I've adopted these mindful Living habits recently after accepting that I am chronically ill and within a short space of time they have already been transformative both my body and mind. I have meditated on and off for years but when I do it consistently I feel much calmer and I am definitely more patient!

Being older and starting my journey now, with a more mindful decision to now. I have found a more centering outcome. I used to roll my eyes when I was told just take a deep breath. Thanks to some good therapy and a wonderful lady. She introduced me to my first time of truly meditation. Thanks for being here to help guide me through my journey. You are a calming light. I meditate every morning before I get out of bed. I chose the length depending on how much time that I have. It helps me start my day off on the right path. I write simple lines of happenings without judgement in my journal daily or every other as well. These things bring me peace in daily living.

I meditate for 10 minutes every morning, alongside affirmations, visualization, reading and Yoga. I love to start the morning so slow and calm and mindful. Doing all this everyday made the difference. It doesn't help to meditate now and then. Being consistent is what does the trick for me.

Connie, I keep watching your videos as possibly the best medicine or treatment for my anxiety. I’m taking notes on this particular video and my biggest issue is FEAR of loss, illness death. Working on acceptance I’ve noticed my thoughts are extremely persistent to the point I end up believing whatever they tell me, then consequently I start feeling emotionally and physically horrible . How should I start working on acceptance and not believing that voice telling me things will go wrong. Thank you Connie!
@ConnieRiet2 жыл бұрын
Hi Blanca, I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with fear of the future. Our thoughts are incredibly powerful. It's easy to get stuck in the past and relive events or trapped in the fear of the uncertain future. When I find I'm living in "what if's" in my mind I ask a few questions. 1. Do I know 100% this will happen? 2. When I think this worry thought how does it make me feel? 3. How would I feel and who would I be if I LET GO of this fear thought? At the end of the day non of us can control our future. Life is so precious, to valuable to waste one minute on worry about something we can not control. Try to be and live in the present moment. This will help bring you calm and peace. Here is a mediation of mine on acceptance. I hope it bring you peace.kzbin.info/www/bejne/in6qaWVmftypraM

Watching your meditation, I noticed your hand holding a string of beads. It looks as if you are counting the beads.....is this your “clock” for your meditation time? It seems to be a therapeutic way of control without being mindful of the time while meditating.

I notice you said silent meditation. That for me, seems more transformative than guided meditation. What’s your view on this? ( or anyone’s view)
@ConnieRiet3 жыл бұрын
I have found both silent and guided meditation to be beneficial depending on what I need that day. There are several forms of meditation, and I'm not a purest, sometimes I visualize, others I do mantras, and silent breath work. When I feel very scattered, guided meditation helps me drop into my practice. Happy Meditations!
@DP-dr6gi3 жыл бұрын
I do both guided and quiet meditation depending on my mood. I use guided meditation when I am antsy or have a monkey mind that wants to flit all around. The guided meditation really helps to guide me down the path when I feel like this. If I am in a calmer mood I find silent meditation very fulfilling. I do agree, for me,I go deeper with silent meditation.
@marep55973 жыл бұрын
I think the best meditation is what works for you. I’m not ‘good’ at meditation. After 20 years of yoga classes that include meditation and deep breathing exercises (pranayama) I know that what works for me is deep breathing. When I practice at home I include breathing exercises. It provides similar benefits to meditation and is something I can do consistently.
