The scenes themselves aren't the problem. The characters not facing any negative consequences for their wrong actions, and instead glorifying it is the real problem. For example, Arjun Reddy isn't the problem, he getting the very same girl whom he abused, treated very badly & glorifying his toxic behavior with the "vadavauvauvadavauvau" BGM is the problem.

@@udaykiranreddy9776 there is nothing wrong with having a toxic or flawed protagonist, but atleast he should go through some character ark , where he understands his toxicity, or faces failure due to it, Its ok of Arjun reddy is shown as toxic, but he shouldn't b rewarded for it, n its such a unreasonable thing to saya that if u don't like thay movie dont watch it, First of how would one know if they like a movie or not without watching, Second after watching if they found something problematic it should be discussed there is no problem with discussing the issue in civilized manner.

Rashmika's scene in 'Pushpa' where she literally cries as Pushpa shouts at her to recognise his crush on her and submit to him . He bullies her into dating him. It’s legit treated as a comedic scene for gags and it’s sooo annoying that no one is talking about how sexist it is. Also there’s the fact this is a massive big budget MCU movie.

It may be stereotypical, but jt immediately creates a sense of what sort of town it is, which becomes very important in the context of the film, in that it is the very nature of being a small town that allows the story to progress as it does. Just because the lead characters say something doesn't make it the message of the film. There is such a thing as subtext.

I'm happy that South Indian movies are getting its due recognition for constantly doling out good content, however we need to reconsider how the female roles are written. It is quite shocking to see how the same 90's formula is used in many South Indian commercial movies (which btw has the biggest audience). The hero stalks the girl, who is visibly uncomfortable, but the hero is obviously not gonna stop and will go to great lengths to continue his stalking, and may also get abusive and somehow the girl now starts liking him.

To counter such cringy and mind-numbing scenes I propose you should also show some of the better representation of romance in Bollywood. Fox example, The market scene of Madhumati (where Dilip kumar's hand gets injured) won my heart. I was expecting some quip or some romantic line from Hero (to woo the heroine) but to my surprise nothing of that sort happened. And the romance felt so much organic and also one can see the mutual respect in that relationship .

And that got me thinking that while it might take much research, there are many of us who wants to discuss and share this. How the Bollywood or Pan India films shaped that particular year and its aftermath. Like 2015's baahubali success paved way for the re-entry of films made in a time of Kings, drastic increase in south movies craze; 2016 saw movies like Dangal, Sultan, Kapoor * sons, going back into the family drama and emotional content.

My two cents. RRR is mostly devoid of these troupes but one thing that bothered me while watching it was the Jenny romance. Maybe I noticed it more because I have seen it in so many movies but "Why would she sit on your motorcycle if she didn't like you?" line and that entire bursting the tire didn't go right with me. Maybe they could used it to potray Ram as 'end justifies the means' type and Bheem would set him straight on why he is wrong in thinking like that. It would have made Bheem more sympathetic to women's cause while at the same time signifying how he is changing Ram's mindset slowly rather than it hinging entirely on the whipping scene. This is nowhere near 'matlab kuch bhi' as other movies but a small gripe I had.
