Hey, I'm actually originally from Greely Ottawa 😅 but moved to Nica two years ago. I've been surfing for 9 months and am currently riding a 5'11" short board. I'm about intermediate level, can do bottom turns and top turns. I also only surf a very fast and punchy beach break which requires a fast take off and quick turns, and the ability to pump. Do you think the 30" Carver Emerald Peak board would be a good board for surf training? (btw I already bought it, it was $100 dollars off 😁)

Hey, for your riding conditions I think the short wheelbase here will be good in that it has that snappy tight turn radius that might feel like the quick shortboard turns you are used to. The only thing is that you might have to narrow your stance on this board from your surf stance as it is fairly short.

Hey man, what wheels would you recommend for surfskating parks and street? I want something good for sliding. Cheers.

At least 81A durometer, probably keep it under 59-65mm size so the you have easy realeases from coping when you start carve grinding in bowls. The older (non-ecothane) 81a roundhouses are good, heard good things about Orangutan fat free 86a, and I have some Bones Rough Riders (80a, 65mm) and Alva 83A 65mm wheels on hand right now just waiting for the skateparks to reopen.

Hey man, I like your surfskate videos...I see you have a Bureo Ahi :) I actually bought it for my 5 year old for his birthday that is still a bit far away...just quickly tested it at home and it is super heavy but I honestly think this stability will help him :p it would be nice if you would do a good review of it because the one's I found lacked more real test footage :p I just recently started surfskating after finding it by accident and I had not skated in some 20 years...so I bought myself a smoothstar and love it, something tells me my surfskate journey is only beginning NOTE: I have never surfed or even have any interest of trying it...but I always loved carving on a skateboard :p

Thanks! The Bureo Ahi was my first ever surfskate, so it does hold a sentimental value, but I also have more nits to pick with it than others because I know it best. I will do a review video soon. For my 8 year old daughter, It is the favored option of the 5 surfskates we have at the moment, so it could be a really good choice for your son! Stay tuned and thanks for watching!

Hey I know this took a while but my Bureo Ahi review is uploading right now and should be available later tonight (4k takes a little time). Thanks for the suggestion!

Are z-flex or long island brands good? I want to buy it ,but now these two brands are easy to find Thanks for your video bro.
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried either, but I did look into the Z-flex ones before. The Z-flex ones use the waterborne surf adaptor like you see on my longboard in this video so they would be great for pumping and flat ground riding, I just don’t love the waterborne adaptors in the skatepark because they add a lot of weight and bulk.
