The people and the exceptional views / experiences... It's not exactly for the city born and bread, but if you have any appreciation at all for nature and what more lives should be like... What isn't to LOVE? Here in Texas, where barb wire shapes the landscape (4 sections still in the immediate family)... I wish we had some BLM land.. And, I don't mean in Portland or Seattle, though that would be fun if I could get a permit for hunting there...

PROS: No traffic or parking issues and most towns can be fully traversed from one side to the next in 10 - 15 minutes. No BLM/Antifa/LBGT... activism because we're all mostly cool to each other. No need for ID because people know you. I can't throw a football far enough to reach any of my neighbors' houses. MY KIDS ARE SAFE TO PLAY OUTSIDE (as safe as it get's these days). Amazing mountains to explore and incredible fishing and wildlife. Some of the top schools in the nation believe it or not. Check out Sheridan, WY schools, specially elementary. The schools are well funded and the teachers are great (and normal) here. CONS: Real estate has blown up and houses are crazy expensive. You get to enjoy days where it's 20 below zero and it snows two feet for consecutive days and you're getting stuck and digging your cars out. The rest of the world thinks you're a cowboy and live on a ranch with 12 other people in your town. (This does exist in parts of WYO though!) That's all I can think of.

What part of Wyoming are you in where you don’t live on top of your neighbors? We’re in Rock Springs and it’s mainly just suburbs with houses super close to each other. We would prefer more rural with neighbors not as close.

We lived in Rawlins from '78 on. It was a hundred miles to a Walmart no matter which direction we went. It was 99 miles to Laramie (the Walmart is on the other side of town so + 3 miles) which made it the closest. 108 miles to Rock Springs and 126 miles to Lander. Casper was 120 miles away and Craig, Colorado was 118 miles away from us. Alas, Rawlins grew too big and got a Walmart though it did not happen till the 20th century was over and gone.

You asked for ideas for your videos. PLEASE make several videos for Veterans in Wyoming to step up and demand that State Politicians pass into State Law: Total Property Tax Exemption for Service Disabled Veterans who are 100% and hold Permanent & Total Status. Please demand that politicians don’t include household income designed to disqualify these veterans from receiving such benefit. Respectfully, I personally believe that every State in the United States should have this benefit for SDV’s and yet this is not the case. I do not think that this request is out of line and I am asking for the Veterans of Wyoming to fight for me and other Veterans who are in this lifetime situation. Thank you and please consider leading this fight in Wyoming.

Since you love low populations and lots of space, WHY are you trying to get people to crowd in here? You won't find mega movieplexes, large shopping malls, rock concerts, multiple choices for eating out, no club scene, theater, concerts, ballet, no big medical centers and choices in medical care. In fact, if you need special or specific health care it will be a hundred or more mile drive one way. Fridays are big at the Walmart and it is crowded with people coming from a hundred miles or more around to do the weekly or monthly shopping. And then there is the wind. The windy season is supposed to start in December and it does if you mean hurricane level blasts that blow over semis and large RVs, but it also blows all the time, year around. You don't put up shade cloth or patio umbrellas unless you want to spend the afternoon hanging on to them or chasing them to the next town. You don't leave lightweight lawn chairs and furniture outside for the same reason. A lot of people leave because of the constant wind. Most people are not cut out for Wyoming and the population is low for a reason. Don't think your Yellowstone vacation gave you an idea of what living here is like. Research our 8- 10 month Wyoming winters before spending time and money on relocating. We have the highest suicide rate in the 50 states- including Alaska. It gets lonely here and there is the constant wind. Even some Wyomingites are not cut out for Wyoming.
@wyomingrealestate

IF it's so horrible, then why are you here?
@kateowens45
@kateowens45 Жыл бұрын
It is NOT horrible. It is a great place to live if you can do without the amenities mentioned. Part of what is great about Wyoming is the low population which is mentioned as a feature of the state and its rural, wide open spaces. Seems counter productive to be calling for people to be crowding in and ruining the breathing room. People who are accustomed to big city ammenities should be aware they are not available here.@@wyomingrealestate
@wyomingrealestate

@@kateowens45 I'm definitely not on a mission to overcrowd Wyoming. People considering moving here ought to have some truth on what it's like here and nothing I said in my video or any of my videos, is a lie designed to attract people. Nor have I tried to hide the negatives. See my video where I'm outside in nearly 60 below zer0. If all they see are seeing are tourist related KZbin videos and Longmire and Yellowstone on TV, they're not really getting the bigger picture. In other videos I have mentioned the lack of shopping and healthcare resources within the state.

Respectfully saying. Wyoming politicians refuse to grant by State Law awarding Service Disabled Military Veterans who are rated 100% DISABLED by the Veterans Administration, 100% Property Tax Exemption. Wyoming is excepting Illegal Invaders and Refugees who don’t deserve to be in the United States. The good citizens of Old Wyoming are being overrun and overthrown by people who do not have values. Instead, they are all about the quick and inflated buck on a piece of property that is not valued properly. I hope the Citizens living in the Western States are paying attention because Gavin Newsome, the Governor of California just visited CHINA and he is eyeing to become the PRESIDENT of California. Yes, the WEF has plans of carving up the United States and Northwest Wyoming is to become a part what is to be called Cascadia. I am a SDV who is rated 100% and I am paying attention to what is happening. Regular people are focused on your job’s and other things but I am not. I have said for a long time now that,”A Nation that turns its backs on their SDV’s and Veterans will one day cease to exist “. The Western States will be pushed into FEMA Camps, pay attention to Lahaina Hawaii and what is happening right now in Alaska with the typhoon that just hit. I advise the State of Wyoming to do a better job of who they are welcoming into their state. The rich and wealthy use Wyoming as a tax haven and right now Wyoming has very little good paying jobs. GOOD LUCK WYOMING.

There are hardly any Bureau if Land Management (BLM) lands in the eastern US. BLM is really a western US thing. I was talking on the phone to a coworker from Georgia about camping and target shooting on BLM land. He asked if Black Lives Matter owned land out here. I had to explain US Dept of the Interior and Bureau of Land Management. I’m sure there are a lot of Easterners who just don’t know and have a similar reaction.
