much of the double up / convoluted options in Explorer ribbon.. It looks really attractive both light and dark modes, I M a multi tasker and love i3wm on Linux, so the new snap layouts are a God send... They are going to bring back drag. And drop to the task bar in. Future update I've heard... Windows 11 has less bloat and overheads than 10 and so I get 5 to 10fps more in AAA games on my gaming laptop... I've used windows since 3.0 in the 90s and Linux on and off since 1999... I think windows 11 is great and is now up there with macOS in looks. people don't like change.. suck to be them.. I'm loving windows 11 so far..

1:04 It's kinda weird why someone hasn't told this. But at least what happened to me when I ran Windows 11 on "unsupported hardware" in the dev channel in the insider program, when I tried to install a new build it wouldn't let me because of "unsupported hardware". Security updates was fine but I think why it was not letting because upgrading to new builds uses the same upgrade libraries as when you install the OS. Though the registry hack you do when booting from the install medium will solve the issue.

Since I decided to update to windows 11 I’ve ran into a couple of problems with gaming. First of all I had to go into my Bios & change from CSM to UEFI to be able to get windows to update. I also had to update from TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0. Since I’ve done that Destiny 2 & Halo MCC haven’t been working great, my frame rate has significantly dropped, I’m averaging between 10-40 FPS on Destiny 2 & I’m averaging about 15-30 FPS on Halo MCC since I’ve done this update. Other games work absolutely fine, I’m getting high FPS on the new Battlefield game & on Star Wars Battlefront 2. I’m running an AMD Ryzen 5 2600x with a GTX 1660 Ti. If anyone has any solutions to fixing my frame rate on Destiny 2 & Halo MCC that’d be great! I can’t think what else it could be, all of drivers are up to date & other games work fine, it’s just those two.

One of the things that I absolutely LOVE about Windows 11 though, is the upgrades to the Win+V clipboard menu. Symbols, emoji, text emoji, gifs, and clipboard... All standardised now and behind an easy to access menu, instead of thrown about everywhere and just hoping that a chat app implements it. The symbol search is great. While I kinda wish the start menu wasn't so much worse feature-wise, at least it looks really nice (I love the centered icons), and if I really want the Win10 start menu back it doesn't take much tinkering to do so.

Good video =) I have seen videos and articles mention these same points. I waited until both my laptop and desktop were able to receive the update and will update this weekend. I would caution users to be thoughtful about their unique situation and needs and not get too wrapped up in the hype. For example none of the items mentioned in this video bother me in any way. I LOVE the new interface (I tested for two weeks on a VM - in fact writing this comment in a WIN 11 VM). Just don't get caught up in hating on the OS because a power user will probably have different expectations than someone who just browses youtube and facebook. Heck, most of my co-workers didn't even know what the start button was or that you could pin/remove apps to customize it. They aren't going to notice something like the missing right-click menu.

We’re so used to it being in the bottom left corner) , it constantly forces you to use an online account, I’ve heard that performance is worse in some areas, the TPM requirement is absolute bullsh*t a Ryzen 1st generation and Intel 7th gen is *more than adequate* to run Windows 11 just fine with no performance issues and overall I just strongly dislike the OS in general. This feels like Vista part 2 and Windows 10 being the new Windows 7. Even though my Dell XPS 15 2019 is perfectly capable of running Windows 11 and meets all the requirements, I think Microsoft released it too early and need to keep improving and working on it
