You should include for CMON kickstarters that if you back, pledge only $1. That way you can wait for any shipping foolishness they have in store in the pledge manager to make your final decision

I really appreciate this discussion. I was so hyped for this campaign as I have Season 1 but have only played it twice so far. So much more to play in it and season 2 is supposed to be great too. I can resist backing.

However, the ironic twist is that I have managed to stay out of kickstarter campaigns for awhile and thus wasn't aware of this campaign - and now I am tempted to pull the trigger. But this video saved me again because now I can talk myself out of it with the argument that - who knows - I might get a free one, so why pledge? Better to wait. Yes, better to wait...

I was hoping CMON was going to put out a stand alone “season three” only because I couldn’t find season one in stock anywhere and didn’t want to pay the crazy secondhand market prices I was seeing. But season one is now restocked all over the place and my copy is actually being delivered today so now I’m leaning towards taking a pass on this one. Especially since the shipping is going to be crazy.

Coincidentally, I played CDMD for the first time yesterday. The thing I liked most about it is that the minis didn't feel like they were just compensating for a lack of fun mechanics. They are a good size and feel like they add something to the immersion. I often find like minis so I was pleasantly surprised.

These videos are super helpful for me to knockdown that FOMO, I only got into boardgames about 3 years ago, and went ham on the KS backing, (still have about 15 to arrive) but use to justify it as I could play them as they came in, but lockdown had me getting multiple games at once now and the backlog is real, love you work keep it up

Great timing on this video! I just played Death May Die the first one on Saturday and see that is when you released this video. I really enjoyed my experience.... I actually enjoyed a co-op game which was a surprise for me. I have Played both Nemesis and Mansions of Madness sequels and never wanted to play them again. Everyone else thinks I'm crazy for not liking them :)

I'm practically a "veteran" of cdmd, I have had core box, s2, yog and black goat for almost two years, I liked it A LOT and I was super excited about a possible s3. I was pretty surprised when they announced it (for the Eric Lang's absence). I was about to back it when I read a comment that was like "couldn't wait for season 4" and BAM I snapped back to reality asking myself if all of this wait and hype was just part of the plan for you to back this (or if they are planning to announce more "game content" than the necessary to really enjoy it). P.S.: btw I love you because your favorite game is Rising Sun just like mine.

Great list - I'm in the same boat as you (not owning any CDMD). Your point on whether you're equally excited to purchase existing retail content vs KS makes so much sense. Actually kind of twisted my arm to pull the trigger on the KS as I've had the original CDMD in my Amazon cart for like 8 months just waiting for stock at a reasonable price (Can't justify $200+ CAD for a core box). I have been eagerly awaiting a restock so prices drop closer to $100-$120 and will be very excited to pull that trigger. Also enjoyed your observation that for the same $120 you could get a 65+ hour critically acclaimed campaign game instead of the Unspeakable box, which absolutely contains a bunch of content but is it really needed when the new stretch goal box will contain enough variety and more than most folks would reasonably get to the table. Cheers, buddy - Hope you continue to grow, keep doing what you're doing. Bonus - Just a quick idea/suggestion for your deathmatch series. The Definitive list of the most Overhyped/overrated board games! The irony of giving more hype while simultaneously saying they receive too much hype could make for some funny content.

First time watching any of your videos. I"m a fan. I felt you were very objective and, if I'm honest, sound just like my wife when I'm making a pledge on some game, regardless of the game. Your points were very valid and have changed how I look at the whole "all-in" thing. I have fallen victim to countless "all-in" and extras during pledging that I have regretted, not because they did not add enough or scratch an itch, but its the shelf space they take up. CMON is really good about taking up shelf space!
