Cats are a little more friendly than you're making them out to be lol. Most distinct thing about a cat that loves you is that it will follow you around constantly. No idea why she likes me so much because she hated me when we first got her and would act like she wanted to be pet then when I bent down to pet her, she'd jump up and bite my nose so hard she would be hanging off it. The other is still since the day we got her like he said, plotting my murder😂
@luwildy2 жыл бұрын
@@juanjoyaborja.3054 No you misunderstood I was saying they ARE friendly and they always want to be with me. If you're cat is acting like that you need to change something about his environment. Lol no way I'm lucky to find one cat that would not bite me just bc I pet them for too long. Don't get me started on rubbing the belly xD cats are death traps. They are cute but not a love and adore you type of animal
@kiradeki35612 жыл бұрын
@@-cMc- They can be though. I've had many cats over the years, and generally, if you don't go after them to pet them, and you let them come to you (sometimes you need to bribe with food in the early stages to get them to warm up to you) then eventually they reach a point where they're comfortable with coming up to you and either passively loving on you, or...like my current cat, grabbing you with their paws and refusing to let go until you give them your undivided attention. Cats are needy and loving...they just need to do it on THEIR terms. Someone once said "you own a dog, but you are owned by a cat" and that's pretty true to how they both handle affection. Dogs will plead for attention, cats will demand it.
@cassihansen48252 жыл бұрын
I forgot that most people see cats as sneakily plotting your demise because every cat I've had has been very affectionate and loved to snuggle. That's something I love about cats, they all have such individual personalities. They defiantly judge you though lol

Yes. Cats are for honest people.
@Dandylion5672 жыл бұрын
It depends with them. One of my two cats is really sweet and wants to be babied one second, but then, she goes into play mode the next second, so you have to watch her body language, lest you get bitten, which is kind of like snakes with their food modes. She also kind of bullies the other cat, so I have on more than one occasion told her that she's a very cute baby that also just so happens to be evil. I think that sums up a lot of cats. My other cat is super affectionate and chill, though. So, yes, they all have very distinct personalities.

A standoffish cat is the comparison I draw for my kingsnake. He doesn’t really care about me but will put up with me and even sometimes approach me, and will always come around for food. He snuck away from me once and I found him when he started knocking things off my desk. And, like a cat, he will occasionally express himself with sharpness. (That said, he’s only pointy on one end, unlike cats, which are pointy on five ends.)

My family all has Devon Rexes that don’t trigger their allergies (unfortunately they still make my husband itchy). My younger sister’s old boy loved everyone but adored her. He would decide that he wanted him mommy and sit and stare out the window for hours and no one could interest him in treats or cuddles. When he heard her car, he would immediately come to life, race to greet her, and purr his little heart out when she picked him up. He was sweet to everyone and a wonderful mother to his little sister, but his world revolved around his mommy.

She will rub on his tank, he walks around the tank following her left to right as she walks back and forth. He will sit on his feeding ledge in a position like he'd jump on her if the door wasn't in the way. Her oils get all over the outside of his tank from her rubbing, and he will just stare at her all the time. Climb on his doors to get a closer look. He has no fear at all in the cat. Sometimes she will tap his tank with her paw and they kind of play together. He's a Halloween, she's a Calico, I joke they have a weird love affair going on. I'm surprised you didn't mention bearded dragons being like cats, because: - Both will sun bathe and sit on you because you're warm - Both will bird watch (although I think for different reasons) - Both will judge you or ignore you. The only in-betweens are selective affection and food. - Both will try to look bigger if they get freaked out by puffing up (dragons with beards, cats with fur), plus show their teeth. I have seen both animals do this at things they simply didn't like the look of. - Both will hunt down crickets and chase balls (or ball-shaped things) - Both are *very* food motivated and will like you more if you give them food/treats - Both will accidentally get their claws snagged on your clothes - Both can actually hate or like baths depending on the individual (one of our ex-outdoor cats tolerated water well, the bearded dragon only tolerated baths. They were very similar in that way) - Both are somewhat curious yet cautious - Both will smell and lick you. Maybe try to eat your hair, finger or ear too, that depends on the individual. - Both are not very noisy unless they want your attention (meowing, glass surfing) or they are trying to play with something - Both have very subtle but easy to learn body language outside of the puffing up thing - Both have at least one "naked" gene; you can buy a hairless cat or a scale-less bearded dragon (although silkbacks are produced from a co-dominant gene and are highly ethically questionable for many people; hairless cats were discovered twice, the sphynx is a recessive mutation and the donskoy is a dominant mutation, and both breeds have specific genetic concerns) We had cats and a bearded dragon at the same time, most of the differences came down to the bearded dragon needing to be in a warm box overnight and eating veggies all the time, while the cats only go in a box to poop and the only veggies they eat are catnip and grass.

Cats tend to be shy, but those that aren't can be as affectionate as dogs. My sister's cat was so lovey she could never get enough attention, and came when called. But I was the one who handled her most during her first year, so she got really cuddly. Oh, cat bites suck. I like cats because they feel nicer to pet just imo, and they're not drooly and in-your-face the way dogs are again in my experience. Other mammals a little more like cats with the behavior are rabbits and chinchillas. Chins are especially independent and tend to be shy.

bearded dragons are definitely cat like. mine likes to do zoomies, use the toughest ways back to his branch, is impressively flexible, silently gives you the all mighty side eye, that is until you have food for him, THEN he'll take interest in you 💀💀 but my zuko is very chill like a cat too! and is willing to be held! my cat weirdly enough likes shoulders to sit on??? just like my dragon LMAO

The White's Tree Frog is so true. I had one as a kid that would watch me everywhere I went and would cock its head at me like "Really?" whenever I played my Super Nintendo.

Beardies for sure are like cats they only care about food and sleep (depending on personality of the dragon), interesting video though

I would argue the majority of reptiles are like cats because they highly (or not so highly) tolerate us. Very few seem to actually "like" us or desire to hang with us which is why we can easily have 50,000 and none of them become upset if they're fed and kept properly. It's why monitor lizards and Tegus stand out so much.... and even then everything is on their terms.
