These tips are just what I needed thank you. My Cavapoo puppy is very small so doesn't eat a lot so I will remember to use her meals for training and not leave the food bowl down.

My dog is not treat motivated at all, so this came at just the right time!

Thank you. This may be the missing piece with my Boykin puppy, that has been less than interested with the treats I have been using. I had been cutting down with the food...even though she is far from over weight. However from here on she is only getting the food from my hand. Still finding that Highest level 10.

What if the puppy is 2 pounds and needs to eat every few hours. What would you do at night? It was recommended to keep puppy in small playpen area with food available at all times until bigger. Thanks!

Good to know! I thought my dog wasn’t food motivated, but I’ll try your suggestions. He definitely likes the movement thing…he likes to ‘hunt’ for his food. The 2-3min session is good too! The tough part is he gets fed raw or gently cooked and it’s hard to carry it around. I’ll be re-starting in the bathroom! Thanks!

Yes, it is hard to carry around raw and gently cooked food. It aso attracts the attention of every dog in the area, sometimes unwanted attention.

My dog is just not into food. He’s been underweight or barely normal weight. I did find hot dogs for high value and I cut it into 100 pieces. That way he doesn’t fill up on hotdogs. I have tried just feeding for set times but he never eats much and he drops weight quickly. So the vet told me I needed to leave food out longer

ohh i could est mint chip ice cream every day. i have never had this problem my problem is that my dog is too food motivated as its getting to the point were she expects a treat for doing what ever i ask and gets frustrated with me if i don't have a treat on hand to give her. She is a smart dog and has learned how to game the system to get more treats

Are you using treats or the pups kibble? My 13 week old Goldendoodle was getting hooked on treats at 11 weeks. I backed away from highly valued treats to kibble only. She now will train and follow through with commands for her kibble. Treats are given at random and only once a day.

@@theirmom4723 oh it doesn't matter kibble or treats she will eat it all i mean my dog will eat a whole carrot if its presented to her. lol not sure if there is any thing she wouldn't eat as far as treats go i have tried everything from turkey and berry flavored treats to three dog bakery cookies and everything in between i think i might have spoiled her. she is a very petite american cocker spaniel she's about 9 in tall instead of the 13-15 in the breed standard says she should be. i just worry about her getting over weight because she is so small.

A dog that eats round the clock also eliminates his load on the floor around the clock and causes an awful stink.

There is no situation, moment, environment where my doodle won't take food... and she is skinny... and there is no moment in the history of mankind where she will refuse to chase a ball 😅... she has perpetual hunger and energy 😂
