Bro, that reverb extension tip is amazing! I had a bunch of sound fx in my Baby Yoda video that I wanted to do that with last week, but I had no idea you could add extra sound space to the end of a sound by using a gap in a compound clip. Thank you so much! I'll be using this endlessly from now on. I'm sure there are plugins etc but I wanted to use only what was built into FCPX. Again, thanks, Bro!

As always, really loved your video! My question is the part about stereo panning. I could not see or tell where you placed the key frame. My next question, which will probably reveal my level, is it seemed that you added only one key frame. I always thought another key frame was needed for when the to indicate the finishing point. Hope you understand my question and thanks for your videos 👍
@TheFinalCutBro2 жыл бұрын
The keyframe is on the far right side! You need to change the audio into stereo pan, then you’ll see the option to add keyframes. Secondly, you only need to add one keyframe! Any changes before/after that will automatically add more keyframes.

Thx as always! Also Limiter is quite useful tool to normalize the volume throughout the whole video. However somehow I always have problem to fully understand what is exactly going on there ;)
@TheFinalCutBro4 жыл бұрын

that was a great video, but I was searching for something else and this was recommended. but I still have the question, All my music is mixed up and not organised in folders. now I don't know which one is final cut default and which one is purchased, is there a way I can identify? thanks
@TheFinalCutBro4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! There isn’t a 100% for sure way to tell (to my knowledge) but one method you can use is just by dragging the audio clip to your timeline, it will either be colored green, blue, or teal. Green represents a music track, blue is typically dialogue, and teal is a sound effect. Final Cut Pro has their sound effects already pre-determined, so if you placed an audio track and it was teal, you would know it’s a default Final Cut Pro sound effect as it’s already color coded. Typically, Final Cut Pro determines most third-party sound effects as dialogue, unless you choose different import settings. So most third-party sounds will come in blue. Unfortunately I don’t really have a better method for you, but if I think of something, I’ll let you know!

Everytime I try to create a gap clip in my audio it defaults to the video clip. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
@TheFinalCutBro3 жыл бұрын
I apologize for such a huge delay in response. I somehow missed your comment! -- Unfortunately that's a limitation from FCPX. If you press Option + W, it will create a gap clip, but ONLY on the main timeline. It's seriously frustrating at times. The fix for this is to select your audio element, press CMD + G so that it creates a secondary storyline, then drag the gap clip from the main timeline, to the secondary storyline where your audio element is. THEN you can select both and press Option + G to create a compound clip. Frustrating I know, but unfortunately that's the only workaround (that I am aware of) currently.
