I think that more than half of society doesn’t even know why they do the things they do, or find entertainment in the things that they invest their time in. I think so many people just jump on the bandwagon because everyone else is doing it. This was a great video. As always. 😊

I noticed that a lot when I had Facebook. I’d see people nonstop going and going to events, parties, vacations, concerts, etc. I’m a simple person and it doesn’t take a lot to satisfy me. I’m so content just sipping my coffee and reading a book. Yesterday I just sat for a long time with my cat daydreaming and watching the snow fall. I think the fast living that I saw on Facebook seems absolutely exhausting and I don’t really understand why it is the norm. My family takes a vacation about once every 2-3 years and we have had some memorable trips that I loved but I’d never want to jam pack my schedule with a bunch of events back to back. I hope for everyone’s sake that slow living makes a comeback because I believe it is so much more healthy and peaceful.

When you said, "fight for your mind," it really hit me. I struggle often with anxiety and have been working to dwell on the good, find gratitude, and remember truth instead of working over "but what if." I love that phrasing because it is a fight--a fight against my own need for control, against the enemies attacks, and for a mind filled with love, kindness, hope, and beauty. ❤

So beautiful...when you announced, "Daddy's home!", in that moment, I felt not alone. I have been grieving my own barrenness; at 54, I am well into menopause and although my mind, long ago, accepted that children would not be in my lot, there are times my heart still grieves. I know you understand and even though we will likely never meet, we are still connected. The love you shower on your dogs and chickens mirror mine and I looked down at our anxious Daisy, herself a shelter rescue, and said a prayer of thanks that we can give her the best life she could ever dream of. And I am now inspired to roast some carrots and sweet potatoes to go with our supper tonight.

It's funny, at 44 I have accepted I will never have a family with children, but I'm still hoping for husband to at least be a part of my family. Right now, I'm a dog mama so we are a family, and I feel extraordinarily blessed by God. He knew we needed each other, and we've enriched each other's lives. Watching Lea with her husband inspires me and gives me hope that someone like that exists for me. :)

Thank you for sharing. This is the first time I've seen her videos, and I kept wondering why she doesn't have kids. She seems so sweet and motherly. I was being a judgemental jerk when I saw her treating her dogs as kids. This is such a good reminder that we don't know what people are struggling with. I went through a failed adoption, 3 miscarriages, and 7 years of infertility beforevhaving my children, so I should know better. God bless you both. 🙏

“I’ve always been a little bit different…” Me too, Lea! Me too!!!!! We are indeed a “peculiar people” in this world!!!! I homeschooled our two daughters who are now grown while my sister sent hers to school and continually poked fun at homeschoolers. She was horrified when I said that I did not want my daughters to go to college because they are simply organizations of indoctrination while hers went for their degrees. Neither we nor our daughter regrets our decision. We are peculiar and I like it that way! Praise Yah for our peculiarities!!!!

I just wish that all pets had such a loving home! They are truly amazing creatures! Just taking the time to appreciate them and nurture them brings so much joy. The simple life is for me. We've had bad storms, and I enjoyed going out to clean up the branches and burn them in my fire pit. I had a cup of coffee, watched the fire and the beautiful evening sky as the golden hour descended into blue. The pink and gray in the winter sky was breathtaking, and I thought, what could be any better than this. The awe-inspiring beauty of creation, a cup of good coffee, my sweet kitties nestled inside the warm house waiting for me and the crackling of the fire! To me, this is the good life. The hustle life is dead and gone for me! Thank you for your wonderful videos!❤

Hello from -1 in the north Georgia mountains. I missed the beginning so I'll have to rewatch the whole thing after errands.❤❤ So I have watched to the end and think that even though I believe we are born in the specific time that God sets us in, my heart is longing for the days that were slower and meant more. I realize in the Laura Ingalls Wilder days that things were considered hard but those times families valued each other so much more than they do now and things meant so much more than than they do now. I personally would love to live more intentional than I find myself doing now. You have opened up a part of me that has been put away for years because of one reason or another. I think it's high time even at this late date to revisit that longing. Thank you Lea for another warm video. ❤

Yay - I can't wait to watch this later! :) I've been looking into motivation and self-discipline for myself during the last few weeks. After taking on many bad habits (many are related to phone / social media use) in recent years, I think it's so wonderful that God designed us so that we can rewire our brains on a physical level. It's a perfect example of his grace and his wonderful design. I found this quote encouraging: "When we use spiritual growth to change our brain through self-directed neuroplasticity, as guided by the Holy Spirit, we are making our own brains more conducive to us being transparent before God, which, through grace, will make us more receptive to God’s plan for us.”

