I think there’s a huge shift happening. We are slowly fighting back against the system that wants us up so early in the morning and working into the night. Not enjoying our life. Not enjoying our family and friends. I have recently quit my job due to the hour demands it had, not mindful scheduling at all. In doing that I’ve talked to several friends who’ve also quit to my surprise because of the same reasons. I definitely see a shift happening. Life is precious, and you only get one shot at it that we know of. So quit that job that doesn’t make you happy, life will figure itself out as long as you put in the effort to change.
@MalamaLife4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree with everything you said. It is too precious to spend all our hours at work or chasing an ideal. When I slowed down, I could see what was right in front of me. I hope you and your friends are enjoying life more as a result of quitting their job or maybe adjusting their work hours. Thank you so much for the comment!

I started crying watching this video. It has become more evident to me that this way of living, or thinking, is something I have been seeking my entire life. As a little girl I always dreamed about living around trees, listening to the rain, gardening and living without the rules of that have been placed upon us. Somewhere along the way my vision was blurred, I won't say lost because it was still there and I found ways to tap into it. But I also found ways to fill myself with temporary happiness by drinking and partying way too much. I got validation from being in the "mix", dating around, working long hours and spending money. It wasn't until about 7 years ago I started to pull myself out of the matrix and try and reconnect with who I am, who I really am. It has been a slow learning process but I can feel the shift and videos like this make that even more evident to me, and when I reflect back it has always been in me. And I just am so grateful that God and the universe have introduced me to the slow living movement and I am excited to see how I can incorporate it into my life. Thank you.

Every morning I intentionally carve out hours to be alone. After I get my husband off to work I sit with my Bible, spiral notebook, phone, and coffee (black). I pray for the world, my family, for truth to be revealed. I listen quietly. Lately I've been reading the prophecies in the Old Testament, researching lost books of the Bible, discovering truth (facing it, not being overwhelmed, but empowered). Quietness is imperative to hear from the still small voice of God within.

Good video! You’re right. It’s a balance between getting essential things done, but then relaxing, de stressing, and enjoying things around you! Photography is one thing that has always made me happy. Taking pictures of flowers, in particular, makes me slow down and realize how beautiful and intricate they are. No two are alike! Now that I’m retired, I have been able to slow my life down. I know that I am giving my wife , our cat, the plants, trees, and the flowers in our yard much better attention. When I do some astrophotography, I’m on my own at night. It’s fulfilling because it’s something I tried doing as a kid, but wasn’t very successful at. I was a DJ at the college radio station. Listening to soft rock music transports me back and relaxes me.

Thank-you for this video. I play my flute every day, usually in the evening. I had set a New Year's resolution almost 3 years ago to play daily instead of letting my instrument languish within its case on a shelf like it had been for too long. I endevoured to play for at least 10 minutes every day. I have succeeded to do so, even while travelling ; because the flute is a small instrument it's easy to take along on a trip, as well as some sheet music. I will tell you, I have really improved my playing and sight reading. The 10 minute promise usually turns into a 15 or 20 minute session which centres and calms me.

You're absolutely beautiful inside and out. Thank you for this video. :) I love to meditate first thing in the morning, when it's still dark out and there's virtually no noise. It's beautiful to sit there in the silence, taking in the experience of being present in the moment with no distractions. It does wonders for my anxiety as well.

thank you for this video, i haven't realized that I don't actually do anything anyway that makes me happy, I haven't even thought starting it because I thought that is wasn't the right time or i need to only do it when i deserve to feel good, although I now see that i was just self sabotaging myself. Your video was really nice thank you for it.

I so agree with you on this approach to slower life. Every action, gets a reaction. I don't meditate and run 2 business, so my down time is important to me also. I own an off grid farm this is my down time place, and this is a place that I can recharge my batteries. Just subbed to your channel. I think your doing things correctly. Life is worth living, and I love living life.

Very powerful points! My slow down time is first thing in the morning walking my family; and destination is a funky cafe we get an almond latte from. We then walk back home…makes me feel connected to my family.

This is such a moving video. Maybe, I have this all wrong. I deal with depression and anxiety and by working 20 hours a day seems to work to keep things at bay. After watching this, but I need to slow things down. I could spend more time with the family and most importantly myself. Thanks for putting things into perspective.

Thank you for this video :) I've been feeling drawn to this way of living lately, and it made me a bit confused as to whether it would be possible to live slower and enjoy every moment, but I've been doing my own experimenting with it to find out what works best for me. I love finding people like you and the many people in the comments who are clearly also looking for a new meaning for life that society has kind of been taking us away from.

Thank you for your kind words :) Yes I am shocked at how many people are also seeking this slower more intentional way of living! Finding people with similar mindset was always my goal with this channel and I am so happy to connect with you! Thank you.

Thank you för your nice video, easy and simple. One thing that was good with the corona virus and lockdown, with no work to go to, just stay home and take it easy...have time to think..have time with family...that was an eye opener to how much time I usually spend working and prep för work. My days were filled without going to work. Now when things start up again I had hard time to find the time for the work. I am fortuned to work with creative things as I am a choirleader and singer...but still..it was Gold to stay at home and just be. And now I want it to be more that way.. finding ways to do less and still manager economicly...a challenge, but necessary . Life begins in the time when you allow yourself just to be, have time to let thoughts flow..and have time to spend with family and friends, the most important thing...Lots of Love to you and your mission ...be safe! Gina, Sweden Ps.What make me happy to do every day.. check up with my kids and mom, that they are fine and know a little about their plans and thoughts Ds

Thank you so much for your sweet and thoughtful comment Gina! Your job sounds really fun, but then again, I understand that it's work and there are time obligations and responsibilities. I am glad that we were all able to stay home and take it easy during the lock down. I can totally relate to you and also used the time to relax, reflect and just spend time with my husband. I also love what you said about letting ourselves be and just letting our thoughts flow. So much is controlled nowadays and it really is an important reminder to allow ourselves to just enjoy life for what it is. Much Aloha from Maui :)

I really needed this video this morning. People are going so fast on all kinds of roads. It drives me crazy. I use herbs to calm me down. They are in a hurry for nothing at all. Just like a dog running for his tail. It's insane. Even stupid. Meditation help me a lot. I will try other things. I am also an introvert. You need to bring something to my life. I love this so much. I spend my morning meditating, journaling and reflecting. I sometimes pray for the earth, the President and whoever I will be engaging with that day. I work part time from home. I make time to knit every day, take long walks with my lab, Cooper. It sounds silly and ordinary but my favorite days are spent in my kitchen washing dishes, sweeping the floor, making a pie from scratch, fluffing pillows . I love my family and taking care of them so they have a soft place to fall at the end of the day. I always felt less than when I was younger because I didn’t have a big career or a big social life. The older I get the more I enjoy my own company and appreciate the simple life.

One thing I feel about life; is that observing the passage of time between morning to afternoon or afternoon to night, has a very pleasant impact on me. Just contemplate and observe the change in the sun's lighting in relation to the environment, without a smartphone, without electricity, only with nature. Listening to the surrounding environment. This profoundly changes our relationship with life / day. Sometimes I talk to some people who do not even notice the difference in the environment when we are in summer or winter, the amount of light that the Sun reflected on the surfaces of objects, in the street that appears to be more or less due to the frequency of sunlight, the sky that appears to be extended or compact, light or dark.
