My wife was treated (mainly with levothyroxine) for hypothyroidism for more than 50 years. She rarely consumed any of the listed foods, except soy, and was extremely healthy into her mid-70s. A few years ago she developed kyphosis, which none of her doctors diagnosed. MRI images of her spine less than a year ago, showed many fractured, decomposed vertebrae. I could not understand how her spine had deteriorated so quickly. Then last month I saw the report by the Ghotbi team of Johns Hopkins about bone density loss associated with levothyroxine, and now believe the medication was a major contributing cause. Caution advised!

@@marya.3218 Proceed with great caution! Proper function of the thyroid affects many body functions. The real challenge today is to find a medical professional who can help. The good doctors who helped my wife many years ago have all retired/died. We were never able to find a competent replacement willing to help. Once we're into our late 70s we are no longer viewed as "repeat customers" for long. Do all the research you can for your own good. Best wishes!

Good information for those Not allergic or intolerant of sulfur. However, if you are, for the love of all that is sacred, please avoid olive oil. (I literally just figured this out 2 days ago, and have switched to butter and almond oil). The good doctor is correct about everything else he has spoken of.
@joanjohnson96168 ай бұрын
Almonds, dairy, soy, caffeine, all veg and seed oils are bad for thyroid and many other things. Avocado oil and coconut oil are good. Make sure there is a 4 hour window from the time you take your meds until you eat. Watch Dr. Eric Berg, Dr. Ken Berry, and others on KZbin. Codfish liver oil is very good and so is real olive oil. Try Inositol, maca powder, and make sure you get enough vitamin D3 in combination with K2. Thyroid patients need higher doses. Make sure you take iodine supplements too. Most Drs. endocrinoligists included are clueless. They don't do complete testing panels either which are so important. If you can try a functional medecine Dr. who specializes in thyroid.

Hopefully he will answer you. The problem with decaf is it’s full of chemicals. The Swiss Water decaf process is much better since it uses plain water to decaffeinate the coffee beans compared to regular decaf coffee that uses a lot of chemicals. Just look for the kind that says Swiss water decaf on the package.