Dear Lea. I so needed this beautiful reminder today. I’m forever trying to practice gratitude and mindfulness but yet life always seems to get in a way. As I’m dealing with lots of uncertainty now I’m trying to put my trust in God. But I have a hard time believing that God can forgive ALL sins. Even if you repent and ask for forgiveness. So I try but feel unworthy of forgiveness as I can’t forgive myself. I’m not as versed in Bible as your beautiful community which you had gathered here. But I’m trying to cling to the story of the prodigal son. Perhaps there is a space for prodigal daughter too…

As usual, I enjoyed this video this morning again. It’s very encouraging one thing you did comment on was. Minimalism. Often I have sat around my home and thought I don’t want to be a minimalist. Why you say the same thing I say the things I have around my home are things that I have made over all my years of life, since I was just a little girl. I love studying the Bible, worshiping, my God, applying the things I know to be right from the Bible in my own personal life, sewing. I love looking around my house and seeing the things that I have made in the last 50 years of my life. The memories are there with the time that I spent making them. Some people would look at my home and say it’s clutter. But it’s not it’s part of my life. I have learned over the years because I’ve been in a lot of homes, and I would see things that people had collected, or just had it in their home and to me it looked like clutter. But I don’t think that way anymore. Because it’s not cluttered to them. Because it was theirs it was their life history laying around in their home. Sometimes it is clutter. But I’m not talking about that I’m talking about nice homes not expensive just simple homes with things around it that make it a home. I choose not to get rid of my things because I enjoy getting up every day and looking at it. I have a granddaughter she plays on the video games all the time. I have a hard time understanding that. But it is the generation. But you are absolutely right and what you say. The little house on the prairie they knew more even though they did not have a computer in their homes or other technical things to distract them but they had more than our kids today. I never had that as a young girl. I still don’t know how to do. It barely know how to pull this video up on my phone to watch it. But that’s OK. Because I apply the things that you were saying about making life little things count in my life. Like every morning getting up and hearing the birds sing praises to my God. So I really enjoy your little videos that you make. They’re heartfelt but more importantly, the things that you’re saying are true. Thank you for putting the time in out of your day to share with the rest of the people who choose to listen.

We're i live today the lake is completely frozen over except for one little spot, sometimes the position is different but the little spot where the water is not frozen is always there, and all the ducks would move to that little area that is not frozen over. And I see this each winter year. No matter how frozen the whole place, there is always a small portion on that water where the ducks would be able to stay and people will come and feed them. It makes me smile and wonder at GOD each time. He is awesome. HE cares for all HIS creatures and provides for them and dose not forget any. It warms my heart and makes me smile each winter morning when I see this. GOD is amazing.

Here in Phoenix Arizona, our house is butted up against mountain's of a different kind where it doesn't snow, but they are beautiful still. We have only 3 seasons all of which last about 4 months each; Spring, Summer and Fall. It does get cold in Phoenix, but not enough to call it winter; however, there's lots of snow only 1 1/2 hours away so we don't completely miss it. During the summer, my husband and I travel to other parts of the country that are not so hot. It's the best of all worlds and we love it. What I love most is that no matter the season or where we are traveling, we are still able to serve the community, our neighbors and family. Take care and thank you for sharing your slow, balanced and intentional life. 😀

Last February my husband and I flew from cold wintery Idaho to Phoenix to watch spring training and get some much needed vitamin d. Unfortunately it was so darn cold while we were there that we we froze 😂😂😂. We never did wear our t shirts and shorts that we packed. Everyone said it was an unusually cold winter for Arizona. We had to get back to Idaho to warm up.

This is about the fourth or fifth time. I’ve watched this particular video. I do enjoy listening to some of your videos many times. It’s like having somebody reinforce what it is that my goals are in my life. Looking around the world today I can see my goals are not in the too distant future. I enjoy doing the things I do with my life that I am able to do at this time. But it just kind of grounds me you might say on my goals and how to reinforce what I already know to be true. I am alone every day. I don’t have anybody around me ever. So I find it necessary to be very selective as to what and who I listen to. Most things are very negative as everybody knows. But if you listen to negative stuff all the time you will become negative. You are what you run with. And I don’t wanna run with negative people. So I listen to things that inspire me to move forward in my goals in a positive way. Again, as I’ve said in the past, thank you for taking your time to make these informative reminders video.

lol I literally read the title in the video pic as "being a peasant" i was like OMG that makes sense for this kind of a video. Only to see it says "being present" I'd much prefer the blissful state of absence if this is what being present looks like. Thanks girl.

I have a rescue as well, she is a four pound teacup morkie, she gets so excited when I give her fresh water and when I put a sweater on her (her annoying yaps are quite joyful). I recently got a 900 emergency to my car, causing me to cancel my travel plans. I was upset and met Ukrainian refugees at the museum I was working at, and the family was so happy running around looking at our taxidermy with curiosity, asking questions, giggling at photos of raccoons being goofy. It put my thoughts and gratitude back in place.

I know it's personal and only if you feel comfortable, I was wondering if you and your husband grew in Christianity together and changed together or how your journey had worked together. No obligation, I just thought it would be edifying to learn how you grew separately and/or together to who and where you are today. Thank you for your wisdom and reminders to enjoy God's creation and give our mind into subjection to Him. God's been making this more serious to me lately and I want to continue to grow.

The snow is so beautiful! And thank God for Godly husbands who wipe the stairs clean of snow :) I hate that these days every billboard/commercial is moving. If I walk in the city center, there's huge electronic commercial boards that keep showing adds. It gets overwhelming. It's like even the eyes know when it's too much to process. The world is moving so fast. But for what?

I think these details are noticed by thinking deeply, maybe some of this has been lost in today's world. I think years ago, people had less and noticed and appreciated more. You should read Charlotte Bronte's novels, her writing was beautiful and poetic and a pleasure to read. Considering the Bronte sisters lived a very simple life in their parsonage, they must have had incredible imaginations to have written those beautiful books and at such a young age too. 🌾🌻

I’ve watched this video that you’ve made and a couple of others many times. Why? Repetition is the mother of retention. This is a new mindset, a slower way of life. And learning how to identify things that can rob you of your peace of mind, Take away your focus as to what your intention is and trying to live a more slow life. And the more I hear it the more I see how to apply it correctly in my own circumstances. I share them with different people who have told me that they want to live more intentional life. They get so wrapped up and caught up in every day life. Personally, I don’t wanna live like that. So I appreciate your comments on intentional slow living. I feel sorry for people who constantly feel that they have to be going and doing and everything for activity to stay youthful to stay a functionable lifestyle. Then one day they get older and some people are fine with their memories of what they did. But others look back at it and they think what a waste because they have no time that they can sit and just reflect on how life really should be for them. Being on the race in life is not God‘s intention for people to live and I don’t wanna be a part of that. It never served me well. I never really done it. And now I know why I’ve never like to do it. Yes I’ve had spurs of busy life and I mean very little spirits. Because I burn out thinking why am I doing this? What a waste of Time. So I just stop. I’ve been accused of starting things and never completing it. But it’s not that it’s just I see the futility in pursuing things that are not gonna serve me well in the end so I stop. Over the years I’ve just learned not to even start anymore. But I think that’s with youth. And I’m not young anymore, but I do know what I think is quality life. And I think living an intentional, slow living life is quality life because you are aware of life. Thank you for all of your efforts that you put into making these helpful videos for people like me who value the things that slow intentional life can bring us.
